  1. hello all i would like to know if anyone happens to have a url for a disk image of the tos boot disk for my 1040st, i know that some of them where shiped before the rom was done so atari shiped some out with the boot disk. any help on this would be great thanks.
  2. yes but have the disks images that i download for the emu's not been modifided in some way so that they will not work on the original atari st computers. i only ask this becase i downloaded a few demos and could not get any of them to run on my 1040st or my megaste.
  3. i use a system close to yours in my list but i count the label vars. i find that this works best and i do not have a total but i am sure it is up there anyone know how many carts there are total with all the vars?
  4. alright everyone i have a question about the st computer line. you see i have over the past little while found a 1040stfm, and a megaste. now i feel bad having these and not using them so i thought i would get some apps for them and give them a go. the problem i am having is that all the demos and apps i get are in some format for some emulator. so my question is how can i convert these back or where can i get orig disk images from? also i do not have a hdd for any of they systems, would someone know where i might get the controller for the megaste?

    End Labels

the only way i could see this happing is if someone took a dead cart and started to gut it for labels and i think the processes would be very hard.
  6. alright jo so everyone knows work on this is still going on and we have done some of the video section, the process is very long and slow as we have only the system it self to go by. and there is alot of change in the jr when compared to the 4 switch'er, and that is just form the power supply and some of the video section that we have found this. anyway we are still open to help if anyone is interested in helping us.
  7. i have found that alot of the switches are not made by the same people i assume atari went with the lowest bidder for that month, day, or week. i know that alot of the jr's that i have all look the same when you take the cover off but that if you look at the switches alot of them all have diffrent manufatuers names on them.

    Stuck on an Island

i would say i need the 2600 and Galaxian i mean that game kicks and i have played it for ever so it would have to be a game like that. so that no matter how long i was there i would not get sick of it.
  9. well it sound like a dirty switch or bad contacts on the switch. i would sujest that if you feel "ok" with electronics open that bad boy up put some fresh soilder on the pins of the reset switch (where it connects to the under side of the board), and mabe use some electical cleaner on the switch it self. make sure that the stuff is safe on plastic as i am sure that will be a main part of the switch. you are the first person i have heard about haveing a problem with a switch on the wood'ies. the switchs on the jr's are well know for being some what crapy but the wood'ies seem to hold up great. well good luck with that
  10. well i have done that mod a few times now for people and it all looks good to me. make sure that you have a 2600jr though. and also check you grounds, a good spot is the large shine silver trace that the shild plate sits on. and btw if you do have a 4 switch that you are trying to do this to those will not work but i have done mine and i seem to have gotten it to work, but i have not typed up anything yet as i was to make sure that it is ok first. i would hate someone to get it and try it and then mess there system. but with all mods everyone knows that it is at your own risk. anyway good luck with that and i will get on making up a little how-to for the composite out on the 4 switch
  11. yah that is kinda my plan to try and get them all, i know that there is a service manual that has all of them in it other than the jr. but that thing cost alot of money, although i have the ones from your site and i am sure the 6'er would be pretty close so schematics would not be to hard to get from what you have for that.
  12. i also live in canada and i just usally look for the people in canada using ebay.ca that way i can get some carts and not have to worry about the conversions and all that. but you are right so many games are not found here and by only searching ebay.ca i lose out alot but i am still looking for lots of common carts so i do alright that way i guess.
  13. actually yes i do have those ones but there is alot of stuff that was changed in the circuit from the 4 switch woodie to the jr. schematics are around for all the systems other than the jr, because when the jr came out it was so cheap that to service a dead one was just dumb. but thanks for the info and yes some sections are prob the same but the power section is not the same and that is all we have done so far. i guess the only way we will know what is and isn't the same is to compare after it is all done. in which case we still have to do it.
  14. back the your orig question man i don't know if anything was changed but i can bost the specs for the lynx and hope that someone can post them for the lynx II. lynx specs processor: 65c02 processor speed: 4 MHz Resolution: 160 x 102 Colors Avail: 4,096 Colors on screen: 16 Max Sprites: 128 Sprite Size: Programmable
  15. could you tell me if by chance the osilator for the timing of the chips in the pal jr is the lower most section of the board and if there is a empty gap of main board where there is places for componets but no componets in there?
  16. alright people the work has been started on the atari 2600 schematics for the jr. it is very slow moving but i have a friend called shaggy138 helping me out with it, he is not into the atari scene and i think he thinks i am crazy and just has pitty on me. but at anyrate he is helping me out and we have completed the schematics from the power section of the jr. i will post more info on how we are doing on this here as we get more. and also one atari will die in the porject!!! hehe well we removed ever component so that we can fallow traces better. if you are good with this stuff and feel like you want to help leave a message here or email me we could use the help.
  17. i have not seen any large images on the net as of yet but from what you describe it sounds like you are talking about the more current hasbro logo. is this what you want but in a larger form? http://www.cwo.com/~holstine/2600/hasatari.gif
  18. if you do end up moving to s free host with no updates i would have to say www.graffiti.net they have no banner ads and provide a great service.

    field service manual

no i don't belive there are any on the net i have looked and looked and looked, all i have found are the schematics for the atari 4 switch woodie, but like said there was alot of changes in the lay out and design of the atari for the jr. i don't know if the manual talked about above has them or not and i have seen that for sale on site bit it is 40$ and i am canadian so that would be like 80$ for me and i just can't swing that. but i will get them one way or another and when they are done i will post them for you to grab.
  20. hello fellow canadians can't say i have bought any games in toronto, but i live about 2 hours away and i have gotten a ton of games here locally. so i am sure in a bigger place like t.o. there would have to a ton of thrift shops to goto.
  21. Alex: i think that your idea about limiting it to memebers with a certian number of posts is a great idea, that and the fact that if someone did just enter a bunch of crap then you would know who they where or atleast there user on the message board.

    field service manual

hrm i was just thinking i was going to do all the schematics myself and get a good copy of them, just by going through the circuit. this would take a long time but it would be very usefull seeing all the atari realted portables and other such projects seem to be getting more well know. if anyone is interested in mabe helping out with this i am sure i could use some help. but if someone still has some schematics of the system i would gladly use them.

    field service manual

thanks and i did find schematics on the site but i am 100% sure they are for a 4 switch wood'ie, and i would like to find schematics for a jr (3 chip). so if anyone knows i am still looking, but thanks for the info.
  25. does anyone know where i might get a copie of the 2600 field service manual. i am really just looking for the schematics to the system it self but the whole manual would be cool in image or pdf or something like that.
