  1. well if someone ever made one and it was decent price.. id buy it in asecond and theres at least a thousand more who would.. that sounds like capitalism to me.. if theres a buck to be made theres a buck to be made. however it doesnt have to have the atari name.. maybe its time to start IRATA computers =)
  2. If you have one left ill take one to 01702
  3. Does any one have a shell account i could use though in the meantime to compile these J2p sources?
  4. good job so far.. I like it.. i was wondering if theres any way we can spruce up the graphics a little... Also... still cant get in the ship with the gun or without the gun. I like it though =)
  5. Journey to the planets and a VBXE remake of Rescue on fractalus would be most Key.
  6. I wish it was still 94. we'd still have nirvana, and the dead. and elliot smith and atari would still be a functioning (somewhat) company.
  7. I spent many work breaks reading and loving BOFH =) I think the 850 is a great idea.. Can i use the emulated 850 that is available or should i go on ebay and find a real 850 with the P: R: connect. No i Know i agree with you about telnet I worked level 2 tech support for dell for 2 years. and ive been a sys admin for 3 ISP's from the mid 90's to about 2005. I was just asking.. because APE had telnet built in if there was also a way to build in SSH to APE. steve would have to answer that. Ive been using Atari 8-bits since i was 7 years old in 1985. I have an atari 130xe, 1200xl, 800xl and my pride and joy ATARI ST. thats my other question ill have to look around for.. if there is an SSH for ST i can use the MIDI network i have... but i havent found it yet. However i do have a firm handle on ASM/Action! and if i had your help with the way SSH authenticates (and yes i agree the atari is wayyy to slow.. so i will have to have the authentication code structure on the winblows side. yes i know i could use my unix box.... i have a knoppix box and a slackware box. (been using slackware since 1.2.13 in 1993.) I just want a nice winblows alternative to the unix boxes because not everyone runs unix. I have successfully ran BitchX and IRSSI under ICE-T.. and i have used BitchX since 1995.. i prefer it for my IRC client... it was a pain to get the emulation right on ICE-T though.. =)
  8. Ok so i think im going to search the polish pages just to make sure they havent already done this.. im suprised someone didnt think ofthis before.. i guess i can put journey to the planets on theback burner for awhile to develop this.
  9. Ok time to start thinking on how to build an SSH client for the atari that would work thru the APE interface. this is gonna be fun.
  10. Thank you this is what i needed... I didnt know windows services had ssh open thru the telnet server.. excellent idea.. i originally just telnetted straight to my shell from the atari.. via ape.. I wonder though if steve might wanna throw in SSH on the next version of ape. as for a real client on the real atari hardware, ill see what i can whip up in ASM or TurboBasic.
  11. HI is there a way to do SSH on the real atari hardware thru APE. My old shell provider who provided telnet access to me went out of buisness I have another shell but it is SSH only.. is there any SSH clients or is there a way i can get APE to do SSH. If not does any one have a free telnet shell account i can use my atari from? also i need it to compile the sources for the journey to the planet remake were doing. yes i am also making BSD/Unix/Linux ports as well. =) *hopefully*
  12. hey metalguy how much would it cost to upgrade my current 1200xl to something like this? Should i just go buy this or get you to upgrade my current one? I also wanna get a VBXE as well =)
  13. Ill take it.. how much do u want for it? also i have another 1200xl u could upgrade too. email me [email protected]
  14. I use my atari everyday.. I use it as a telnet box, IRC box, and also use it as a backdoor to my bbs. I use it as a synthesizer/drum machine for some ofmy songs.. in conjunction with mypc for mixing I use it as a visual meditation device with colourspace and alittle bit of herbage. I use it as a wardialing machine to check my phone lines and bbs dialup lines.. i also used to use it when i worked at first alliance to test out dialup banks... (circa 1997) I use it as a programming coding machine... usually just basic..but 20 years later im still getting better at asm.. I use it as a gaming system... I use it. alot. power without the price!
  15. see this is how the atari cougar could be built, it could play all the systems.. PLUS we some how modify it to have greater memory expansion and things such as MYIDE and sio 2 usb.. and the like.. maybe we could convince the new owners of atari to get back in the console buisness.
  16. maybe we could use these to develop the cougar like i was talking about... =) mebbe make super atari 8 bits =)
  17. this is why i posted this here. pure west baby.. pure west. also metal guy im almost ready to do my 130xe.. but do you know how to do my 1200xl to 7.16mhz *(i saw that other thread)* mebbe we could do the upgrades to my 1200xl instead =)
  18. Alternative C. A Mix of a and b to create C. We could prehaps have a intel based system with a motorola expansion board that would read the old atari chipset commands.. add xio ports so you could attach your old atari hardware as well... when i speak of developing new games.. possibly base it off of jaguar but better due to the more expanded hardware.. prehaps we could develop a prototype and present it to the current atari owners and say hey.. lets do this.
  19. Part A. remember that april fools joke a few years ago: The Atari 15600 promises to offer more power than 12 PS3s, 36 Xbox 360s, or 156 Nintendo Wii consoles (the inspiration behind the number in the console’s snazzy name?). Don’t believe me? Just check out these system specs. The thing’s a bloody beast: One 1TB hard drive One 80GB hard drive 16GB AF3-15600 DDR4 2666MHz RAM AF 15600 Dual Core Hyperion-DX Processor at 6.4 GHz Two custom NVidia GTXi732 Graphics Processors a 8GB each 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 Four USB 3.0 inputs Two SD card slots Well what if we made a proposal to make a new atari console that would run ALL previous atari software plus develop new games that would rival a 360.. and do it at a marketable price.. prehaps 3.0ghz dual core would be cheaper... call it the Atari COUGAR. it would be great... B. also the alternative if possibly we didnt do it thru emulation. is to get motorola to develop a new chip set that reads ALL the previous code of the older chipsets (im going to talk to a motorola rep to see if that is possible.) also.. C.
  20. couldyou prehaps post these roms so we can expiriment with this as well =)
  21. This is gonna be great when this is finished.
  22. Gorf, do you know where we could find the guy who made journey to the planets, we want to make a modern version for PC.. I know its jack verson, but i can't find him any where. Also.. loved your work on Neon, and Ive had colour space since 1984 on my atari 800xl and 130xe. I also have a working atari stf 1040. Also where can i find a copy of colourspace for st? I would LOVE to see the ST Version. Do you your self still have a copy of it? If u still sell it could i buy a copy? Do you still own the llama's. I did a report on YOUR llamas back in middle school. I got a B+.
