just a little question for everyone how many people actually play there atari systems alot? i know that if i play atari 2600 or anything like that i use the emu for the most part and keep all the actually systems and stuff safe at my storage area. i am more into collecting it as art that entertainment. so how many people play the orig alot?

and before everyone starts tell me to buy games i am talking about stuff that is not realsed like demo scene stuff and quake ports (that i have the map files for). now that is out of the way i would like to know if anyone knows how to burn cdi (disc juggler images) in linux. so far i have got a cdi2iso converter but it is not working i have tryed putting a 4 sec track at the start of the cd and then burn the rest on track2 and then i even tryed to patch the iso with the ip.bin. any help would be great as i have been trying for 2 days and don't want to have to install linux.

that and some of us hate flash and still use text only browsers for speed (even though we have a cable connection). jpegs and pngs are also way more cross platform that anything else.

anyone have a link to this site i think i would like to check this out if so many people have traded with him?
-
think you could post some scans of these?
-
well if the chat room thing doesn't go through we could all use irc, and you would all be welcome in my channel on efnet #atarigods

i wish i had seen that before the auction had ended.

alright i didn't really fallow the combat 2 story much but to me it seems that someone has made up a label stuck it in a cart with a image (copy, not orig made) of combat 2. is this correct? and if it is then it is not need for one to complete a collection becuase i could just as well make one if i wanted to get all the gear to do so, make a diff end label and bam i have the only copie with that var label made.

i would have to agree with that. i was interesed in the topic but the body of the message is lacking something, and i think game titles might help

i remeber playing asteroids until my eyes hurt and then i would sleep at like 12:00 which was late for a 8 year old i guess at the time and then i would get a really bad headacke, but it was all worth it i mean i had to save the world!

i feel that if it is a person selling it on there own trying to make a few bucks or mabe alot more that is up to them who are we to judge them. i mean alot of people are in the hobbie for money (not me) but card stores are the same i mean people collect cards for fun and some "invest" in cards. so i am indiffrent to the whole thing.
-
alright i don't know if i am missing something but there seems to be only 17 diff apollo carts that i see there and there is more listed. there is alot of double carts listed that all have the same image to them?
-
is there any real reason that it is hard to find the power supplys for this great system?
-
you know most my family understands that things are only worth something if you can find the right person. so for the most part they will sell to me really cheap or in alot of cases just give it to me. [ 08-12-2001: Message edited by: [hurt]138 ]

alright i know that alot of orig combat carts have the metal sheilding over the rom chip, but i have also noticed that space invaders also does in some cases. my question is what games or what date did the sheilding take place?

Trading/Selling/Buying Commons and Uncommons
hurt replied to King Asmo's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
i currently do not really know what i have but i am redoing my list has it got way out of hand a little back. i will keep that in mind and when it is done let you know if i do have any of these. -
i know what you mean about shipping chardges nothing like buying something on ebay for 1$ and then spending 4 to get it shipped to yourself.
-
alright i don't know how well this will format but here goes nothing.. btw if it does not email me and i will send it to you i know this works as i have done this and that is what i wrote this from in side is a ic that is numbered as fallows. 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 | | | | | | | | ---------------------- |. NES IC | ---------------------- | | | | | | | | 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Now that you have figured out the pins on the IC, you can look at thatAtari 2600 joystick cable This chart will tell you the rest of the process.connect the wires as shown in this chart. | IC PIN #'S | ATARI WIRE | |------------|------------| | Pin 1 | Orange | |------------|------------| | Pin 4 | White | |------------|------------| | Pin 5 | Blue | |------------|------------| | Pin 6 | Green | |------------|------------| | Pin 7 | Brown | |------------|------------| | Pin 8 | Black | |------------|------------| The buttons are inverted (They fire when you are not pressing the button, ands top when youare pressing them). To correct this problem turn the board over (So you are looking at the bottom of the IC). Now off to the right youwill see four black strips. You have to cut the top of the 2nd one from theIC and the bottom of the forth one from the IC. This will correct theproblem of the inverted buttons. Now reassemble you NES controller, and ifall went well you should be able to control the game with a NES controller. hope this helps and if not email me i have a better copy and it is late so i might be a little more sleepie that i think i am.

man you from the sounds of it, it is people like you that make this hobbie fun. where do you live btw mabe we can setup a trade you should email me... but i am sure i do not have much that you would want but you never know, i am right now redoing my lists so i will see all what i do and do not have

alright i have a question for everyone. i know that when i goto the thrift shops and stuff i just look for anything atari even if i have 20 or more (if it is cheap i get it, or if i don't have it at all). anyway but when i order stuff on ebay or trade i try to go through my list of stuff i need in order. i was thinking that i should just get all the common games first but then i thought that there is a good chance that i will just find them out thrift shop hopping. anyway i would like to know if people have a system to how they hunt or if they just go mad and try to get anything they don't have right off the start.
