Which consoles lose the most through emulation?
jeremysart replied to thegoldenband's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I would have to agree about the Intv losing a bit through emu due to the controllers, which is the same reason I feel the Colecovision looses out through emu. I feel lucky to own these systems and games for them. Nostalgia, the Intv emulator hits it dead on though with near flawless emulation. Now the system I feel gets shat on by emulation is the SNES. It's easier to see when its your favorite console next to the Intv. The best emulation I have seen is SNES9X, but the color pallet still seems wrong. Some N64 games look a little rough through emulation too, but then there are games like Super Mario 64 that look better on the pc than the 64! It also plays nice too on the keyboard if you configure the controls well! -
Shiny Technologies (Intellivision related)
jeremysart replied to ddaniels's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
If you have one of those, count your lucky stripes. Yes, those are worth a LOT of money right now, just because they were made in such limited quantities. Im jealous you have one, I'm a huge Intv collector! -
Hmm.. there are some penguins in Yoshi's Island. Of course, Antarctic Adventure. March of the Penguins for DS.

Nice! Too expensive for me I love the case too!

ColecoVision Super Game module (pictured) CES Folder!
jeremysart replied to pboland's topic in Auction Central
Lol! True, that and colorfull letters popping out at ya with a trail behind it. Ok, I see a Colecovision, a the Rollerball module, the 2600 expander, Pistol Grip controller, and the Wheel, but could someone please tell me what that other thing is inbetween the CV and the 2600 module? -
Name them! Who can name the most?

I got an idea for a new thread Thanks for the suggestion too!

I have played millions upon millions of PC clones of our favorite Classic games, from titles like "Nothing but action", and "Greatest Arcade Hits", I have seen many polished up titles (most of course with silly names that resemble the original). Last night I was searching for some good ones, I found a pretty cool remake of Demon Attack, althuogh I played an played and never came to a boss This "3D" space invaders is pretty cool too: http://download.cnet.com/3D-Invaders/3000-2099_4-10340920.html It would also be worth your time to check out the Berzerk remake, aka angry pixel bots. I found it pretty entertaining. http://www.remakes.org/ Apparently these guys do a lot of good remakes as well. What are some classic remakes that you enjoyed? Links are appreciated!

Again, BlueMSX. It plays both MSX software files and ColecoVision ROMs. BlueMSX's user interface takes a bit of getting used to, with configuration options spread all over the place, but once you get used to it, you probably will not want to use anything else. And it also helps that the author of BlueMSX is a member of this board, namely dvik. OH, I see. I didnt realize BlueMSX was the emulator, I thought you were recommending a similar game for the MSX, sorry about that. Thanks for the recommendation, im going to download it!

Whoops, lol. I'll check that out! What is a good MSX emulator? (I dont own one) Thanks!

I downloaded a CV emulator last night to check out what games I have been missing out on and I found one particular title I spent a LOT of time on: (EDIT: Ant)arctic Adventure! I liked the faux 3D style, the cute music, and the cute little chubby penguin! I also thought it was clevel that you have to jump over cracks, can catch flags and salmon jumping out of water holes, and those damn seals that pop up through the ice. I found this game to be very entertaining, the only con is you get a game over if you run out of time just once Can anyone recommend a better emulator? I am using a OLD build of VColeco. (I have a sheer lack of CV games in my collection, and I can currently only use my ADAM to play the games I have )

Most difficult RPG boss you have ever faced
jeremysart replied to shadow460's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Ah yes! Nice Choice! Between Phantasy Star II, Suikoden II, and FF VII, youve got some high class RPG. Illusion of Gia, Chrono Cross, and Secret of Mana too! -

Which consoles lose the most through emulation?
jeremysart replied to thegoldenband's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Haha, you sound like me! I have an Intv, Intv II with ECS, Synth, and System Changer, and a System III. I have been wanting to get a cuttle cart since there are just some games I will probably not be able to obtain (like spiker) I was lucky enough to come across Congo Bongo and Fathom seal, but I can play them.. because they are sealed. Cuttle Cart would solve that! I also want to get the CV flash cart and a Crock Cart for 2600 (I think thats what its called anyway.) I still enjoy having the actual carts, but I know its beyond my ability to collect every game for every system. Hopefully someday we can have the same type of multi carts available for systems like SNES. I mean, what does it hurt the company? Its not like games are still being sold or made for these systems. Where did you come across a usb adapter compatible with Intv? I have plenty of emulators, the only one thats not a bitch to use the keyboard with is the 2600. -
Its a bummer that such a great system was built so poorly. While all my other consoles that predate my CV keep chuggin along, I can no longer play CV games on the actual unit. Most of the game shows up but I get strange lines and spots of grabled junk on the screen.. I have been forced to use the ADAM or an emulator One of these days i'll get me another working CV. As far as the paddles, if you cant get em to work I would check eBay or post in the wanteds.

Suikoden II, second from last boss. Its been a while since Ive played that game. My copy disappeared, and when I went to look on eBay.. turns out its a rare title I don't want to spend that much on it. -
-Duke Nukem 3D had a good port to the Saturn, as did Quake and Hexen (Doom not so much) -Alien Trilogy -Astal -NiGHTS -Command and Conquer! This game is a classic! -Powerslave -Panzer Dragoon Zwei (Saga is good too, but luck finding it under $180) -Burning Rangers -House of the Dead (of coarse) -Bomberman (get the multi tap!) -Street Fighter Alpha 2 EDIT: Oh yeah, be sure to pick up an action replay cartridge if you plan on playing any imports or desire extra memory.

Using emulators for reviews...Good or bad?
jeremysart replied to etschuetz's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I would imagine if you plan on doing video reviews, a combination of both would be good. Show clips of you playing using the actual hardware, and for specific parts where the viewer needs clarity, dub in emulation. -
Article: Colecovision USB Multi-Cart
jeremysart replied to VectorGamer's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Hey why not? Not everyone can collect every game for any given system, thats what makes multi carts great.. that and not having to shove cartridge after cartridge into the system. -
Duke Nukem II
