  1. I think Elon Musk likes "Space Balls".

      Well, who doesn't?

May the Schwartz be with You!

  2. A500 outputs in grayscale and RGB only, so you need a RF adapter, that has RF and Composite out.
  3. You need to lower your expectations. Condition that you describe it would cost you pretty money, if someone is willing to sell it. Yellowing of the case is inevitable, so once in a while you need to do Retrobright with peroxide, or just get used to the new color. Recapping of A500 does not need to be done, it's useful, but not really necessary, unless you have a problem. The models that really need recapping are A600, A1200, A4000 and CD32, all have SMD capacitors that will leak. There are no "new" floppy drives, all of them are at least 30 years old, so you will not know how long it will last. I would also add to your list a refurbished keyboard. Most keyboards on A500 use plastic membrane that gets bad over time. Make sure that keyboard is fully tested or new membrane installed. The have a new thin PCB replacement membrane that will not rot. Places to look for are: EAB http://eab.abime.net/forumdisplay.php?f=25 Amibay, sometimes hard to get in: http://www.amibay.com/forumdisplay.php?24-Amiga Amiga.org https://forum.amiga.org/index.php?PHPSESSID=0k48blk2nl2ocjd0o3hdbmg324&board=17.0 Good luck.
  4. Replying to original question, I would choose 3 computers: Atari 800 and similar C64 Amiga 500 Atari 800 and family with SIO2SD, easy to load and play games, sub $200 for both devices. C64 with floppy emulator boards, too many to list, $150 to $200 for both. Amiga 500 with GOTEK drive and RF adapter, plenty of games, easy load. $250 and up, depends on a week and how lucky you are.
  5. I can take one, I could use one for "distant learning" for one of my kids. Edit: I'll pass.
  6. It's not to hard to find, but most of them are in Europe. I wanted to see if someone here have some extra to spare. I was planning to mod it and put eprom in it. Thanks for looking.
  7. You need a hard drive file (hardfile) or a folder on your c : drive somewhere
  8. Anyone has extra Atari 2600 32 in 1 cart (PAL) that is willing to sell?
  9. Something like this wold work with for 2532? https://www.8bitclassics.com/product/atari-2600-2k4k-pc-board/ Adapter for 2732: https://www.ebay.com/itm/4Pcs-2732-to-2532-EPROM-adaptor-4-Pcs/254357145910?hash=item3b38de0936:g:lasAAOSwdhdcEyNi Is there a EEPROM equivalent for the 2532 EPROM? I don't have UV eraser, and I'm not sure if I want to buy another device just to erase the chip. Thanks
  10. I finally got the eeproms from China, and was able to program few chips. Works like a charm. Thanks for the tips. What eeproms I can use for use on Atari 2600 carts? I would like to make some homebrew carts for 2600. Is it possible to desolder the ROM from a commercial cart and put eeprom in it's place?

      BigO

If he keeps that up, he may have a first hand opportunity to learn how they make the real ones.

  11. It's not that hard to mod the controller yourself, if you know how to solder few wires and drill a hole. Controllers in the US are $20, encoders under $10, and so on.
  12. I'll be third or forth in line, so probably it's to late. The thickness of the rotary shaft is 6mm, if the hole is too small then it will not work anyway.
  13. I just modded my controller and 3D printed the knob, but your knob would look nicer. I may be interested in one, what is the size of the knob hole?
  14. @Ross PK you also need Tempest 2000 with rotary controller. After so many years owning my Jaguar, I was able to get me another controller and add spinner to it. What a difference in playing Tempest 2000! More precise control shooting down enemies.
  15. I purchased the TL866 II programmer and I should get it soon. I also got the 32k eeproms from China, but this one will take some time to get it. Can I program Atari STe TOS chips with that? What part number to use? All that is new to me.
  16. One more thing, what is a replacement for 27c256 to eeprom? I don't have uv light eraser.
  17. Thanks, looks like I'll get the one from US. I'll get it faster. Thanks
  18. I'm new to EEPROM programming and need an advice. I'm looking into buying a cheap programmer: TL866II Plus XP8710 USB Programmer Sofi sp8 USB Programmer I want to program MSX roms to a real cart, I think using 27c512, 27c256 and 27c128 eeproms. I think the TL866II will work, but the other ones are cheaper, the question is, will the xp8710 and sofi sp8 work with above eeproms? Thanks
  19. I had to google what "forstner bits" are....

    Any DVHS movie

I'm looking for ANY D-VHS movie, D-THEATER . I want to test my DVHS VCR with a HD VHS tape. Works fine with normal VHS, but I dont have any DVHS to test it with. I tried to record from FireWire, but it did not work. Thanks
  21. I cracked mine too, I think the plastic is super brittle.
  22. Looks nice! If you sand it with 300 or better grid it will look nice and smooth.
