  1. TIL that a single spaghetti noodle is called a Spaghetto. In Italian, an “i” at the end is plural, and “o” is singular. This goes for other italian dishes too: panino, raviolo, fettucino, gnocco, etc.

On that note, I'm off to buy some Taci. 😎

E vero.  Mia nonna e Italiana ma non mi ha mai insegnato Italiano.  E morta molti anni fa.  Ho studiato per quasi quaranta giorni e voglio migliorare il mio Italiano.

I don't remember how to type in the letters with the accent marks over them, so pardon the lack of those.  I found this old status of yours by accident as I searched the word Italian, because I could've sworn there was an Italian language thread - among other foreign language threads - here on AtariAge somewhere.

And yes, i at the end is plural while o at the end is singular; however, feminine words (words ending in a) end with an e when they are plural (donna = woman; donne = women).  Some singular words end in e, however (chiave = key) but end in i for plural (chiavi = keys).

  2. I wonder if I should get some of my old unloved retro game consoles ready for eBay since I have some downtime at home. Do you think USPS drop-off will stay open for the foreseeable future? And will stay-at-homes be interested in getting 3DO or JVC X'Eye machines if they aren't receiving paychecks?

This is the perfect time for lightening up even more. Still sticking with PCs and TRS-80 Pocket Computers as the mainstay of my hobby.

  3. Grand Mountain Adventure is a sweet sweet game. https://www.toppluva.com/GrandMountainAdventure/

Looks cool.  Wish there was a realistic chance I would play a mobile game.  I just don't seem to grab the phone for that.

  4. Chipotle, which has 2600 locations nationwide, is offering takeout and delivery in response to the virus crisis. Burritos are life.

I find it amusing that my current PC is powered by a "Ryzen 2600" CPU and my PS4 has a "Jaguar" CPU

Our Chipotle up here is outclassed by a Q-Doba less than 2 blocks away...On a side note our restaurant may just do delivery and take out, too...As a driver,  I'll still be working if this comes to pass,  which is probably a good thing.

    4. Eltigro

I don't like Chipotle.  I know where there's a QDoba, but haven't tried it.  If you have a Freebirds World Burrito around, I definitely recommend it.

Ok mine isn't actually real. At least I don't think so. 🤪😜🤣

No worries Flojo.  I'm much more worried about my father who could certainly afford to stay home but probably won't.  He can be a bit stubborn and I'm trying to drill it into his skull how serious this is...Personally I'd love some time off, but financially... it's not a good time...Be safe everybody!

Thanks a lot. I hold you solely responsible for my lack of productivity today.

So when you say Everything...Nawww,  I know it's not coming to consoles I own....*sigh*

    3. Flojomojo

@GoldLeader Send me $200 so I can buy you a Switch Lite, will ya?

    4. GoldLeader

Man if I had $200, I'd go to Chugwater!

(Weird little joke my mom used to make)

      Chugwater, WY

  7. Re-enable the startup chime on new Macs:

    sudo nvram StartupMute=%00

    1. save2600

Now why would they want to mute that?

    2. BydoEmpire

I'm glad it's off, I don't want to wake my kid up when I turn it on early in the morning. IIRC it used to just use the volume level when last shut down.

  8. Happy 97th birthday to Chuck Yeager!

My 4th grade teacher was very, VERY proud of the fact that he knew Chuck Yeager. He had an autographed photo of him he'd Xerox copies of & give to all the kids on the first day of class. (And, as I learned later, to all the parents on parent/teacher conference day.)

The man knows ....... the man knows! 👌🤴

  9. The whistleblower in China who tried to warn people about the new virus has died. He was punished by the government, forced to "confess" to spreading false rumors on Facebook. They didn't want to hear it, preferring web users to “jointly build a harmonious, clear and bright cyberspace.”

Well, there was a lot of drugs going around in the 60's. Someone didn't think this one through for sure!

... and they've all got some level of facial grimice.  I don't think I'd be able to fill these things up.  I'd be laughing to much!

  11. 40 years ago: Klingons at McDonalds!

    1. ClassicGMR

Wow... I don't think I had ever seen that commercial. We did some weird stuff in the 70's-80's huh?

    2. jaybird3rd

Hey, at least that was better than a typical episode of "Star Trek: Discovery".

    3. AAA177

Thanks for that. I too was unaware of it. It seems as if the company didn't use the term "Happy Meal" at that time. From what I read, looks like this was the first iteration of the McDonald's product.

I remember seeing the film in theaters. Always thought it was a good movie. Surprised at all the criticism of it over the years. If I am recalling this correctly, I sent away for a "Star Trek" mobile via a Snickers promotion at the time of the movie's release. Will have to look that up to see if it is a phantom memory or not...my first Mad magazine was the issue with the parody of this project, No. 216. Time goes so fast...
