  1. I'm 0 for 4! Yay! I always thought VCS Popeye was kinda uncommon, probably because I never saw it. It sounds pretty good. Looks pretty bad.
  2. I haven't run any emulators ON Dreamcast in a very long time. I doubt it had the power to emulate a 1990s game. You'd have better luck with a PC, I think.
  3. I've visited your channel. It's informative, well done, and in some ways to certain people, entertaining. I see you're getting a lot of views, which I assume translates into some money for you, congratulations. I agree that you don't beg for views to the point of being annoying. You're prepared, well-edited, and from what I have seen, respectful of the viewer's time and attention. You're not part of the "problem" I have with YouTubers. That's not a dig on anyone, just a statement of my personal preference. I also like SD&R's stuff, particularly when he was talking about a certain lizard-based vaporware project.
  4. Everything ruins everything. Not enough people buy a system, it's ruined because no one wants to make games for it, and it's discontinued. If too many people want to buy a system, it's ruined because no one can find it, scalpers jack up the price, and it's forever expensive. If a game is a "sleeper hit," the company that made it doesn't benefit from the sales. If a game is a "hidden gem," then the value and desirability of it goes sky high, along with prices. If a game is too long, then it's impossible or inaccessable or otherwise undesirable If a game is too short, it's a waste of money, not a good value. If people are talking about the latest new thing, it ruins it for the people who were there first. If something is too popular, it's for "teh casuals" or the facebook moms or the free to play crowd, and not a real game. We can play games with labels and assumptions and x is ruining y all day long.
  5. And here I am, I happen to be literally JUST NOW installing the latest stable build on my little craptop ...first time setting up Stella in like a zillion years. Thanks for the new release!
  6. I thought Digital Derby was amazing when I was in the 4th grade.
  7. He didn't direct or produce that ... just a small acting part. See the matrix ...
  8. Have you seen a really good Spielberg film since Schindler's List? I don't think I have ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Spielberg_filmographyreminds me I should check out Bridge of Spies and Lincoln (and BFG is on Netflix right now), but he's not necessarily box office magic anymore.
  9. They'll sell it to anyone who will give them $3,000. You don't need to be a "big corporate client."
  10. AND you can play it on a non-VR, non-3D, vanilla PS4, too. It's a neat retro homage. https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/polybius/cid=UP4461-CUSA08328_00-LLAMASOFTPLB0002
  11. Then you're going to love this one, to which the top post video is a response. He has a nice radio voice ... https://youtu.be/exJZgMxFVCA I get the sense that most people in this thread are responding to the title, not having watched the video. 8 minutes is a lot to ask of my puny attention span.
  12. Sure, Dreamcast could have handled that, and it would be fun with those controls. It's from the era and company that made Ridge Racer so a PlayStation port would have been more likely. https://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=8462 No one is going to port it now that it's 25 years later. Your best bet is MAME emulation though the controls would be hard to set up, and you'd probably need a CRT if you want a light gun to work in the traditional way.
  13. My thoughts exactly ... if you're gonna bitch about a medium junking up the hobby, use your words in print. What I like about YouTube: you can see the game in motion, and maybe even watch someone play it well. No more relying on screen shots and iffy text reviews. What I don't like about youtube: "like me!" "Subscribe!" Monetization. Shilling videos in text forums like this one. "Personalities." Things like lists that would be better in written form than video. Hyping up stuff in a way that drives up prices. Talking heads. Unprepared presentations that would be better as written editorials. In short, I like it when people play to the strengths of the medium. I generally prefer print, though. It's easy to search, comments can be more intelligent, and you generally get denser information from it.
  14. I think it's Eli from Piko Interactive this time around, and SoCal is out of the picture. Moving forward, simple as that.
  15. That's good news, thanks Bill. Enjoy your vacation, but when you get back, we will want to know how these look, sound, feel, taste, and smell.
  16. Not to mention the real-life meta-game of "gather over a grand to spend on this goofily overpriced thing from an eBay seller"
  17. First official image from the movie. Opinion: Either this is going to ride on and/or contribute to a wave of VR adoption, or land with an icky thump because VR will have played itself out.
  18. Just get the best one. No news yet ...but we typically hear it here via Bill L first.
  19. That's so sensible to keep the collection small. I should do that (but I won't!)
  20. I like the futuristic connotations. http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Dunsel They could make an ugly add on and call it Edsel
  21. Atari Chameleon is still available
  22. Ahh, thanks for the clarification. In that case, buying the NES games for Wii Virtual Console makes a lot of sense if they're available to you. If you bought every single one of them, it would be about $150, which is still less than your reseller's Classic Mini. You wouldn't have to get them all, of course.
  23. My eyes are dry just thinking about it.
