  1. Is that the same, larger, or smaller than last year's portables? Agreed with carlssen about the need to talk up the new technology in the HD editions. It's a pity there won't be just one great product in each series instead of many confusing, overlapping variations.
  2. If you're buying Atari Jaguar games in 2017, it makes a lot of sense to do so from a site that was designed in 1995. I'd be a lot more comfortable giving a credit card over the phone than to a page designed and implemented by the kind of shop that has pages like this. Even with a prettier front page, it would still have the same people fulfilling orders, with access to your shipping and billing info. If I were looking for a Super Burnout cartridge, I'd be glad to have this store as an option.
  3. Its a bit sad ...there are few enough of them that prices are stupid high, but there isn't enough real demand for anyone to build a reproduction or alternative controller.
  4. If you have Android, you have access to dozens of emulators that can run myriad versions of Outrun.
  5. Nope! This is the first official, public release. If you really want a 16-bit console Mortal Kombat, the Sega Genesis Flashback will be releasing around the same time for a similar price, and it has a cartridge slot, wireless controllers, AND all 3 Genesis Mortal Kombat games. Not a selling point for me, but some people are obviously into it. This is new hardware, not the same stuff AtGames has been selling for a while now.
  6. I'm counting on that happening very soon after the September 29th release. By Halloween, maybe? Yes, so no SuperFX chips needed!`
  7. Dang, that is a big selling point for the Mini -- those are 3 out of the 21 games on it!
  8. Is it typical to demand that your booth be open and staffed for the duration of the expo?
  9. Maybe -- you could say the same about the Donkey Kong complete edition on 3DS, but that never came out anywhere else. How does everyone explain the popularity of these things? They're just locked down emulator boxes, after all. Yes, they're cute, but that doesn't seem like enough.
  10. I don't know how I missed that ... I just realized that when showing the lineup from this press release to a co-worker. I was like, "hey, Phantasy Star is an SMS game." And there it is, with a bunch of GG games, too. Well played. This puts the nuGenesis over the top, at least on paper.
  11. I didn't think they'd do it either. I guess we will see an honest-to-goodness "console war" between SNES and Genesis, just like 1992 all over again. Nintendo has: known Nintendo quality HDMI cable wired controllers Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting 21 games, all excellent quality, every single one a classic, and introducing one little-seen prototype Nintendo Switch and 3DS marketing, if they choose to cross-promote Sega has: AtGames' sketchy reputation (which might not be deserved this time around) more than twice the games, of uneven quality, even before the non-Genesis "filler" stuff is considered Mortal Kombat trilogy if you like that kind of thing wireless controllers cartridge slot Sega Forever marketing, which might be more hindrance than help right now Assuming they're both widely available from the same places (a HUGE assumption), I'm not sure Nintendo looks so great in comparison, especially if folks still have old Genesis cartridges lying around. Being able to slap a vintage Road Rash or NHL '94 cartridge into the nuGenesis seems like a good thing. I simply can't wait for the lengthy internet and YouTube think pieces about which is better, especially the ones that end with "they're cheap, get both."
  12. My blind guesses, just based on probability of stuff you might find unlabeled and common: Racquetball Frogger Stampede Asteroids
  13. The seller has pretty poor feedback for eBay, and seems to be doing a lot of this selling of pre-sells. What a jackass.
  14. There's always the Wii, Wii U, 3DS, and Switch, I suppose.
  15. I'd pay double for a machine that did both. Same goes for the AtGames things with Sega on one and Atari on the other, but very similar hardware inside.
  16. I think they're in the Cosplay section, pretending to be a real company
  17. Nintendo sells SNES games for $8 each, and NES games for $5 each on their eShops. I suspect they want to keep the perceived value of their games high. 21 x $8 = $168 (SNES classic is $80) 30 x $5 = $150 (NES classic is $70, if you can find one)
  18. So I wonder how many of these will show up elsewhere? We haven't seen StarFox, Super Mario RPG, or Yoshi's Island anywhere else, and a bunch of these have yet to appear on the 3DS eShop. My personal reaction to this is a little odd ... I'm like, "ugh, I like those games, but yet another dedicated thing with its own power supply and HDMI input?" I might just need to buy a nice wireless SNES controller or two for my Pi instead of this, save my eighty bucks. Of course the same could be said of the Sega and Atari thingies coming this fall. I'll probably just buy them all, like the chump that I am.
  19. Thank you. Also, this https://superuser.com/questions/167131/how-do-i-calculate-clock-speed-in-multi-core-processors
  20. It says the controllers are wired. What's that connector, then? Looks like a mini-SNES controller. The European version looks so much nicer than the North American one.
  21. Yes, they're awesome, and in 3D if you dig that. M2 should make a console. Forget AtariBox and Sega Forever! Final Freeway 2 http://oykgames.com/final-freeway-2r/ Final Freeway http://oyatsukai.com/final-freeway/ Meanwhile, Sega Forever is getting hated on left and right. Ars Technica: Botched Sega Forever launch blighted by poor emulation I'm more like this: Sega Forever: Why should you care?
  22. Most N64 emulators use the same underlying core, and there are few games that run on one but not on another. Battletanx is probably one of those games that doesn't emulate well. Here's the Mupen compatibility list. http://mupen64plus.org/wiki/index.php?title=GameCompatibility
