  1. Spoken by the true master of the form. It's a very old issue. Here's WSJ on the topic from more than 20 years ago:
  2. I am using iOS on my phone, using the default keyboard, nothing fancy or complicated. It does not happen on any other site that I have noticed. I can try another site running the same forum software if anyone knows a place to try. Or maybe this will just go away with the next forum update. It just started with the latest OS update.
  3. Maybe try copy/paste these words: can't won't shouldn't I'll don't didn't I'm That worked. How odd Quotes dont seem to work either This is no fun!
  4. I dont have one because $hithead toy scalpers and speculators are ruining it. A better designed poll would have more options. Options that reflect reality, rather than icemans tiresome justifications. - would buy if available at retail like a normal product - will not buy or sell at marked up prices - am sick of justifications for selfish hoarding of toys made for children
  5. They say On January 30, 2019, we plan to close the Wii Shop Channel, which has been available on Wii systems since December 2006. We sincerely thank our loyal customers for their support.
  6. When has Atari EVER been cool? Speaker hat!
  7. 13 years is a pretty good run. I transferred my Wii store purchases to my Wii U about 5 years ago and havent bought anything new on there since then. So long as everything still works and nothing is taken away except the ability to buy things, Im OK worth this. I assume theyll replace it with something better on Switch. Most of what I bought was emulated games, which I can always play elsewhere in a pinch. The Wii itself is emulated decently on my PC, too. Having purchased all that stuff buys me moral justification for doing that. I dont feel the need to own it on spinning plastic. Its the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine.
  8. 6 is sensible. You do not need that old $hit and it is just taking up space. I donated a ton of stuff like that to the local university electrical engineering department many years ago. They were grateful, I got space back, and I never missed a single piece of it. 9 sounds smart though I bet the vast majority of it is easily fetchable online. Time spent on refurbishing 20 year old (but not particularly interesting) PC hardware would be better spent volunteering in the community in my opinion.
  9. Okay, lets try that Don\t Don\\t Yeah, thats not awkward at all. No one else is posting from a new-ish iPhone? Anyone? Hope this gets fixed, I look like an idiot! (I mean, more so than usual!)
  10. Good for you. I was hoping you would get stuck with them, unsold, like the pumpkins Homer Simpson held onto unto Christmas, you toy-hoarding, cartridge-reproducing, potty-mouthed scalping son of a mushroom.
  11. I wish their armpits to be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels.
  12. Mike and crew were funnier to watch though. "Our PR firm added that at the last minute" "Simple as that" "Power goes in ..." "Quality of the original COLCEO" "Colecovison" and so much more. Pure comedy gold and I miss it terribly!
  13. That didn't seem to stop ColecoVision Flashback from running with a few Exidy and Sega games.
  14. I hope they still have the rights. Sounds like they're out of business. https://forums.arcade-museum.com/archive/index.php/t-283070.html I thought Collectorvision bought up everything, but nope, it's like newColeco, they just have the name, not the games. :-( http://atariage.com/forums/topic/252416-collectorvision-games-aquired-exidy-namelogo/
  15. A video would be more convincing. Looking forward to seeing more.
  16. Venture, Star Fire, Pepper II, that kind of stuff, and the pinball games. A friend of the community has the rights so it would be feasible to re-release. I like the idea even if the reality would fall a bit flat as these games are old old old. Not sure what you mean by The Sorcerer, what did I miss?
  17. The cable companies are a PITA to deal with Amazon and Apple havent figured this out so I doubt Atari will rise to the occcasion. I've resigned myself to using two boxes: my Tivo for live and recordings, and AppleTV for streaming and purchased video. Amazon video is slow on the former and nonexistent on the latter (sheesh) so I would use one of my many game consoles if we watched that more (as we should).
  18. Theyre not the original rights holders, but DotEmu ported it to many systems. Not that theres any shortage of retro games on the Switch. I have it on several systems, Im a dope!
  19. That's what I feel for this project. Nasty + Nostalgia = Nastalgia
  20. What is this? Smells like piss. Looks like piss. This is piss. Piss with ink.
  21. Gizmodo pours on some haterade: New Ataribox Details Don't Make It Sound Any More Promising
  22. Coleco Chameleon was supposed to be very durable, built to last, so you could bequeath your old cartridges to your heirs after you die. AtariBox appears to be less backwards-looking, and will likely embrace upgradeable firmware and downloaded content. CC = stupid, insulting demos, including other peoples' work, and kitchen table "lab bench" video purporting to be a work in progress. Even if tongue in cheek, Atari can't sink that low. They'll probably bring out that stupid speaker hat, too. CC = lots of talk in interviews, podcasts, and stuff. The dudes were constantly changing the specs and seemed to be in public disagreement about what they even wanted. Ataribox has been much quieter and disciplined, and might even have a prototype. I'm willing to see what they actually come up with. I assume they're not going to stuff a SNES in their case and pretend it's running a proprietary FPGA board.
  23. Something with innovative controls -- stuff that is inconvenient or impractical in MAME -- would be neat to have. Trackballs, flight yokes, driving wheels. There was a Jakks Pacific plug and play for Star Wars (prequels) that looked like a motion controlled flight yoke. I would love love love something like that but with classic trilogy games, even if only for the old Atari arcade games.
  24. What does an Atari Jaguar use for birth control? Its personality!
