I'm thinking it will work, but I just want to be sure as my only options from fry are it would be 11 dollars with shipping, or I have to go drive out to frys(about half an hour from where I am)and pick it up
-
-
yeah I was looking for that NTE transistor, I'm thinking it does mean to be NTE3032 as it is a phototransistor(out of thousands of components I think it just makes sense) I found the cheapest at Frys but I really want to make sure it's similar to the L14G3 so can someone tell me (I'm really sorry it's just I haven't done this before and want to get this part as fast as possible.)

Well thanks Lgallair for sending the part, but the envelope was torn open and the part was gone when it got here today. So I could really use some help finding a similar part as this is my first project. I have the rest of the circuit built and I already got Artmaster, I'm in way to deep to not finish this thing now
-
That vectrex he has is way overpriced, it's worth about half of his asking price and it doesn't even come with the game for one of the overlays
-
About playvectrex, that's the circuit I'm building and I looked for the part they said also worked and couldn't find anything
-
Hi, I'm looking to see if anyone knows what part would work in the place of an L14G3 phototransistor in a circuit. The reason I'm asking is for the vectrex lightpen I'm building(I'm almost done I just haven't gotten the L14G3 from lgallair yet) however if I want to do this again then I'll need a replacement part as the L14G3 is apparently discontinued and marked obsolete on Mouser
-
Yeah on the Vectrex apparently
pin 7 is +5v
pin 8 is Gnd
pin 4 is Button 4 or SW7
-
Well just took another look at the schematics and it says pins 7 +5v, pin 4 SW7, and pin 8 GND. I'm guessing this is just the configuration for a vectrex output
-
right now I think it's
5 Power: +5 Volts
7 Select signal(SW7 I'm guessing as it's pin 7 and what I'm making is a light pen
8 Power: Ground

Can anyone tell me if this is accurate http://pinouts.ru/Game/genesiscontroller_pinout.shtml, I still need the pin numbers for the +5v, GND, & SW7
-
yes I'm making a vectrex light pen and I just need to know which wires which so I just need to find the pins of each and I'll test with a multimeter tommorow
-
Ok, I'll try that tommorow, I'm using an official sega 3 button pad. I know that +5V is pin 5 and GND is pin 4, so this might be a little stupid but what is SW7, pin 7?
-
Hey I just need to know what color the +5v, GND, & SW7 on a genesis controller are
-
yeah, those switchboxes are not really that great, just use a direct coaxial adapter and your problems will be solved most likley.

The only two auctions for artmaster I could find were these
http://cgi.ebay.com/Art-Master-for-the-Vectrex-Arcade-System_W0QQitemZ310126615642QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Vintage_Video_Games?hash=item4834fc9c5a and http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-VECTREX-ART-MASTER-CART-INSTRUCTIONS-GUARANTEED_W0QQitemZ320198792107QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Games?hash=item4a8d55d3ab
Speaking of which if anyone has a copy they want to sell I would glady take it:)
-
yea I just found out that it's missing the wires I need, so now I'm just using a sega genesis controller
-
never mind I found out that atari joysticks don't have the wiring in them for what I need.
-
Just to clarify I'm talking about the controller's cable that goes to the system

Hi, I'm doing some work on a slik stik to retool the connection cabel and I wanted to know if anyone knows which wires the +5v, GND, & SW, the rest I'm just going to cut off.

Hey, I have one last question. I'm using the cable from a Slik Stick and need to make sure the three wires I need to use are the Yellow, Black, and Green.

Part replacement question

Well hopefully I can just pick up the part, I really don't want to just pay 11 bucks for it when you include shipping.
