  1. Not in New Zealand. We only recognise one sport - rugby. Haha.
  2. Haha yeah I was thinking about Beavis and Butthead when I read cornhole. TBH I had no idea it was even a game until Tommy said it. I guess it’s an American thing?
  3. Yeah, if you think of it as a PC it's not bad value at all - at least if you already have a Windows licence or intend to use Linux.
  4. I actually think it's a neat looking PC. Problem is I don't think it'd be powerful enough to replace my current rig so I'd have no use for it. I do like the style of the thing but I'm not buying one just for that. Would be an expensive paperweight! But hey, if I needed a PC and wasn't going to be doing any heavy lifting on it I'd definitely consider it. But yeah, it's an oddball...
  5. Awesome. That solves the issue of rolling it off the table, trying to find the thing and people yelling "THAT DOESN'T COUNT" when you roll a six on the floor, hahaha!
  6. Dude, I got the recent rerelease of that and baseball - so much fun
  7. I like the idea of shaking the dice in your hand (controller) then throwing it into the table (TV screen). Haha.
  8. But think of the YT tantrum vids when they take the PS4 off him 😁
  9. I saw a mate I hadn't seen in 26 years today. Told him about the Amico and as I described it being family focussed etc his eyes lit up and he said "that's what I want!". Went on to say his son never gets off Fortnite and he's keen to get the Amico for the family to play. He was also pissed off that a mobile skating game he downloaded STILL had ads after paying $13.99. Apparently you need a $10 monthly subscription to remove them. Another reason for the Amico
  10. I'll definitely be picking up an Amico for the quick fixes/family fun and Xbox Series X for the in depth AAA titles - Hellblade II looks stupidly real!!! I'm more excited about Amico though as it's something new. Not often we get to see a new console from a new company release - unlike in the '90s where it seemed to happen every week, haha. Don't know much about PS5 yet but I get the feeling a lot of the exclusives will be Xbox this time around.
  11. I sold my NOS C64 a couple of years back and I also had another mint in box one I sold - I was getting wary of the ancient hardware so this thing is perfect for me (I'm not an original hardware or nothing guy - if it's original and it provides a good experience I'm in). The release has been delayed twice here in NZ so I'm hoping my pre-order gets filled this Friday! I have the mini too and it's pretty cool but the joystick SUCKS and the virtual keyboard is annoying.
  12. As the title says, if you have one - add me! I'm mantanz (all lower case) on there too Keen to hear what people are playing on it too. I tend to mainly play BoxVR and Thrill of the FIght to help lose some weight
  13. I'd be very surprised if it couldn't run Minecraft as that runs on a Raspberry Pi. But yeah, those are exactly the type of games Intellivision wants to avoid. Kids locking themselves in their rooms for hours on end is hardly casual gaming family time 😂 You know some other consoles that were "underpowered"? Wii and Switch. They seemed to do okay 😁
  14. The fact that they're different target audiences means by definition they're not in competition with each other. I severely doubt anyone ever went looking for a family car and came home with a Ferrari and vice versa. Of course there will be some crossover in regards to the Amico/PS5/Switch etc. I mean I'm not really the target market for the Amico but I still want one because it looks like a way to get my partner (and son when he's old enough) into gaming and I'm looking forward to couch co-op with mates. Hehe, so maybe I am the target market. Also I don't see it as underpowered. It's probably capable of playing 99% of available indie titles now. Next gen AAA titles? No... but that's kinda the point. EDIT: You're right - it will have a niche market in the hardcore gamer realm. When it comes to casual gamers - that arena is wide open so it could do very, very well.
  15. A Toyota Corolla is a car. So is a Ferrari F8. You drive them. Does that mean they’re in competition with each other?
  16. 43 Auckland, New Zealand (pretty bloody south but no country music! - lol). Poison, Guns 'N' Roses, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Motley Crue, Skid Row Those who know New Zealand would know from my taste in music that I lived in West Auckland - the native inhabitants are known simply as "westies" or "bogans" and listen to hard rock/metal and wear black jeans and black woollen jumpers, no matter the weather. And don't get me started on the hair! I grew out of that stage
  17. I absolutely love the design, tbh. Sadly I'll have to lie it down to fit in the cabinet, though. Haha. With 100% backwards compatibility (I recently got rid of my X360 physical games - doh!) I'll definitely pick one up but probably not at launch. Wait until price drops a wee bit. One thing about the design though - it doesn't look like a "console". No console has since the Dreamcast. They've all gone for the AV equipment look. The Amico marks the return of console aesthetics! Haha.
  18. See, the problem with that is I've never had an Intellivision, yet I want the Amico. In fact, it is because of Amico I hunted down Intellivision Lives for PS2 as I'm interested in the history. Same with my other gaming mates. No one in NZ had one. We're just interested in all things gaming and the Amico looks to be loads of fun.
  19. I really love the design of it and if the 100% backwards compatibility rumours are true I'm all in - only I recently traded in all my 360 games. Doh! Oh well, I still have my og Xbox games to play on it I wonder if I'll be able to download the 200 or so digital games I own on 360? Oh and that Hellblade II trailer - OMFG!!! Guess I'm buying an an Amico AND an Xbox next year. I hope the PS5 doesn't look equally amazing or I'll be very poor...
  20. Great, I deleted the pointless dig at P&I not being as big as they think and you quoted me. Haha. Ah, the internet...
  21. Moon Patrol is multiplayer. One player is the buggy, the others the enemies and it rotates so everyone has a go being each. I think this is neat as you try to get is far as you can then try to stop the others from beating your distance. But anyway, every game MUST be multiplayer on Amico. They've made it very clear that the take turns approach is not what they're after. Comparing it to mobile is ridiculous IMO - handing a mobile phone around is great fun for those who aren't playing or can't see what's happening in the this screen Yeah the problem with removing ads these days is it's often not just a one off payment. Subscriptions seem to be flavor of the month. And then there's the crap ton of shovelware on mobile stores (and Steam). The Amico solves all these issues. Sure, it's fine to be skeptical, I was, but to spout crap about it without even doing a tiny bit of research is disingenuous. That's the issue I have with Pat and Ian. They just can't see anyone else's points. But yeah, you're probably right. Take the "just ignore them and they'll go away" approach.
