Due to how busy I am right now (50 hour work weeks) and my person is overseas, so probably going to do some online purchases for them. As much as I hate to do that, as it seems impersonal, it also seems the easiest and fastest way.

I noticed you guys put the Patreon on hold for December. Does that mean no episodes this month?

Coleco Chameleon .... hardware speculations?
SoulBlazer replied to phoenixdownita's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing. I'd heard rumblings that Sean had been involved in a shady past, but this is the first concrete proof of that I've seen. Sean being a scammer doesn't excuse what Mike did, of course, but it does offer a grain of truth to what Mike was saying what happened. It's still about 95 percent his fault, but Mike was clearly desperate enough to be willing to get into bed with a crook. Really sounds like these two deserve each other. -
Might be okay, send the PM anyway, Grig said that he would send the PM out on Sunday.

Beyond the games mentioned already I can also suggest: ActRaser Clock Tower Popuous Any Koei game Ms PAC-MAN Gradius 3 Harvest Moon Zombies Ate My Neighbors

What are your favorite genre of games to play? Let us know and I can make some suggestions. Considering I do a SNES podcast I should know. And yes, game prices fir the system have stabilized but they are still really high. If you are willing to go cart only that helps.

The Ugliest Looking Game System Ever!
SoulBlazer replied to Charlie Cat's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Simple reason for the design of the SNES....a lot of people set drinks on the top of the NES deck and spilled them and did damage to the system. So Nintendo of America purposely designed the system to be angled so you couldn't do that. I can't explain the purple buttons though. -
I think it's important that you keep in mind that there are two very different versions of PAC-MAN for the NES...Tengens and Namcos. The two versions play and look very different. One is more arcade perfect, the other has some NES additions.

2 worthy video game podcasts
SoulBlazer replied to S1500's topic in Gaming Publications and Websites
Considering who they have on their now, I could care less. They lost me as a listener when they added that scumbag, and I'm shocked Shinto used him as a source in a recent Jaguar podcast. -
Hell yeah, I'm in!
-
Yeah, it was the Arcadia. And I recall seeing all of those in major stores save for the Fairchild F into 1983.

I know how many consoles were being sold in US in December 1982....eight! You could buy a 2500, 5200, channel F, astrocade, colecovision, Intellivision, vectrrx, and another I can't recall right now. Too many systems.

Sorry, RJ, I've not bought any of the console hookups for my Tankstick, I just use it for MAME. BTW, did you say that you were playing Activision Anthology on the PS2?
-
Yeah, I bought mine back in Feb. Good to know they provide instructions. Like I said, the support and help files the company offers is really great.
-
Heh. That's what I get for trying to type out a quick reply on my phone at work. If you already have the earlier model of the X-Arcade TankStick then you know how to get it running and all that. The only other difference with the trackball model is the pinball buttons on the sides. You also use those by default to insert credits and go back to the main menu of MAME if your not using a front end.
-
Not that I recall seeing in the instructions or the website outside of the occasional 'gently wash with a damn towel' trick, It wouldn't be easy to get out either, it's REALLY in there.
-
Yeah, the shipping for mine was very quick, and great customer service. The website is very detailed and had files and walkthroughs I needed to get my stick running in MAME. The extra buttons and twin joysticks are great, but the trackball is worth the extra money. It's just amazing!

Additional information with asking price: Im a gamer as opposed to a collector, I do almost all my gaming via emulation and really dont care if I have something digitally. I had no plans organized originally to sell these Overlays cause I thought I would use them. Turns out Im not, and the games that really NEED Overlays were the ones that came with the flashback. I also admit the high price these are getting right now is attractive. Sure, Id like them to go to a better home, but I could use this money for a better purpose. So based on what Im seeing on EBay I think $125 is fair price though Im open to haggling. Ive put this in the marketplace and Ill give it a while to see if I get any bites before going to EBay.

Interest check -- Intellivision Flashback Overlays

Interest check -- Intellivision Flashback Overlays
SoulBlazer replied to SoulBlazer's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Yeah, if I list on eBay I think Ill start at .01 but set a low reserve price. I really dont want to do buy it now, Id like the market to decide the price. So these are available now and Ill give it a few days before listing it. -
So I'm one of the people who ordered a full set of the overlays for the Intellivision controllers from Intellivision Productions when the Flashback came out. I thought I'd use them, but after finally getting my set (complete, no issues with the printing or missing ones) after about six months I found I hardly used it. I've seen some of these sets go for huge prices on EBay, and since I could use the money I've been giving serious thought to putting mine up for sale. I'd rather they go to someone who'd either use them or wants them in a collection. I thought about putting them up on EBay for a cent and seeing where the bidding ends at, but thought I'd post here first to see if anyone here is 1) interested and 2) can suggest what a 'fair' price is. I'm not looking to rip anyone off, I just want to sell it for what the going rate is, whatever that is. And I'd rather avoid EBay and the fees on there if I can help it. Checking EBay, it looks like 3 sets of these recently sold, from $85 to $200! But did people actually pay this? I know if it's in the sold category that means people were SUSPOSED to have paid for it, but it makes me suspicious. If these actually did sell, then it looks like around $100-125 is a fair price. I'm fully willing to ship overseas as well. Thanks in advance!
