I'm glad that you won it. I would've bid on it myself, but I had just won this package myself: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1941791107

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=11321 And this isn't too bad a deal either, as all items seem to be boxed.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5&category=3537 Of course, that "original box" might be held together just with scotch tape at this point...

Rare versions of Warbirds and Checkered Flag
davidcalgary29 replied to SwedenLynxer's topic in Atari Lynx
Here's a response from Telegames, which essentially reiterates a few earlier posts in this thread: -
I keep seeing "Demon Attack" carts for sale...everywhere! Just how many of these things DID they make? Could as many units have been produced as, say, Atari's "Basic" cartridge?
-
Yeah, I tried griping about the XE version on another thread awhile back, but it sure does seem to have a lot of fans around! Oh, well -- at least it WAS ported over to the 8-bits!

Question for those in the US I've traded with
davidcalgary29 replied to AtariLeaf's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I think that you can blame at least part (or most) of the holdup on Canada Customs. I recently received a package from Carl Forhan on which he listed the contents as being "Atari (Jaguar) games"; CC processed the package as "nintendo games"...and held the package at the border for a few days. Bet that green PCB Lynx card really threw them for a loop. Meanwhile, another order from the 'States has been held up at the border for two weeks because some customs agent could only identify a Jaguar + games as "computer parts". Instead of writing "gift" on every package, I think it'd be simpler to state "it's NOT Nintendo, stupid!" -
"Blue Lightning 2 -- at last, better than the Lynx!"

I'd rather pay $250 for a really great game that I'll play thousands of times rather than $50 a pop for a few mediocre titles that I'll put away after a few tries. Besides, when BSG is made available again, I'm sure it will be sold at the more competitive $150-170 range.
-
I have to agree with Carl's comments. I thought that Lexis, in particular, was reviewed rather poorly at IGN. I suppose that it's either one of those games that you either love or hate, but I can say that I've played it nonstop since it arrived in the mail.

Any thoughts on rating the rarity of joysticks/ game controllers? I've run across some pretty bizarre joysticks over the past few months, and thought it might be interesting to find out just how many of the things were actually made!
-
I've just finished playing yet another round of "Missile Command" on the 2600, and couldn't help but think that the 8-bit version seems to be a really poor port of the VCS'...with graphics that are inferiorto that of the 2600's. Are there any other examples of 8-bit games being inferior to those on their 2600 predecessors?
-
Is $80 US a good deal for a Dreamcast system with 15 games? I don't yet know the titles, and will assume for the moment that they're pretty common. The system comes with one controller.

A friend gave me two copies of "Missile Command" yesterday. Both copies of the game, work well, and there are no internal differences, but I note that the game title on the spine of one cartridge is in upper-case letters; they are in lower-case letters on the other. In addition, the small type on the front of each cartridge is different. Both games are dated 1981. Can anyone tell me why these carts are different?
-
Damn! And I wanted that copy of Astriods, too!

Does anybody know if one game was released for ALL the Atari consoles? The closest that I could come up with was: Missile Command: 2600/5200/XEGS/Lynx/Jaguar -- No dedicated 7800 Asteroids: 2600/5200/7800/XEGS/Lynx -- No Jaguar ...but did Atari, or another company, ever release a game for all of Atari's systems?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4&category=3537 Hmm....

Well, we all knew the answer to this one, but I contacted UbiSoft anyway. From UbiSoft support: Note how they ignored the rest of my question...
-
"Winter Games" was released for the 8-bits? I'd be interested in that one!
-
Thanks...but I just managed to get a copy from a local supplier!
-
Really? Does this mean that you have an extra copy to sell me?
-
Does this mean I got lucky? Or do you think that the seller's going to try to sneak a fast one and send me a 2600 "Summer Games" instead? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...3001717719&rd=1

Clarification: any reviews that COMPARE the games for the two systems.

I love "Scrapyard Dog" on the Lynx. Can anyone recommend for the 7800? I haven't seen any reviews posted...anywhere!

I finally got my ST to work...but still only have a monochrome monitor! Can anyone recommend some good mono games to me?
