  1. Played the hell out of that on C64 as a kid. My mates and I had so much fun throwing our 'wives', haha. You could never make that game these days! Haha. Also, it had a cooler name on C64 - Caveman Ugh-lympics.
  2. Yeah, I bought the 64GB version on launch. Can't say I've needed the extra space... I think you're right to wait.
  3. Okay, I've tried a few times in the past and failed but I finally have my head around how asm works (thanks to studying computer science and touching on it at uni) and I found a Udemy course on how to program in assembly by making a 2600 game - seems pretty good, so far though I don't assume it will get into super advanced techniques. I'm just stoked there is a course like this available in 2020 (and I've actually learnt new stuff in areas I thought I had covered). Now it's not my chosen console but it's a good place to start as many other systems have some sort of 6502 within. I reckon the limitations of the system will make things very interesting and fun! So yeah, I'm just gonna mess about making a few silly small games and demos and I'll be sure to show them off here and drop by for advice Wish me luck!
  4. As a New Zealander I feel your name is cultural appropriation 🤣🤣🤣 That was the Nintendo Switch post full of boobies, wasn't it.
  5. I have to say this one cracks me up. 30-40 games is a CRAP TONNE of games for a launch. Not sure why they thought 'under 40' or even 'under 30' was bad. Most consoles launch with just a handful of games. I mean ten games on launch is more than enough to provide a lot of variety and as a bonus, if there were only ten games on launch I could afford all of them on Amico Actually, now that I think about it - it may be the only console I'll ever be able to buy every game for as it's released!
  6. I loved those - I was a big fan of the Car Wars series, by Steve Jackson. So much fun as a kid. The fantasy ones were cool, too. And I agree - your idea sounds epic. EDIT: It seems they are printing the Fighting Fantasy books again: https://www.bookdepository.com/Fighting-Fantasy-Citadel-Chaos-Steve-Jackson/9781407181257?ref=grid-view&qid=1578176450876&sr=1-1 No Car Wars though
  7. All this Amico vs Nintendo vs the other two talk is silly. Just buy every console and be happy. Haha. Now that I think about it... I have bought (and sold) literally every mainstream console and hendheld since the Master System... I need help... or at least focus - my backlog is bigger than a hot dog eating champion's!
  8. I've never encountered disc rot. Hope I never do as I have a fair bit of PSX, PS2 and Saturn stuff in my collection. I actually only started collecting disc based games again this year. I'd kinda gone off the whole moving parts console idea but the games are cheaper and I figured I'd build collections before prices get out of hand like they have for older systems.
  9. Well when you put it that way... haha.
  10. Dude, Shinobi is my fave arcade game of all time. If you get that licence I may have to kiss you.
  11. You know what game is like to see return? Nebulus! In think it was called Tower Toppler and/or Castelian in the US. Anyway, the C64 version was incredible. It'd be awesome to have a 4 player split screen version, players racing to the top. Or even some sort of mechanic that requires players to work together to get up the tower. Talk to Hewson. I'll code it! Haha.
  12. I think it’s possibly nostalgia for me as it’s the first one I saw (in the theatre, too). But yeah, I love the Ewoks too! It’s the movie that introduced me to Star Wars.
  13. I need a copy of that game. I’d always avoided it because I’d assumed it was the same game as the MD version which I didn’t really like. Apparently it’s different though and much better. Shame it’s a bit pricey now.
  14. Lol that's the second time I've been quoted and the Terminator CD soundtrack was mentioned today - the first was by the composer himself, haha. I should add that Emulation Station is fantastic on Pi but I haven't and I'm not going to put it on the mini. I'll stick with stock menu which means MD games only
  15. This is true. TBH I kinda like all of them, even the "rubbish" ones. I'm a Star Wars fan but I don't get overly involved or invested in the stories. I just like to be entertained. Return of the Jedi is my fave, followed either by Rogue One or Force Awakens I really liked Solo, too.
  16. Tempted to mod mine but those Retroarch and Boot Menu icons trigger my OCD. I want it to look 100% stock and just add the games I own. Guess I'll leave it untouched and continue Sega gaming on my Blast 16 powered MegaPi
  17. At the end of the day, Star Wars movies are kids' movies. We should really let them be the judge, haha.
  18. It'll never get through the Tommy Police with the word 'hate' in there. Hehehe.
  19. Hell of a lot better than 1, 2 and 3 and he was heavily involved in those!
  20. That really would just be a competitor for the PS5, Switch and Xbox, though, wouldn't it?
  21. Is it wrong that I kinda want one as a neat looking little PC? I mean it's not THAT pricey if you compare it to similar spec'd PCs and it looks a lot cooler. Weird way of marketing it though...
