  1. I don't have an intellevision, but I do like the 5200 controllers. They work well, mine have been rebuilt and there still going after a couple months. Although I do have to ask why Atari thought it nessecary to give every game an overlay whether it needed it or not, prime example being Pac-Man where the instruction are ON THE SCREEN defeating the need for an overlay
  2. personally, I think the Atari XEGS gun works fine. Yes it is true that it fires slightly to right or left depending on the game, but it's easy to correct your aiming and you get used to it real fast while playing a game
  3. They're not interchangeble, it's the way they register when they fire. Like in order to get the SMS gun to work with the XE/7800 you have to modify it and I would assume it's likewise with geting the XEGS gun to work with the SMS
  4. I haven't seen a purple memory pack(unless you mean the one that came with the system when it was released), but just get a expansion pack and you'll be able to play those games
  5. If you decided to start selling those I would buy one, but I would want it wall mounted if possible if not I would still get one, it looks really cool
  6. Not that I'm interested in this, but what company markings are on this?
  7. I think it's just that every ataris different in little ways like the color wheel isn't right anymore, but really if all your other games play the normal colors there's nothing to worry about.
  8. Ralph Baer created the Magnavox Odyssey in the late 60's/early 70's, and had a ping pong game for it, which was copied by Bushnell and turned into Pong. -Adam And which one was a success? Pong thats the one. However Ralph Baer got back at Bushnell later by copying the Atari game "Touch me"(can you imagine a game like that today?) and turned it into Simon!
  9. Well I got the cover today, unfortunatley I wouldn't call it ready to be sold. I sent an email to oldjd's wife so she can fix them before she makes another one. Don't worry they're minor problems, it's a little short on the system the sample sent was a longer so this was just a mistake I guesse. To fit the system the cover is rectangluar, but the embroidery was put on the wider side, and all of you with a vectrex know the front is narrower then the side. This can be attributed to me however, I forgot to include which side to put the embroidery on.
  10. The movie came out in 1989, near the end of the NES life but a video game by Sunsoft did come out. I have it and it's a really good game.
  11. Well he lowered it to 500, but the game and controller are worth about 10 bucks combined and that frame which he says is packed "bulletproof tight" is at most worth 20-40 dollars. I still can't believe he thinks this will ever sell.
  12. Hi, I recently purchased a Super Breakout Marquee as a gift for my father seeing how it's his favorite game of all time. When I bought it, the description said that the protective sticker was still on it, however this sticker isn't coming off easily. I've been trying WD-40 and Adhesive remover but the main problem is the paper doesn't come off easily and I'm afraid I'll scratch the thing up if I use a razor. Anyone have any tips on this?
  13. this is posted for me finding help on removing the giant sticker on it
  14. I'm looking for a copy of animaction, if anybody has one they would like to sell, just shoot me a pm
  15. My list is Animaction Melody Master Hyperchase(want the overlay Berzerk(want the overlay) Spike(want the overlay so if you have any of those just shoot me a pm
  16. Disk images for C64 (or A8) are all over the internet. I wish I could just give you a link to an archive offhand, but I've had all my disk images for so long, I don't even remember anymore. There's also several compilations that you can get burned, through a service like MAMEburners (google it), or even from torrents. But the torrents are just going to be partial compilations but will get you a start. If you can afford the $ and the space, you would be well-served gaming-wise to get both a C64 and an Atari 8-Bit, either 800XL or XEGS or whatever you want. They're both fantastic systems with so many games you could play them often for years and never run out of fun. Thank you, your information has been very helpfull
  17. With that information, Commodore does look the way to go, where do you get your images? I'm still interested in the Atari XEGS as well seeing how it plays all Atari 8-bit games as well. That and it has majority cartridge support which I like as I'm wary of anything cd or other limited life storage or devices.
  18. ok right now I've narrowed it down to between the Commodore 64 and Apple II. I do need to know some things about them though. Which version to get, and the game quality, also can the apple II plug into a normal tv like the commodore? That and the essential peripherals for each
  19. Thanks for all the information everybody this really helps,
  20. As for the apple II I forgot about that, but I'm not sure about the game library, I'm leaning towards a commodore 64 but I'm open to other computer suggestions, I'm ruling out the Intellevision and Colecovision now. My concern for floppys are that they are limited life and loose their data over time as the magnetic alighnment is lost. So if someone can give me more info on the apple II that would be great
  21. Hi, I'm thinking of getting another console after the christmas season. I already have Vectrex, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, Xbox, and PS2. The choices for me are going to be between the Intellivision, Colecovision, Commodore 64, and Atari 800. the main things I'm looking for right now is a system that is reliable, system and games reasonably priced, a best game quality. My problems with each are, Intellivison: the controllers and I've heard most the games are two player. Colecovision: controllers, but they can be switched and originals look better and I've heard the system is unreliable Commodore 64: I'm not sure on reliability but I've heard most of the games come on floppys which I'm wary about Atari 800: Not sure about much so any information is new to me
