  1. If you're American, get out and vote today! Doesn't matter who you vote for, what's important is that you do it. It's VERY important at your state and local level, cause those laws and people have more of a direct impact on your daily life! Some elections have been decided by a few votes!

I still don't know who to vote for except "yes" on question 7 in Maryland. Don't want Medicare voucherized but don't want Obama Care either.

  2. Well, today sucked. Found out I either need to have a root canal or the tooth yanked. :( It's the farthest molar on the right, bottom mouth. No insurance, so the root canal would be about $1300 and need to wait 2 weeks. Want to save the tooth if I can, though. In the meantime while I wait to get in, any tips on keeping the constant low grade pain down?

here a little trick i learned about when i worked at a chinese resturaunt long time ago>>grab the bottom of your earlobe(left or right)and with pressure rub them this will reduce the pain) it really does work! also there is a dentist in portland or.who used a simalar tactic and pulled teeth with no drugs!

      ClassicGMR

If it's a hole in the tooth that's causing part of the problem than Temparin could help. Otherwise Orajel, aspirin and whole lotta sleep. =/

I'm going to have my earlobes removed and sewn to my wiener. The hot dentist lady will have to rub it to make the pain go away.

  3. Okay, most of us here are guys, so let's be honest....who is your fav porn star, past or prsent? Mine would be Lisa Ann. And heck, the girls can weigh in also if they want. :)

  4. Got a blind date for tommorow night! She's a year older then me (37), works as a nurse in a clinic, and we share a lot of the same hobbies. Going to have dinner at the Cheescake Factory. My first date in over a year, so I'm pretty psyched and hope it goes well. We were talking online for several days now and just set it up for tommorow night.

I got my first CD player when I graduated from high school - I bought Van Halen's "For Unklawful Carnal Knowledge" and Steve Vai's "Flex-Able." First music I bought was a cassette of Cindy Lauper's "She' So Unusual." Loved the WWF back then.

  7. Well, I went into work today and was laid off. Despite being there for 3 1/2 years, having lots of experience and skills, and a pay raise a month ago, they told me it was a 'business decsion' and there wasn't enough work this year to justify the staff size. Now I'm home when I shouldn't be trying to process all this. :(

Called in from work today so I could go see a doctor. Was given a script for two antibotics....one oral, one cream. Soaking my foot in some Epsom salts now, which seems to be helping. Even with insurance all this got up to almost a hundred bucks. You can't afford to get sick, folks!

  13. I'm confused, my licence for AVG just ran out, so I turned on Windows Defender. It says I'm protected by firewall and aganist spyware, but no viruses? I thought this gave virus protection. How is Microsoft Security Essentials? I have Windows 7.

Amusing how you all just happily accept viruses and spyware as an inevitable fact of life. Whereas I don't have this problem and haven't had a virus for 5+ years. Enjoy your speed-zapping protection software, Windoze people.

      jaybird3rd

Hey, I only use Windows when I have to. I do most of my work in FreeBSD, with Windows confined to a virtual machine where it can't do any damage, and I haven't been struck by a virus in years either. Most of my experience with AV software is from setting it up for clients who have to use Windows.

  14. Biggest pet peeve -- people who don't use god damn turn signals! I almost had a accident coming into work today cause of some asshole driver not being considerate enough to indicate what he was going to do! There should be major fines for failing to signal.

I hate it when people walk right into traffic. You know, those self-entitled jerks who rush out into the crosswalk without slowing down or looking both ways.

    3. jaybird3rd

      jaybird3rd

@pce_collector: Yes! They look as if they're going to walk past it, then they suddenly turn on a dime and step right into the crosswalk, taking it for granted that oncoming traffic will come to an instant stop, in the same way that automatic doors open for them just before they walk into them.

  15. Just recovered from a NASTY virus on my PC. Was visting a quite safe US History site I go to now and then and somehow a Trojan made it through both my browser and MSE defenses and hijacked Windows, saying I had to pay $300 to get it back! Damn thing even pervented Safe Mode from booting. Luckily I had my Windows 7 CD handy, booted from that and was able to do a System Restore and get rid of it that way. Worst one I've seen in years.

  20. So my car has a cool feature, when you were driving with the headlights on and then turn it off, the headlights stay on for a couple minutes -- to help you to see if you park in a garage, for example. I'm just sick and tired of everyone telling me 'your lights are on' when I know they are not. Are people really THAT clueless? My car can't be the only one with this feature.... (2002 Dodge Inrepid)
