As far as a good, free MIDI sequencer, have you tried Anvil Studio? I use it in the same situation (USB -> MIDI), and it works pretty good for my purposes. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing some Bentley Bear BGM!!

First off, sorry if this has been mentioned here before- I searched around the forum and couldn't find anything about it. I was shopping around on eBay for 8-bit carts, when I noticed that someone was selling a copy of "Star Raider". I was like "hmm... no, I think your selling a copy of Star Raiders", but I checked out the picture and sure enough: "Star Raider" listing eBay Auction -- Item Number: 140647645507 Has anyone ever seen this before? If so, how common is it? I realize this isn't the most amazing Atari discovery of all time, but just thought I'd bring it up for anyone who's interested in this kinda stuff.

In the description, he says that it was "professionally sealed for a collection", so I guess he's not lieing- just being very disingenuous. I hate to sound naive, but are there people that actually do this? (in regards to "re-sealing" systems/controllers/ac and tv adapters for collection pieces) In any case, that is DEFINITELY the best deal on a "sealed w/o box" lot I've seen in a long, long time!! What the hell is wrong with people?

Well, I cut out the fuse and soldered a piece of wire in, and nothing changed. Except now the lights won't even come on every time I try to power on (it takes anywhere from 4-10 tries). I don't know, I'll go through it again with the multimeter, but it's not looking too good. We might be looking at the next "For Parts" Sega CD on eBay .

*Update* I took it apart again and starting poking around in there with a multimeter. I found that the F1 fuse next to the ac jack was burned out (after doing some research, it seems like a common problem), so I ordered some of these and we'll see if that fixes the problem.... *crosses fingers*

Wait a minute, you might program more for the 7800 if you had more RAM to work with and a better sound chip? What is this- some kind of sick advertising scheme for the XM?!?! .....

Hey all!! I just bought a Model 1 Sega CD, and I'm having problems with it. The problem: When I hook up a good-working-condition Model 1 Genny to it, I get a black screen- whether or not a cartridge is in the Genny. HOWEVER(!), the Ready and the Access lights light up for about a second, then turn off. This makes me think that there is hope. Things to note: I only have one Sega brand AC adapter (which I'm plugging into the Sega CD, I'm using a universal adapter for the Genesis that works just fine when it's not plugged into the Sega CD). I'm a bit lacking in the "hardcore electrical knowledge" category, but I opened it up and there wasn't anything obviously wrong with it. I think that's about it... except for The solution: But I guess this is where you guys come in. Thanks in advance!!

So first you shit on his topic asking why people are greedily spending money on "them selfs" right before Christmas, follow up with another jab at how only rich people can do that in an effort to make people feel bad for no other reason than they can afford it and you can't, and then you inquire you want to buy a cart from him, lol, too funny man..... Well, ZX Spectrum has obviously only a beeper so what do you expect? But at least it is fully capable of reproducing the notes correctly. Only a very few games tend to sound out of tune, because they use very special tricky routines to "enhance" the basic beeps... So, the question is: can these Atari 7800 games, like Donkey Kong, Ninja Golf, etc etc. be fixed so that the music plays right. Because honestly, Donkey Kong on Atari 7800 is nothing more than irritating with that completely out of tune sound... Atari 7800 is by far the most mistuned system I have ever come across... - judging from the real games!!! edit: for those who think ZX Spectrum with its 1-bit beeper sucks check out the following video... it's all Z80 driven obviously (plus there's AY doing the cymbals) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ses2wOj43pU WHOA!! Thanks for the video! Not only did that song rock, but the screenshots from the game made it look pretty cool... (having never owned one) it definitely changed my mind about ZX Spectrum's sound capabilities.
