  1. $15.99 in 1981 is $44.98 in today's money. Ye gods!!
  2. If the prices are too high, don't outbid them. I don't see any evidence of shilling there.
  3. SEE the pictures, HEAR the story, READ the book, but only if you OPEN the package! You're lucky there's YouTube!
  4. New in the wrapper! I'm "impressed."
  5. That is awesome! I have noticed that this game is getting a lot of attention on here lately -- enough that I've noticed it seems to have a little cult following. I wouldn't have given it the time of day as a kid (especially since the Star Trek mainframe game was playable in other places with better production values), but I'm intrigued now. Your enthusiasm helps a lot too! I've had this downloaded to my phone for a long time so I really should play it now that I'm thinking about this game again. 6. Tell him Google is his friend. If he sends it anywhere he's likely to get his Mini taken. It's not difficult.
  7. Whoa, time gal made it to mobile in Japan? Why not here?? http://senpaigamer.com/smartphone-version-time-gal-taito-classic-released-today-in-japan-05042017
  8. That's pretty smart .... bundling for profit, just like my cable bill.
  9. I've never touched, tasted, or seen a Switch cartridge in real life because I download everything, so neener neener. Sounds like a first world problem, though. Also sounds better than a slot full of lint. People would complain either way.
  10. Those Brits, so classy. I suppose they know their audience. The first one looks like Stroker for the C64.
  11. There's less competition with other bidders there. I've bought some gameboy things from them. Even if you think you're getting a good deal, high shipping costs are always a rude surprise. Plus your money is going to goodwill industries, which isn't the worst thing in the world but they have some questionable employment practices for people with disabilities.
  12. Generic Stunt Driving Game 2000 for the win!
  13. Mine are in an old Atari binder with baseball card sleeves. The GB and GBC cartridges fit without being too tight.
  14. That looks nasty. I don't like it.
  15. What Kosmic describes is how we sometimes take friends to Costco and buy things on their behalf (even if they pay). What toiletunes describes sounds like how a person could visit Sams solo, without a member friend. Can't do that at Costco as far as I know -- they want to see your membership card at the door. And now I'm thinking about the $999 Lenovo gaming laptop they have there, lots of RAM and storage and Nvidia GTX1050 graphics. I don't need it at all, but it's nice to see specs getting better at lower prices.m BTW I've never seen AtGames stuff at Costco, which is a shame.
  16. Wow, I thought that was the weakest of the bunch, by far. All gags and set pieces, no plot. I think a person's brain is changed after becoming a parent. I noticed that cynical old me started responding to politician's cries of "think of the children," even from people with positions I don't like. All the sappy adoption things in DM1 got to me.
  17. Maybe you can do it again, and send it to KS this time!
  18. I looooove the form factor of the folding SP with the bright screen. I wish Nintendo (or someone else) would remake it with USB charging and a headphone jack. It seems like the right hong for a kid who is hard on electronics. Fold up the screen when not in use and it won't get smashed.
  19. I think it's unlockable in Simpsons Hit and Run, a GameCube-era disc game. Also, someone built one: https://laughingsquid.com/the-homer-car-a-real-life-version-of-homer-simpsons-dream-car/
  20. I guess that stuff sells. I was looking at some old game cartridges and found a seller that displayed everything like this
  21. YouTube is probably the quickest way to get "just the records," but the Retroist podcast has a bunch of episodes about these as well, including talk about the games that inspired them. They're well produced and entertaining. This is where I first heard of the Atari records, as it seems I missed them the first time around. Asteroids Missile Command Yars Revenge
  22. Do what you like, like what you do, that's what I say. I meant "reasonable person" in the jury sense of the word, a "hypothetical person in society who exercises average care, skill, and judgment in conduct." The average person DGAF about SNES. Here's what was said To me, getting up at 5am to go to the gym is pretty ridiculous (though my spouse often does that, I do not), and since there won't be too many people there at such an early hour would suggest most others feel the same way. I certainly never said that you were uncivilized due to your choices. If you need to go through all that crap to get this collectible, go for it. I'm not doing it, though. It's nothing personal, and for what it's worth, I don't think you write like a savage. I'd have to see you eat to make a full diagnosis. I bought my SNES from a Woolworth store in NJ in the early 1990s for $150 with Super Mario Bros and two controllers. There was no line, and I might have even been able to pull it off the shelf myself, not from a locked cage as in Target or Best Buy. The AtGames reproduction consoles are available in great plenty, and some people even get them in dollar stores. The Nintendo equivalent could and should be more like that. It should be easy to spend $80, not a campout opportunity. I'm not a die-hard collector though, and I have most of the original games as well as Virtual Console versions on Wii/3DS.
  23. That's nicer. I wonder if I can get one with a strong glass screen? Oh wait ... it's a chopped Lite, which means the cartridge would hang out the lower slot like some great black plastic rectangular phallus. Do not want. Looks cute in bowling ball sparkly green though. Nice spray job. http://gameboymacro.com/product/macro-acid-green-top-burnt-orange-bottom-micro-usb-charging-7/
  24. There's a Yars' Revenge one too. I linked to a bunch of these the other day. I think most if not all are on YouTube. It's funny how certain kinds of media just don't exist anymore. No one is making short radio dramas for kids based on Minecraft as far as I know. Just like how there are very few movie novelizations now that we have home video shortly after theatrical releases. Speaking of which, the Alan Dean Foster novelization of The Force Awakens is truly wretched and I'd prefer it never existed.
