Haha, I feel the same way about the Intv controllers. The 5200 is a good system. Most of the negatives are the size, and joystick failure. But those are easily overlooked by the systems great games and graphics.
-
That is very temping indeed. I can say, I probably would not be able to afford the controllers.. but that is a great set of overlays you made, and I would most definitely be interested in them! I cant wait to play it, its looking so good!

What about the episode of Futurama with the "Space Invaders", which also features Donkey Kong. There is also an episode of Family Guy with Pac Man, the ghosts mention going to Q*Berts house. (A maid also pulls a Colecovision out of his belly button in another episode) Then in South Park, the imagination land episode has Q*Bert in it. Why are the 2600 DK and PacMan sounds still used to this day for any game representation? I dont understand it.

Oh, I totally agree with you there! I wasnt saying it was bad, because I have spent good time playing it! I guess saying failed miserably was a little harsh It seems I was also mistaken about my copy of Robot Tank.. I played that last night for about a half hour, only dying into the 4th day! The reason I got mixed up is because I gave my mother an Atari Flashback 2, which I played on last time I was over there, and I was playing Battle Zone I stand corrected.

A Closer Look at Chester Cheetah : Too Cool to Fool
jeremysart replied to gamerz's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yeah, company promotional games.. lol There was also a 7-UP promotional game called "Cool Spot".. although it wasnt as bad as the Chester Cheetah game. -
Great collection. I really like that white one. The red one is pretty nice too. I myself have the Sonic Blue one. Someone stole most of my games though I am left with Sonic, Taz, and Lion King. As for the other colors, probably not ever produced. Like 16bit said, probably photoshop or custom. Most companies were leary about marketing to girls back when. There was even a lot of debate before Sony released a pink psp.. not that most gaming chicks would want girly pink, they are usually a lot cooler than that

I still have the game center in the picture that is holding the sixer. But you know what really sucks? When I was demonstrating some of the games to a friend, I sat on the smoked glass case which I sat on the futon, and it shattered to pieces. Thats ok though, I rarely had the cover on because I like to see the 2600 sitting out since it was the first system I ever played on. The woodgrain case looks cool sitting on top of my woodgrain magnavox tv with a woodgrain 2600 in it

Photos of store display game kiosks
jeremysart replied to user42's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Wow, those are pretty wicked Kiosks. Especially DD's Coleco Kiosk, and the Intv one. The Megadrive is pretty bad too! I actually remember the NES one -
I dunno how they could have made it any better. The only thing missing are the warps Im not saying its bad, it is just not like the arcade, which I could play for hours. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f01M2l9oGJI compared to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ytu2AUPhavs You see? But thats just my opinion, so please dont get offended! Robot Tank is not a re-release of Battlezone. Robot Tank is by Activision, and while it is similar to Battlezone, you can't even call it a clone, as it has drastically different gameplay. You are right, the gameplay mechanics are a little different, and battle zone looks nicer. Strange thing though! My copy of Robot Tank, is actually Battlezone with a Robot Tank label!!! I must make a video to show you! I dont know how that could have happened, that is why I got mixed up. Does anyone else have a copy of Robot Tank that is actually battle zone?

Sorry, definitely not such a good snag. I dont know about the UK or other states here, but I know its easy to score a mint GB for $10, games about $3-10 each. Gameboy pocket/ color around $15, GBA $20, and GBAsp $35. Here is a tip for you when using eBuy: Sort by: Action only: Time: Ending Soonest or Sort by: Buy it Now: Price: Lowest Usually find the best deals that way.. or get a hold of someone on here. This is a good community, and usually we like to keep our stuff in it.

Uncommons to Rares: THUNDER CASTLE! Do yourself a favor, and hunt for thunder castle, the price is well worth it! This game really pushes the Intv to its limits, with a great title, three beautifully detailed intermission screens. There is well translated victory, death, and invulnerability music, plus great in-game music with three separate screens! Not to mention, it is just a fun and challenging game. The Dreadnaught Factor. Very addicting, great in game detail, challenging! Tower of Doom. You will NOT be dissapointed with this title. Compelling and advanced gameplay will have you feeling like your playing a graphically challenged Diablo. Bump and Jump. An addicting little racing game, where you earn points by smashing other cars off the road. Cute in game music. Diner. Imagine if Crystal Castles and Burgertime had sex, this is the outcome. Addicting! Ice Trek. Multiple screens, challenging, lots of fun. Dragonfire. Im sure you have played it on the atari, but this version is a little more graphically pleasing. Easter egg: press 1 while on the bridge, and the programmers name will appear as one of the treasures! Beauty and the Beast. Although it is an obvious DK spinoff, it has playability, and can be quite addicting. Tropical Trouble. If there was a sequel to B&TB, this is it (uses the same hero and villian) only this time you trek across four screens to reclaim your kidnapped lover. River Raid. This is one of the best ports of the game. It is both impressive, and very fun. Worm Whomper. A silly concept, but easily addicting, and laughs for everyone. Pac Man. I initially though, oh its gonna be another crappy pac man port, but instead, I got arcade quality pac man with the correct sounds music, and even intermissions! Dig Dug. A worthy port over. Commando. Hard but fun. Frogger. Not as good as the starpath frogger for the 2600, or even coleco, but it is nonetheless, frogger. Q*Bert. I preffer this version. AD&D Treasure of Tarmin (Minotaur). Fun, lengthy, and 3D (sorta) Just make sure you get the manuals and inserts for this game, otherwise you may have trouble figuring out just what the hell is going on. Donkey Kong. JUST KIDDING. Although DK jr is not so bad! Masters of the Universe, The Power of He-Man. Lame, but fun and novel! World Series Major League Baseball. If you can manage to figure out how it works, it is one of the better sports games of the day, and fun for multiplay. --- Commons that are fun: Astrosmash Tron Deadly Disks Shar! Shark! <<< Best multiplayer ever! Bomb Squad. "The code, the code! They'll never guess it in time!" lol Burgertime NightStalker. Cheat: When you aquire your pistol, quickly go to the bottom of the screen and shoot the robot right after it spawns. Wait about a second after it explodes, and shoot in that direction again, repeat. You will eventually run out of ammo, but this is a quick way to advance to the deadlier robots. --- Also, if you need disks, I have a paddle I can sell/trade you for parts.

Christ you have a lot of 2600 games! I'd like to see the price in that head alone. Nice. You missed out on a lot of good games for the nintendo systems though :-(

If one was to begin learning basic/programming
jeremysart replied to jeremysart's topic in Homebrew Discussion
Wow, thanks for all the suggestions. Discovering Visual Bb was great as I am largely a visual learner (hence the fact I am an artist). I think i'll be doing a lot of reading over the next few months. -
Much thanks for this program, now people that learn better visually like I can learn to us Bb. This is a great program, I have a feeling i'll be spending some time looking into Bb and your Visual IDE.

Zelda on Coleco would be awesome. Even if not the complete game!

-Atari 2600 -Intellivision -Colecovision -Atari 7800 -Atari 5200 Which of these system is best for a beginner, Which is hardest to learn? Are there any user friendly programs that make it easier to pull/ grab and edit sprites/ graphics for doing hacks without a lot of programming? Please give opinions and reasons. Any references, books, or websites that would be helpful are appreciated! Thanks.

Major and Minor Consoles of the Classic Era
jeremysart replied to RangerG's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yeah, the Odyssey2 does kinda float inbetween major/minor. Ive known enough people who grew up with them to say lower major though. 5200 definitely gets booted off, although it is NOT a bad system. Here is an afterthough: Action Max: Wtf? Hey, what about Turbo Grafx 16? Great system. -
Article: Atari Punk Console for die hard Atari fans
jeremysart replied to VectorGamer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I dont know why its called a "punk Console", since its more of a noise maker. Very cool looking, but im not so sure about $45 for it -
Good job on the 3D0 score.
Bringing home treasure for a good price is an awesome feeling!

Classic gaming grab last night!
jeremysart replied to jeremysart's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Jag? Really? That is the one console I NEVER see around here! I have always wanted one, primarily to play its polished port of Wolf 3D, 2 player Doom, and AVP! What Intv stuff came up in your area? Grab it up! AX, PM sent. -
This thread is not a wish list for developers, it is a thread for us to discuss amongst ourselves, game/ port/ mod/ brews that we have thought of.. And a few developers have confirmed they arent bothered if people discuss ideas, as even a couple of projects have come from just such forums. If developers had such a problem with it, they could simply just not look at threads that suggest ideas.
