  1. I second Utopia (Intellivision) and Herzog Zwei (Genesis). Perhaps a case could be made for Vectron (Intellivision). It was so far ahead of it's time that we still don't understand it lol.
  2. Fair enough. Afraid I don't have one for trade, but stick around the forums and one will turn up. It would certainly help to make a list of items that you want to trade, instead of a generic mention of "Xbox, Dreamcast, Gamecube, GBA, etc items"
  3. For Rayman Origins, he can be bad as long as you are playing with him. When one player dies, they respawn in a bubble that floats along unharmed until the other player pops him out of it. So if there are tough parts, the kiddo will probably die but you can bring him right back in. It's perfect for playing with a little one. Some other kid friendly games: Toy Story 3, Marvel Super Hero Squad: Infinity Gauntlet and LittleBigPlanet
  4. The UltiMultiCart is a must-own for any Astrocade owner. Is @kenzre still making these? When I bought mine (about 5 or 6 years ago?), he told me he would soon stop making them.
  5. My stepson really, REALLY loved the How To Train Your Dragon game at that age. Rayman Origins is also a blast - it's 2p coop and you'll likely need to help him through certain parts, but it's one of the best 2D platformers ever (Rayman Legends is even better).
  6. 4 Vectrexes and you're looking for another one?! OK it's not market speculators, it's you that's the problem! Kidding, kidding @adamchevy I am scratching my head as to why you'd want to put that much money down on an new/unopened Vectrex when you already have one or more that you can play right now. Also, when you refer to a "mint" Vectrex, do you mean without box or complete in box?
  7. No idea, but give us your thoughts if you do pick it up.
  8. Holy moly, that's just insane. It really makes me pause to appreciate the stuff I have when I read crap like this.
  9. Could it be related to an auto-update feature?
  10. Now that you mention it, mine was on the other evening and I hadn't turned it on. TV was on though. Could it have something to do with HDMI-CEC? (apologies if I got the spelling wrong). It is on by default on my console, but I haven't dug deep and not sure how it all works. I just like that when I press the PS button to start the PS5, it will turn my tv on as well.
  11. No need to be that extreme. You can just decrease the trigger vibration on each game as needed. I would only suggest to leave the console set up horizontally instead of vertically, and of course put the circular stand under there. (My friend has his horizontally but thought the stand was only for vertical orientation.) Enjoy and happy gaming!!
  12. There are 8K LCD tvs out there, but as of now PS5 can only output images at 8K, not video. At least that's my understanding. I think we'll have to wait until the PS6 to see real 8K for AAA games. That video is interesting though. It shows the PS5 can render some games in native 8K if the polygon count is low enough, which can be downscaled to 4K for a sharper image. Pretty cool!
  13. Agreed, loving mine too! We had a blast with Dirt 5 and lately have been playing a silly game called Wreckfest. Some racing but also lots of over-the-top demolition derby events, sometimes on riding lawnmowers or "sofa cars". It's hilarious, dumb fun. About a week ago, I finished AC Valhalla after about 120 hours. I see my friend online also playing it on his PS4, and it pains me to think how slooooow those loading times must be. Ugh! Last night I finished Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition and holy shit... what an amazing game! I started a new game+ with Virgil and it's just so damn fun. The eyecandy is incredible too. Next up, Resident Evil Village. 2022 should be a great year for more AAA titles too.
  14. Most of those will require a pretty heavy time investment, which makes it hard to pick one (for you). While I happen to think Fallout 3 is one of the best games ever made, it'll take a while to play through. I would pick Batman Arkham Asylum from your list. Everyone really loved it (even me and I'm not a comic book guy) and it's not punishingly long. Based on your post though, I would recommend Rayman Origins or LittleBigPlanet. Both are pure, simple fun.
  15. This noob has never used Discord and knows nothing about it. I have just about every major collection archived and the last few years, I've only seeded (not much else I want or need). Still, I had several unused free tickets and always looked forward to the free torrents around Xmas-time. Ah well, RIP Pleasuredome.
  16. Holy crap! Do you have any other information about this? Any idea what happened??
  17. I highly recommend Grind Stormer, Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse and OutRun.
  18. Hey congrats! My main suggestion would be to buy a laptop cooler for it, and rest it on that while you play. Overheating is a known issue so just treat it gently. I can't speak to recapping though. Enjoy!
  19. Ha! What a fucking joke. No interest in Horse Farm?? You don't want to see Bibi and Tina's epic battle on the final Glue Factory level?? I somewhat agree it looks like a huge mess, but not really. Just business as usual. I wouldn't say any ideas in this thread are wrong, but it seems like some are overthinking it. People buy physical games, play them, and sell them. I played through Ratchet & Clank over Labor Day weekend, got the platinum (only takes 10-15 hours), and though I won't be selling my copy I imagine a lot of people will - which of course will cause the price to fall. Now is actually a great time to be picking up PS5 games. I can't imagine paying $70 for some of these.
  20. I'm sure all of us know that, unfortunately, prices for all retro games have been climbing over the years. Though I *love* Karl Jobst's video posted above, I don't think it's relevant here. Those allegations relate to 1) sealed games 2) graded by WATA and 3) sold through Heritage Auctions.
  21. Indeed, excellent game and I'll watch your video at home this evening. I had to check about the going price for Cannon Spike (on GameValueNow which shows $300 complete, haven't checked eBay) and wow, that's truly insane. It seems like just yesterday DC games were $5-10 in the Blockbuster bargain bins. Hell, even common early games like Dynamite Cop are almost $100 now?!! That can't be right can it? I still have my original CS from bitd and it's a blast to play, but never would have expected it to become so valuable. No one wanted it when it was current since everyone was gaga over PS2. I suppose that's true for every underdog console over the years though.
  22. I finished my (loose cart) 7800 collection this year myself by finally picking up Scrapyard Dog. Congrats!
  23. My (used) 3DO came with the loose disc in the drive, so I guess you could say it was the first 3DO game I ever got. I'd say the price was right lol
  24. I think both answers above are correct. Lack of demand (while people wait to procure their consoles) and sure, likely many games being sold on eBay weren't obtained properly. I would also mention that we're now seeing the shovelware start to come. Paying $70 for a title is daunting but now we are seeing games like Curved Space and Balan Wonderworld launching at $20. Don't know much about them, but people who do own the console would be more likely to pick up a mediocre game at $20, just to have a new PS5 game to play. Heck, I know of at least 2 games that are only $10-$12 on Amazon right now: Crazy Chicken Shooter Edition and Bibi and Tina at the Horse Farm. I can't imagine anyone actually wanting to play those Wii-caliber turds, but someone must be buying that crap.
