    He won't get much money from them.  It takes way too much time and money to file a lawsuit.  They still treat Tommy like he don't know what he is doing.  I watched the latest 2 videos.  Almost had me with the latest one until I saw Smash JT's newest video.  I do recall from the other videos, he have shown the Amico and shown the back of the unit.  Gotta wait til Tommy's to be allowed to show more information.  They do have the hardware guy and have piece together what the system going to be.  I think hardware guy knows how to program drivers for the hardware, so I think that's done.  More programmers on hand is a good thing.  I think they are grasping at straws trying to bash this system.  I think there's plenty of time to mass produce unit before launch date.  And Tommy has to make time to sign 2600 founder's edition Amicos.

    It's not about the money - they need to learn they can't just spout bullshit about people. They're trying to damage Tommy's reputation. I really don't get it. At least it would teach them a lesson and shut them up.

    I don't know Tommy but he was nice enough to even chat to me on my channel. Now, I'm not a YouTuber. I hardly ever upload stuff, I really just wanted to ask a few questions and let anyone who was interested also get those answers. He's super open, friendly and genuinely a good dude from what I can tell. I don't imagine Phil Spencer or Garth from Wayne's World at Sony would give me that time.

    Those two Muppets Pat and Ian just come across as petty little assholes. I have no idea why they're trying to take Tommy down other than to try and claw back some of the views they got during the Coleco Chameleon thing.

    I should also add I was super doubtful about the Amico originally, despite being a fan of Tommy's work. But as more info came out I changed my mind and pre-ordered a founder's edition.

    So I just watched the latest Pat and Ian video on YouTube where they each gave their opinions about which console they'd play for the rest of their life should there only be one.

    To my surprise it wasnt bad at all, but what struck me most was Ian's argument about the PC Engine and GameBoy being the ones he'd choose, mainly because of the type of game he enjoys, shooter and mahjong games, but also that:

    he could have access to many games that he can play for short periods of time and have fun with (45 mins);

    he can log his scores in;

    they are simple games that he can access quickly;

    boot up time;

    He finally went a chose the PC Engine because he prefers to have a game console for TV.

    Seems to me that if a shooter game and a mahjong game was made available on Amico, he'd like it

    😉

    Haha, I just finished watching that too. I even commented. I now feel dirty...

    Yo Juice,

    Really confused by your post.

    You're opening line is...  "Tommy dear god show some game footage or something."

    I'm guessing you may not be on our mailing list?   That is exactly what we did today!

    I don't mean to embarrass you... I'm just trying to figure out why someone would open with that... when that is exactly what we did today.

    I would recommend not watching all those negative videos based on misinformation and twisting of the facts.  The only "desperate" videos I see are from the same negative obsessed ding dongs.  Even talking about my "desktop" and making up complete fabricated lies about "Banana Pie"... or the latest...  our job postings FOR ACCESSORIES AND PERIPHERALS FOR 2021 & 2022.  Desperate videos stating that you don't need an Amico console or our controllers to play our "mobile" games is pathetically dumb and shows that people spend more time on trying to come up with negative spins as opposed to actually... oh... I don't know... doing ANY research what-so-ever.  How about desperate videos claiming that we don't have a working machine and working system and firmware when we've already showed the entire thing working back in March (see our Missile Command & Sideswiper videos).

    Yes... they are desperate.... not us.

    We are holding back all information because we're doing a big streamed online press conference (more info coming soon!).

    If we do get delayed (will know by the end of this month) then people are more than welcome to give up their Founders Editions or VIP Editions.   I'd rather put out a system that is 100% fun, tested and WORKS than to just rush it out based on a special personal date to me that I picked 3 years ago.

    You are correct. Not a single person was banned from here because they had a difference of opinion or they didn't like me or Amico.  They got banned because they didn't follow the forum rules.  Maybe @jaybird3rd can give a few general overviews of WHY people were banned.  It's not what those folks are saying... that's for sure.

    Anyway... I know you're not interested in a back and forth argument... and I hope this response doesn't come across that way.  Just giving you some real info as to the reality of the situation.

    Thanks for stopping by and being a part of the conversation.

    Hey Tommy,

    I didn’t receive any email either and it’s not in my spam - is there a way to see this new game footage? I really want to check it out.

    As for the golden tickets... how were they procured? Would I have been assigned one when I pre-ordered the founders edition? Sorry for the dumb questions, been away from the forum for a bit. Lol.

    Chur!

    EDIT: Never mind, I have since discovered you get them when you buy merch, haha. Still wanna see this new gameplay video though! Can’t find anything online...

  4. Hey Tommy, sorry if this has been asked, but the thread is now massive so - has the virus altered the release date? I ordered the founders' edition for the man cave but pretty certain I'll pick up a black one for the lounge too :D

    I haven't been this excited about a console launch since the original Xbox. It's always fun to have a "new player"! Not that you guys are new but you know what I mean :)

    As I'm sure you know, this accessory is cheap and works and just sticks on to your controller making it a joystick. Been around since the 80's. Worked well just had to be careful when storing it or when throwing the controller at your brothers as we did back in the 80s.   Well not exactly throw, growing up with all brothers we never passed a controller civilly, instead you of course pulled the controller as far from the system as possible so when you let go it was like a rubberband and ziinged toward your brother.  You always scored extra if you could hit vour brother in the nuts doing that.  ahh good times.

    What exactly have you been doing to that controller!?!? Whatever it is, stop before there’s a big mess!

    Yo!,

    Thanks for the interview!  Was fun to talk to a fellow retro lover and of course... member of AA!

    You should tag the video with the word Intellivision and Amico (other good ones are "retro" and of course... "Atari").  More people will eventually see it when they search.

    Thanks again!

    I thought I did tag it with Intellivision and Amico... will check...

    EDIT: Yup, I did. I added Atari though ;)

    Thanks again, it was heaps of fun!

    Making a good multiplayer graphic adventure must be difficult. Several users have suggested Tommy some great ideas in the Q&A topic. I hope Tommy can come up a few great games in this original and unexplored genre. For reference, several board games have attempted something similar, such as Choose your Own Adventure (the board game) and Adventure Games.

    How would you make a multiplayer "graphic adventure", perhaps with elements from Cluedo or hidden object mobile games (modern pixel hunting games), for the Amico? Let the brainstorming begin!

    I think this is the best idea in the history of ideas. Instead of randomly getting killed by an ogre when you take a wrong turn you could run into the other players. No one would know where each other is but they'd have their own map on the controller screen so there's no need to draw as you go. That could be incredibly entertaining.

    You could all be racing to "rescue the princess" or whatever and it'd be up to you to choose whether to fight or not when you encounter another player - you wouldn't know what gear the other player had so it could be risky engaging in combat.

    And after writing all that I just realised you'd have to play it on your controller screen or everyone would know where each other is on the telly with split screen. lol. Oh well...

  8. PSA: I'm starting a YouTube series called "A Fat Guy Talks to People" and in the first episode I talk to none other than @Tommy Tallarico

    We discuss Tommy's background and of course, the Amico, clearing up a few things such as controller misconceptions etc.

    Don't expect a professional podcast based on prior research. As it says in the title, I'm fat. I'm fat because I'm lazy. Also, I just like to talk crap with people rather than "interview" them so there are stories from both of us.

    Anyway, the first ep is rendering now. I really need to look into how to speed this up as it's saying it's gonna take 17 hours! All going well, I'll upload tomorrow and link here.

    Massive thanks to Tommy for taking the time to talk to a YouTube nobody from New Zealand. It was loads of fun and he's a bloody great guy. I'm honoured and humbled to have such an epic "guinea pig" for my first ep! Not sure how I'll back this up with following eps... lol

    Most of you may only know me from Intellivision... or from some of my soundtracks in the past.

    If interested, here's a little look at my "weekend" job I do about once a month now (it used to be once a week!).

    I typically play to anywhere from 2,000 - 5,000 people a night.  It's going to be a GREAT way to promote Amico all over the world as I play the trailer at the beginning of the show and at the end of the 20 minute intermission (right before Act II starts) and, I talk about it on stage towards the end of the show... about bringing people together, etc.

    Dude, if you don't do a show in New Zealand we can't be friends anymore :P

    I believe he means favorite sounding name, not favorite consoles. I can understand the first two, the last three, not really ...PS1, PS2,PS3, etc. , basically the same name.

    That'll learn me for reading too quickly.

    In that case, in no particular order:

    Force 2

    Dreamcast

    Jaguar

    Xbox

    Turbografx 16

    EDIT: Replace Turbofgrafx 16 with SuperGrafx :D and an honourable mention: FM Towns Marty - hahaha.

    I wont get Into the irony of their thinking about Atari supposedly not winning the 80s console wars or only old people being interested in Atari.

    I'm 43. I'd stay at an Atari hotel. Not because of any nostalgia - I never had an Atari as a kid - but because I'm into anything game related. I think they fail to see this. I mean how many folk wear Atari t-shirts and caps? And not one of them is "old".

    These two fail to realise that not everyone is like them. Sadly a lot of these YouTube "celebrities" seem to think the world revolves around them.
