I have a broken SNES ac adapter which used to work only when I tilted it the right way, now it won't power on at all. So I've been using this new power adapter but I think the new one is causing my SNES to show green lines on the screen on a couple games due to it's low voltage. Anyway what is the procedure to fix these?

This might seem like an odd question but I was wondering if anyone knows how popular pinball machines are in Japan. By that I mean the pinball machines that are popular here in the States. I know Pachinko is pretty popular but I just got this in my head and I can't find any answers

What is about the cheapest NES clone available? All I need it to do is be able to play regular cartridges.
Real NES systems can usually be found for cheaper than clones. Any reason you specifically want a clone? If you're just worried about the infamous flashing screen prob, open up the system to give the cart connector a cleaning and disable the lockout chip. It's a VERY easy thing to do.
No I'm all for original hardware, this was a question as I might need one for a future project. I didn't want to use a real NES so I just wanted to see how much a clone would cost for it. On my NES I don't really get the flashing light problem after I replaced the 72 pin connector.

If massive supercomputers can be preserved at the Computer History Museum then video games can too. I don't see these games just going quietly into the night, I see them in the hands of only collectors who are willing to fix any problem that arises.

I'm looking to get a Commodore monitor soon for my desk and a C64 in the future. However I was looking for a monitor that can be used for other things like other video game consoles. So far I'm looking at the 1701, 1702, and 1802. Are there any other monitors that would suit this purpose. I am looking for one with the Commodore logo or name on the front for an asthetic factor.

Check out this guy asking people to give him free hardware http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/sys/1777068315.html
I think that's smart. I see ads like this all the time. A lot of people still just junk this stuff, thinking it's not worthwhile to sell.
Well the part that gets me is that he's putting in rules on what he'll take referring to things that most people who would junk these computers wouldn't understand.

Alright, I'm going to just ask one last question. Which Commodore monitors are the best and what is the average going rate for them? I do realize shipping will be expensive for one.

I'm looking for a computer for my desk an right now I'm thinking between a Commodore 64 or the Macintosh 128K(be interesting next to a Vectrex).
Sadly, these are in the kitchen right now until my office/gameroom is finished. Still, it's an idea of what they look like next to each other.
I agree with what others said about an SE/30, but I haven't found any in good condition. A Mac Plus (shown in the photo) can be found for much less and can still play tons of the old B&W games.
well that solved that curiosity of mine, anyway I might get one one day I just have the question of what you SE/30 owners do for games as I can't find any on ebay. But I am getting a C64 for those who weren't clear, this thread turned out to be a lot longer then I expected.

You might have some luck going to the Macintosh Garden and browsing by date. Let me know what you find, I just picked up a couple $10 SE/30s which I'd like to do something with.
Yeah i already PMed him about that site, i just didn't post about it because of what the admin/mods or others might think about abandonware sites that have older non supported licensed software to download. i didn't want to break any rules (as most forums have a rule against it). They also have more newer stuff then that ( which is why i didnt provide a link openly).
but if your offering a SE/30 you could offer it to him to see if he would buy one, that is if he hasn't already made up his mind.
Cheap enough, sure I'd buy it
.However I was just doing this now as I'm starting to save up for the C64 and thought of the Mac so I just wanted to get a price point on both and see if the Mac was really worth it.

I think I'm just going with a C64, thanks for all your input on the Mac.

I looked down this road and think madmax is spot on. I decided I really wanted a Color Classic but then I looked at the prices they fetch and it's insane. The Performa or LC series will give you the same specs but in a "pizza box" form factor for much less money--you will have to buy a monitor too, but the total will still be much less than the Color Classic. I personally don't think you'll be happy with a b&w Mac for gaming; there were plenty of games, but Mac gaming got a lot better with color.
If you're choosing between the C64 and the original Mac for games, just get the C64.
I know the C64 has better games, I was just considering the Mac for it's all in one design. I'm not sure even what games the mac can run because me typing in Mac 128K on ebay doesn't come up with anything. But if I have to buy a monitor I'm getting a C64

However I don't know that much about the Macintosh and if it isn't that great for games then it's not what I'm looking for. Also if it's good for gaming, would someone tell me some of the titles I can look at and any necessary accessories?

Hopefully this will lead them to doing this for more games

Very nice, I'll probably pick it up when I get some cash.

I don't really think that counts as a game, it's more like a choose your own adventure slide show. I think there are only about 3 decision points anyway. There's no gameplay, even most other fmv's have at least some form of gameplay in them.

a new 72-pin connector usually works, though mine is weird because it works only when the game is still up and I get the game started on the first go every time. So you could try that, I don't think the cartridges are at fault if all of them do the same thing.

that's the vectrex lightpen I made
Very Nice....Does it Work Well?
It works as well as an original I think, I only have artmaster and the circuit is from playvectrex.com

Nice pics...what is the significance of the marker?

well I went there but it won't accept an order of 20 screws for some reason, as I have 6 games that need 18 screws

Just got an intellevision from my Uncle's house with about 30 games most of them having their manuals and overlays along with the intellivoice module.

Ok I have a batch of NES games that all have no screws in them. Is there anywhere I can get the security screws or am I stuck with using Philips head ones

K thanks for the advice, I'll probably go that route.
