  1. I have one because I just wanted to get the original three Atari home systems(aka Jaguar not included, might get one one of these days). I first heard about it through the AVGN's review which was really harsh on the system and marred my opinion on it until I was able to play one at midwestern gaming classics in 09. The game on display was pacman and the second I tried it all that stuff about the controllers being non-responsive was thrown out the window(I realize their not recentering but most people complain about them for games like Pac-Man and they actually work fairly well for it.) Decided to buy one later that month, and am still happy with it. I paid about 140 dollars for a lot from OldJD's ebay store, got 20 games all with overlays and most with instructions, two rebuilt controllers, trackball controller, and a fairly good condition four-port system. It's not the cheapest system to acquire, but the games are fairly cheap, I got the excellent Berzerk port for about 8 bucks complete. I haven't gotten into older computers yet so I can't really talk about the overlap with the A800. Rebuilt controllers are a necessity though as they will last much much longer then original ones. My one real complete is no end labels on the games, I'm tight on space right now for Atari games so I have to stack them all vertically. Meaning that whenever I want to get a new game I have to go through a stack of 22 games looking for it. I haven't gotten to many other games for it because there are really no more that interest me. Okay sorry for the long ramble but final thing, favorite games for the 5200

    Robotron 2084, Qix, Pengo, Pac-Man

  2. Alright, wasn't sure to put this in the hombrew forum or here so forgive me if this is in the wrong spot. Anyway I wanted to at least start programming in general. But I do have an interest in at making some basic games for the 2600. However I just wanted to know what programming language I would need to learn and if anyone knows of any good resources online.

  3. I was thinking of running an experiment to determine which way of cleaning games works the best. I'm not sure if anyone has done this before but I would use a batch of NES games who have their contacts fully cleaned with one method to where it functions on the first go. Then I'll test them again one week later to see if they still function. I was also thinking of just borrowing a microscope to check the amount of corrosion left both on the first test and second test, just to see how quickly it comes back. As for methods of cleaning to try I will use Windex, Alcohol, rubber eraser, and one of those magic erasers also maybe the nail file method. Would like to hear of any other cleaning methods people have tried. Any input on this would be appreciated.

  4. Still looking for one, waiting on a few ebay auctions but this thread still stands, I'm interested in anything accessories you'd sell with it and any extra games you'd sell with it to me.

  5. Hi, I have problems on both my NES and SNES. On the SNES every time I put in a super FX game like Star Fox or Doom there are green bars going down the screen, this happened on the last one I had only with red bars. I think it might be the RF adaptor as it's the same from the old system. With the NES almost no game will play on the first go and I replaced the 72 pin connector about two months ago, and I can't even get Total Recall to play despite thorough cleaning with alcohol. If anyone has any suggestions for these problems that would be great.

  6. I'm looking for an R-Zone, I'm looking for the head mounted version. I would like it in good condition if you have one to sell and at least one game.

  7. Hi, I have a No Fear pinball machine and I think the solenoid that shoots the ball might have a problem. At the beginning and other times during the game it's supposed to shoot a ball into the skydive hole which leads to the subway ramp. However lately sometimes this happens and other times the ball bounces around on the edge and rolls back down. I've tried cleaning the pinballs and playfield of debris but this still persists. I believe it's the solenoid as it does go in some of the time but I'm not sure and don't want to buy another solenoid to put in until someone with more knowledge on this can help.

  8. Here is my collection, and although it doesn't match some of the massive collections other users here have I think it's fairly large

My arcadia supercharger with three tapes didn't get pictured here, all of their boxes though are on the shelf full of boxes on the far right. Sorry for not posting all the pictures in this post but there about 30 and I actually did insert them all and then the post wouldn't submit

  9. Why super mario bros. 2? It's a good game but why not the original or SMB3 which are both far more popular. Anyone could make this thing for about 30 dollars as it does appear he just shoved the game and controller in a frame seeing how it's cable is still in full view
