I'm all for a get together. I guess the one that was discussed last year kind of fell apart. I'm in Romulus, so I'm kind of central to Pete's, Marvin's, and Flat Rock.Yeah it never quite came together. I know there are more than few SE MI & Toldeo area posters here on AA, but they don't seem to be very active for some reason.
If we only get a few responses (say 6 or less) I'll host it at my place (or someone elses house if they want to do it). But if we get a big group we'll have to do Pete's or Marvin's.

Yeah, I just checked Jboy's thread from last year and several of the people there haven't been active in a while. Jboy is active, but he's up in Saginaw. Wickeycolumbus is local... hopefully at least a few people show some interest.
If this thing happens....Jboy and I can car pool...?

I've been playing Grim Grimoire on the side lately but I have gotten stuck so I may start another game.
I saw Mana Khemia 2 online for purchase. Was the first one good? Any recommendations to get it?
Mana Khemia is part of the Atelier Iris type of game play...you mix alot of items after collecting them from various places,.,...not bad gameplay....better tahn grimgrimmer...that game repeated itself to no end...then you get stuck...
good luck

Mana Khemia 2 just came in today.
I don't know when I'll be able to get to it and actually do anything with the game. I'm still tied up with Ar Tonelico II, Cross Edge, Xenosaga III, and weekly games of Sacred II.
I don't remember if the pre-order mentioned any bonuses (I preordered back in May or June, whenever I got Cross Edge), so I was pleasantly surprised when the game came in a large box and included a soundtrack and poster.
The poster is double sided, but it's crap. One side has artwork which is too busy (pic of all characters). The other side has an image that's too bland. Why is it that games NEVER come with good posters?
The soundtrack is OK for a game soundtrack. It's very much like a standard anime soundtrack. It has 32 tracks. As I type this I'm to track 16. It's stereotypical JRPG peppy stuff. It's nowhere near as good as the BlazBlue soundtrack, and it's about a notch below the non-operatic parts of the Ar Tonelico II soundtrack. It has it's moments and it isn't bad if you like this kind of stuff like I do, but it's nowhere near a main course.
The back of the actual game is dual language French and English. Hmmm. I don't recall ever seeing that on a PS2 game before. Maybe I haven't been paying attention.
Cross Edge has turned into a I gotta spend big money at the playstation store game....so enough with that game....picked up man khemia 1 and thought it was playble...the first print came in same box as number 2

So many of our local game stores are pricing thier games by videogamepricecharts.com and I don't really trust the prices...I have seen prices go through the roof for my boxed nes collection, but prices for atari games continue to fall...any scoop on this out there...what do you price your games with if you own your own store and am I the only one seeing these prices drop on atari games...Chase the chuckwagon used to be 100 cart..not its like 65 or so?

Made a bid on a turbo zonk game
Will buy it now and pay with paypal if you end it sooner...

My flea has outragous prices. (5 bucks for Top Gun...rip-off) And NO NES GAMES (Execpt for a few commons for 5 bucks each, not worth it) Anyway, great find! I have never heard of Porkys. Tell me how it is!
Porky's is not nes..Porky's is Atari 2600
5$ for top gun is expensive....but is it top gun 1 or top gun 2 you dont see 2 very often...still not worth 5$ though.

title match pro wrestling

I recently picked up a Fairchild Channel F series II model and could use an extra controller if anyone has one for trade or sale.. either way it came with 8 games and is in working order, but this system really is unplayable.
The controllers in the series II models and some clones are removable which is nice because if one breaks down on you you can always get a replacement alot easier than a hard wired one. Yes the space invaders clone (galactic attack) is a nice game, but space invaders came in and picked up the fame...
Hands down one of the worst systems (next to the xbox) i own, but a nice collectable..so as for it being the first cartridge based game....what about the RCA Studio 2 which I also have with a nice almost complete boxed set of the games? It used cartridge based games...

If you are waiting on buying a PS3 (3 years into the lifespan) because of the backwards compatibility, this may be a very feasible idea!
If you bought a PS3 to play PS3 games, Where are they?
When the ps1 ended they gave us some of the most steller grapphix popssible on the ps1 and they gave us incredible games to play.
When the ps2 has almost ended they have given us Devil Summoner 2? Another Madden? Nothing if you ask me. I feel as if the developers have switched over to a similiar format to program for with the X360. (that sucks for us)
PS3 is missing out on the better quality games when you miss out on PS2 title game play....with the upscaling I would rather play some PS1 games...
-
My wife purchased a PS3 for us for our wedding present (blu ray and game console) for both of us...$600 U.S. dollars day one. I have had no problems with it what so ever. I love the fact that I can play a ps1 ps2 or ps3 game in it. Yes the ps1 japanese game compatibility issue sucks, but it is by far the best system to own.
Then I go to vegas 2 years later and win a free 80 gig backwards one. Do I need two? Nope, but I keep the other just in case somethin happens.. I will never buy a PS3 if it is not compatible....
As for a white PS3? Sounds cool, but was it worth the money here in the states?
p.s. I have like 10 boxed ps2 systems (9 are new never used) so I will always be able to play my ps2 collection of over 1600 games.

If you find yourself playing crossedge they have just released three new downloads for the game via the Playstation Store on the Playstation Network. You will find there are some ability powerups, some special healing items and some other stuff that will help boost your guys for those many battles once you get to the third world. Cross Edge definately takes some time to get into it, but if you learn about the instant battle button, life is good and levels become easier to achieve....
-
Ok, so if I dont want to walk around a grind levels I can just hit the R1 button and it will take me to a battle automaticallyOoooh, didn't know that.
I also found out that when you go into the Database trophy section and hit X on the trophy you earned, you get bonus stuff like items and money. I went from struggling to earn 10K gold to a savings account of 500K.
Then I found a spot that I could distribute some of my ap points to make my guys stronger kinda like when you level up you get a couple points, but I cant locate it again. When you hit triangle to bring up the menus, move toward Status and hit triangle. It will bring up four options. Three of them are ways to sort the character list. The remaining one is an option to redistribute advancement points.
The game just doesnt explain a whole lot. Thank you for the support. i did not know I could click on the trophies and earn stuff. Thank for the help.

Ok, so if I dont want to walk around a grind levels I can just hit the R1 button and it will take me to a battle automatically.... what does this do for ya? Well, you can level up faster by doing this and turning off the animation in the battles. Your guys attack, but just numbers come up. Then I found a spot that I could distribute some of my ap points to make my guys stronger kinda like when you level up you get a couple points, but I cant locate it again.
Can anyone help there?
There seems to be so much available to do on this game and they really dont tell you how to do any of it. Then the big trophies you get are just for collecting every item? I gotta make alchemy work for me in this game? Thats why i never played Manan Khemia for more than 6 hours or Atelier Iris 1,2 or 3.
What has happened to the PS3 rpg's
-
I played Disgae 3 for 94 hours before I even had access to the Puppy paw Stick. I got the stick and fiddled with it for a bit, ut then I quit. Have not picked it up again....no pun intended.
Now, Cross Edge should have been a great game. It crosses so many rpg's and puts them together, but then again so did that other game and that flopped. what was I to expect out of this when I bought it?
Not much, so I tried to play for another 6 hours. I am not seeing much in the way of story and it is just so far me picking up all these people that dont remember each other but they do. So I am gonna play till I get all the characters and by then the story should come together, but I am not sure about all this level grinding...
Dragon Warrior 4 (leveling for Taloon) I think i need tog et out of this genre of game play?
Where are the good PS3 games?
Thanks for all the replies

NIS has done it again. They take a bunch of characters that I love to play with (especially Morgan) and make a game out of it. Then the game play takes a while to start and understand what the developers are making out of it, just to find yourself playing it for an hour........what did you do for the last hour? Where are the power leveling tactics? I think this game needs to be reviewed.
If any one has played this game longer than an hour IS IT WORTH CONTINUING????????

My atari 2600 cart total is somewhere around 2500 carts, this includes label variations, brazil games, pal games, and boxed games.
the atari collection is a bit out of control. it makes me sick sometimes to think if they burned there would be a tar melt down in my home town....

Bought an atari jaguar for the first time from v61 the atari warehouse back in 2000. never owned one before then and I have kept it in the box only to perch upon the heigth of my daughters walk in closet top shelf. The box looks great and I have added several jag games like avp and doom and raiden, but cant seem to find the strength to open a new system that is 20 years old just to see how well it plays. I have 2 neo geo systems and love the system like it was my only one. I purchased the phantom 1 converter and play aes and mvs games in the system. makes my living room like a true to life arcade, but the games still cost way to much. I have several games and have played them all. never beat any of them but have payed them all.
Comparing the two?
Two totally different systems. The jag would never compare to the playability of the Neo Geo...
Atari still rules, but the jag?
I guess for some it is a great system, but not to myself

Jason from Tradengames is a great person to do business with. I would not recommend any other games tore if i lived near his.
I was just puzzled that controllers being unused would not open after they were sealed.
problem solved....

It means they need to be cleaned again. It's the achilles heel of the 5200 controllers.Mitch
\
these controllers have been in plastic wrap since they were purchased.....
so you suggest to just take them apart and clean the inside again...maybe with a qtip and some rubbing stuff?
thanks for the tips
Just lightly use a clean pencil eraser on the contacts. Works like a charm and will not tear them up. Unless they are the white or blue flex circuits and then it does no good.

Thanks for the heads up thats all i needed to know unless i try this and it doesnt work.
looks like this one is for the books
thanks,

Just recently wanted to clean out my game collection and sell some n64 games on the forums or ebay so...
I came across my 5200 collection of games and had a system with them. this system had two shrunk wrapped controllers that were remade and stuck with stickers from Jason at tradengames. jason has been great to me so i figured these controllers would work like a charm. i never opened them as they were shipped to me wrapped and i just paid for them and stored them. now i find that one controllers start button does not work and the other does not have any shooting funtions available. I know that the reviews were good when i bought these two controllers back in 2004 so did storing them in a dark cool box hurt them?
Any help will help me......I may need new controllers...
Jason from trade n games, if you read this can you pm me with a price for a set of new ones.
thanks,
ace from michigan

*sigh*I suppose it was too much to wish for that this would remain civil.
Double sigh. Yeah, it's too bad neonesmaster had to use all of those F words and call Digital Press users a bunch of inbred goat raping sister kissers.

Atariage is where I try to call home. I hope my above post doesnt lead to thinking bad of me, but I tried to remain civil until I started getting pm's from the member board. I even had great standings as a trader. I traded one of the admin a collection of empty gb boxes to help with his collecting of goods....
again, no F words for the atariage.... I can even recall trying to be of some help with the brazil released games as I have several dozen of them.

A few NES games
