  1. Just to clarify I'm talking about the controller's cable that goes to the system

  3. Hi, I'm doing some work on a slik stik to retool the connection cabel and I wanted to know if anyone knows which wires the +5v, GND, & SW, the rest I'm just going to cut off.

  5. Hey, I have one last question. I'm using the cable from a Slik Stick and need to make sure the three wires I need to use are the Yellow, Black, and Green.
  6. Hi, I'm building a vectrex lightpen and that doesn't really do me any good unless I have the software to use with it. So if anyone has an extra copy of Artmaster just send me a pm with how much you want
  7. I have the rest of those parts, I would take that phototransistor that would be great. do you want anything for it?
  8. Hi, I'm building a vectrex lightpen and have all the parts except the phototransistor http://www.playvectrex.com/vectech/mvlp/mvlp_f.htm(parts list) Anyway I can't find the one on the list but if anyone knows of a similar one that will work on the circuit using these specs http://www.newark.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?SKU=84F234&CMP=AFC-GB100000001 If anyone does know it would be greatly appreciated
  9. Yes I am new to this, but this is a good starting point as it's a simple cicuit. One last thing is, do you know if the phototransistor is on mouser? when I looked it said obsolete but then again I can't find anything. I think I'm just going to order double of all the parts just in case of a screwup I can get back on track. I couldn't find that particular one, but if you can find all of the specs of it, I'm sure there is something that is very very similar on mouser. Well all the specs are here, http://www.newark.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?SKU=84F234&CMP=AFC-GB100000001, if you could help me find a similar part that would be great, this is something I really want to do
  10. For all of you out there who have done this or can help me, I can't find the crucial phototransistor for the pen part #L14G3 If anyone can help me find this that would be great or just tell me which part I can substitute for it.

  12. Thanks, just take your time finding the rest of the parts, your help is greatly appreciated
  13. oh, sorry I for some reason assummed anyone who could help me would know of the circuit, my mistake here it is http://www.playvectrex.com/vectech/mvlp/mvlp_f.htm
  14. As I said above in the first post, I can't really tell which ones are the right ones, mainly the resistors and capacitors. I think this is it for the 10K the resistors http://www.newark.com/multicomp/mcf-0-25w-10k/carbon-film/dp/38K0328 but I can't figure out the capactiors and 2.2k resistor still. Also the 2N3904 transistor. I think I found the semiconductor but I'm not sure http://www.newark.com/nte-electronics/nte74ls132/logic-ic/dp/31C5638
  15. Hi, I'm about to build a Vectrex lightpen I'm in the process of procurring parts right now, however I'm kinda of confused on that part. I can't figure out if any of the parts I'm looking at are the right ones and I want to make sure I have the right ones so I only have to order once. I did however manage to find the phototransistor.http://www.newark.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?SKU=84F234&CMP=AFC-GB100000001(was marked obsolete at mouser)So if anyone could help me with this, that would be great
  16. Alright, well just keep us updated on how it's going for the Vectrex cover, I'm sure we'd all like it if it came in silver like the original she already told me she'll try to find that.
  17. Okay I just wanted to know if there were any other circuits that would work better, just a quick question what would be a good soldering iron to buy and wheres the best place to get all the components? Don't know if there are any circuits that work better. I can tell you that I have both a "real" pen and have built the one on playvectrex and they perform equally well. For a decent soldering iron, you might try this: http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/WELLER-WLC100-/21-3475 I wouldn't go much cheaper than a unit like this or you will be buying another one, most likely, although you might be able to get by with a cheapie if this is the only time you will be needing it. As for electronics components, try Mouser or Digikey. The pen is pretty easy to put together and the games are actually pretty fun, although they're not really games, per se... I don't really know about a $50 soldering iron, I might do some things in the future but I don't really have that money right no, I already have 20 bucks at least with Oldjd's wife for a version of the original vectrex dust cover.

  19. Hi, I was interested in building a vectrex lightpen as the originals are really expensive. I just wanted to know whats the best circuit to build that has instructions as I've never done this before and have 0 soldering experience. Also, if anyone has done this, can this custom pens damage the system or is it just better to buy the original(I'm all for the authentic feel most of the time.
  20. Maybe the power brick is for the adam? I don't know about a reliable source though for ac adapters.
  21. I won four of your auctions, 4 atari games for 57 cents and 2 dollars shipping, great deal!(I was the one that won Demonds to Diamonds, Night Driver(my copy has a bad label), Combat picture label, and Outlaw picture label) You should do more auctions like this. I got some commons I just didn't fell like spending 3 bucks if you include shipping.
  22. Pretty cool I already won two auctions and am looking to win three more
  23. yea why don't you see if that guy will buy them, cause you know, he makes so much money selling heavy sixers with commons for 800 bucks
  24. As I said before it looks too perfect. I admit that you can remove the label with a hair dyer, but I think that it would cause damages due to the heat. So you can remove it properly, but putting it back without having damaged it must be way harder. And also why would someone do that? In this case then Atari is most likley to blame, as to why someone would remove the label, thats the only way to open the cartridge as the screw is underneath.
  25. But it is probable Atari messed up they do that sometime with games, there are 7800 games that have the end labels upside down.
