  1. I gave my MS-DOS 6 Upgrade and Windows 3.1 installation disks away along with some old computer stuff I sold last year. I did't think I would be needing them again. If you have originals, or can make backups for me on 5.25, let me know.
  2. Only done it once, went to Ohio for an INTV System III for $20 with 15 games all boxed. Good stuff.. its a pretty console.
  3. Wow! Good find. This is like winning the lotto.. something you just dont expect to happen. Its really pretty to look at too! A white and blue INTY? It would look so pretty next to my INTY & INTV III One has to wonder, how many were produced, how many still exists, and what its market value is? But $5 ... man, what a score. I really wonder where they got it from.
  4. NIAD, Thanks a lot for taking the time to compile all of this information for me, I really appreciate it! I do not own a disk drive for my ADAM, but I do have both low and high density disk drives on one of my old PC's; although I will probably seek the alternate route and get ahold of one of the contacts in your links. I am definitely going to look further into the information you provided, having Dragon on the ADAM would give me a reason to boot up that machine on a daily basis; it would be great to wake up and have a cup of coffee starting the day with a game of mah-jongg on one of my favorite computers. Again, thanks for posting about this great and otherwise forgotten treasure, and taking the time to help me out!
  5. Whaaaat! I LOVE Mah-Jongg! Man, I would love love love to come across a real physical copy of this!! I would be on my ADAM for hours! What is the rarity of this game? I need to be more tech savvy.. there has got to be a way I can play this on my ADAM.. Ive got quite a few un-opened DDP, anyone want to help me out, haha. Thanks for posting this, Mah-Jongg is one of the few puzzle solving games I really enjoy. I used to play it ALL the time on my old ACER that came with Windows 3.1 and "BOWEP" Best of Windows Entertainment Pack which included.
  6. Here is the final box artwork I created for LOTD. It was an honor to help out with this project! Enjoy
  7. I have never had any negative responses, but everyone that walks into the game room seems to light up. Most people have a grin on the face, and I can tell their eyes are going nuts trying to decided which shelf to scan with their eyes. A lot of people get the impression that I have a mini game museum and that I could be "rich" with all of this stuff, and I have to go on to explain that none of it is really worth *that* much, and that it would pretty much equal out to a few months of gas money. I love it when people come in that have never seen half of the things I have, like the coleco, intellivison systems, the adam, the famicom stuff.. its excited. I always boot the Adam up for people to check out too. The only computer you'll ever see playing legit colecovision games lol.
  8. I recently played through this forgotten treasure on SNES9X, and I really enjoyed it. I would like to actually own this one on my SNES. I'm not huge into collecting anymore though, and I am not willing to spend $40+ on it. I do not need the box or anything, just the cart would be great. But I will buy it with the box so long as the price is reasonable. Also, I am looking for Kirby's Dreamland 2 for GB, as I lost my original copy. Thanks! *EDIT: It can also be the Super Famicom version, as there is really nothing to read in the game*
  9. Uhg, I should have never sold Tower of Doom.. it was such a good game.
  10. I'm a retro gamer and somewhat of a kid, plus I enjoy the occasional casual title.. so Nintendo caters to me more than Sony. I will eventually have both, but not for a looong time.
  11. F&%$ing hell yeah!! Bring on the 90's DOS classics!! Descent was great!
  12. That would be very cool. The aquarius seems to show up fairly often at the local tradecenter here. Ive seen at least three of them, sell around $30 each.
  13. Just had a Kirby streak; GB- Kirby's Dreamland 2 NES- Kirby's Adventure SNES- Kirby's Adventure 3 (all heart stars 100%) Kirby's Adventure 3 was an excellent, and challenging (to get 100%)game. Its highly under-rated and under-appreciated due to its poor release time after the N64 debuted (personally though, I think the best games come out at the tail end of a systems life. Kirby's Adventure came out when the SNES was already out a few years after all). Also a lot of folk tend to compare it to Kirby Super Star, and claim that "it removes all of the advances in game play", but you have to remember, the dreamland series is separate from super star, like paper Mario is to super Mario galaxy. The game is original, bazaar, cute, excellent music, and fun to complete.
  14. Nah, not as long as a cousin or a friend had one. SNES was the way to go. Not saying sega was bad persay, but there were less good games, and terrible sound. But again, I guess its really all about prefference. I like good sounds, side scrollers, and lots of color.
  15. Can I recommend getting an R4DS? It is a slot 1 card that takes a micro sd chip. You can get them for dirt cheap off sites like dealextreme, or you can find folks on craigslist that sell em pre-loaded with firmware for around $40-50. I recommend this for two reasons, 1: You can put .nds backups of your daughters games on it, that way you dont have to worry about them getting lost or stoler (with a 2gig sd you can fit upwards of 30+ games, so theres more than enough room for her) 2: StellaDS, an Atari 2600 emulator for the DS, works on DSLite with R4. I have it, and rom files for all 200 of the VCS games that I own. If you get one and need help, I can send you the firmware and the emulator (of course with the rom files) as well as some other goodies (e-reader, nes & snes emulator, and a drawing program your daughter could use).
  16. I have yet to buy Epic Yarn, but I will be buying this for sure as well! Always a big fan of the the originals.
  17. As far as mainstream popular systems, I never owned a Genesis (except the Genesis 3, and that waaay at the end of its shelf life), Saturn, PS1, Dreamcast, or PS2. (I own all of them now) and I didn't get an N64 until the price went down to $89, but that was still before the GC came out. I DONT think I'll be getting the 3DS or the PSP2 (NGP) until well after the prices drop $100.
  18. When it comes to CL, I don't think you can be too paranoid. I have had mostly decent transactions, except once, but I'll get to that. When selling, if its a male, I will only meet in a public location such as a grocery store parking lot. If it is a female, I am less hesitant about giving away my address; but first and foremost, I look at the email response. If you cant type with proper English and grammar, and be intelligent enough to leave some information, I will not waste my time. In all of my posts for selling I put "DO NOT EMAIL ME "interested in ---", YOU MUST LEAVE A LEGIBLE, DESCRIPTIVE REPLY WITH YOUR NAME, A PHONE NUMBER, AND THE BEST TIME TO REACH YOU. IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, I WILL NOT REPLY" right at the top. When posting a wanted add, I put "YOU MUST HAVE A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE ITEM, AND/OR A PHOTO, YOUR LOCATION AND A NAME & NUMBER". Even then, I will still get 10 emails that looks like this: "yo instristed in tat game -text from blackberry-" People are idiots and half the time don't even read the post they are responding to.. thats why I am so strict about it. Creepy time: It was summer time, about 99 degrees outside, its been an insufferable heatwave for MI. All of the local stores are out of the $100 air conditioners. So I go on craigslist. I find an 800BTU for $40, so I call the number, no one answers, so I leave my name and a number. The guy called back at 10PM, so I'm thinking "ok, its a little to late and dark out for me to be comfortable meeting some guy at his house that I don't know" so I ignored the call. Its 12PM now, me and my woman are laying in bed, the phone rings. Its him. I'm thinking "wtf?" and he called again at 3AM He called two more times the next day, so I sent an email saying I didn't think he was going to call back to I bought one from the store. CREEPER. I had a transaction over the weekend, I went to a guys house to get a computer. He closed the door behind me when I came in, that made me feel uncomfortable, but he turned out to be really nice, and he showed my all the games he put on the old PC and the dos commands he had set up. It was a good score too, $35 for a working 386 PC with dual 5.25 floppies, a monitor and old clicky keyboard. Although my GPS died as I pulled out of his driveway, and I had to call my wife and have her guide me via mapquest and me telling her what road I was on
  19. I have had this happen to me in older games as well. I remember hitting the nuke symbol in Duke3D as I was getting blown up.
  20. Im not sure how many folk make it over to the Wii forums in modern gaming, so here ya go! http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/176443-new-kirby-game-for-wii-2011/ I for one and very excited!
  21. Unlike Epic Yarn, this Kirby game is being made by the original creators of Kirby, HAL Laboratories. This was announced on Nintendo's official (Japanese) website the 28th of January. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/01/28/nintendo-announces-new-kirby-title-for-wii.aspx From what you can see in the 36 second video, Kirby appears to be going back to his roots in spirit of the Kirby's Adventure/ Dreamland series. Ironically, I was talking with a buddy of mine ON the 28th about all of the modern re-boots of classic series. I told him I thought Epic Yarn was creative, but it wasn't what I was hoping for, and that I would love if they did a reboot of Adventure/ Dreamland. Then I find the video the next day, cool!
  22. The processor is an 80386DX. It is indeed 40 Mhz, however, in the BIOS it shows 44 ( ) so sorry about the confusion! Other than that it has 1918 kb memory, a 540 mb HD, 1.2 mb and 360k 5.25 floppy drives. This PC also has a turbo button Running IBM DOS 5. Also noticed a wina20 file, I thought that was only standard in MS-DOS.
  23. I cant find Intellivsion anywhere on this list I definitely don't think it failed, but its an underdog system thats certainly deserves more attention and respect. It is also the one that a lot of people never heard heard of; you say Atari, everyone knows what your talking about. Its one of my all time favorites.
  24. I'm sure they are. They were loosing out on money with the PS3 for a looong while before regaining any kind of momentum, the GO certainly didn't help. This does not look bad though at all, but I'm sure I wont get one at launch.
