Was that the shop in east street previously called gamer (or is it still there), i used to go to gamer fairly regularly in the early 90's (they used to do some A8 gear)
Yes, Gamer. I used to shop there as a young teenager. Fondly refered to as Lamer among my friends. I part exchanged my old Amiga 500 for a 1200 with them (Happy days.)
I Remember them showing off the 'new' ST machine there and I thought it was amazing considering I had a Amstrad CPC at the time.
Gamer now is a Newsagents I'm afraid.

Fancy a nice day out beside the seaside?
There is a shop called 'Snoopers Paradise' in the north lanes in Brighton. This usually has an array of retro gear. I don't mind popping in there and reporting on what can be lurking. Last time I did see some sort of Atari incarnation.
Throughout the years I have seen N64, PSX Megadrive, 2600, SNES, NES, Colecovision, Intellvision etc there. They usually come bundled with games.

There's a lots of other stuff there too such as old phones, retro action figures and second hand clothes.
Cheers

Here's his quote specific to the question:

The question to answer looks like: Explain whether the moon is further away from the earth than the sun according to the philosophy.
I don't fancy you anymore.
Of course you do Aaron....
NO I DON'T
Am I you?
errrrrrrr, no?
Can we quit this?
Yes, only if you admit Div is your girl...
I AM DIV.

I'd like some digital joy from Divya16. Ataripoowho can join in too, butt he'd have to use me as a buffer (protection).
I beg for this to end.

Ladies and Gentlemen, In an attempt to bring this thread back on track I have repeated atariksi's controller experiment, and found results contrary to his.
My digital controller test was a complete failure. The fact of the matter is, when playing a modern game like Need For Speed with a digital controller I could barely stay on the road...

...so much for that vaunted a priori knowledge!
LMFAO!
I'd like to know where you can purchase that wooden controller. Do you reckon you could convert it for the wooden 2600?

Looks like they (he/she) put everyone who disagreed on ignore. You called it potatohead. They ran away and of course, true to form, did not have to admit being wrong in any way.
If they've done that then it must be a pretty pointless experience for them.

The Atariski formula
1. Look for faults in others
2. Ignore own faults, invoking any plausible reason
3. Make others the subject, while claiming purity, or implying authority
4. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Where's the 'emotion'?

Imagine if someone in like 5 years time becomes interested in the A8 and looks at this forum for reference. It's hardly gonna be useful is it?

That's just complete rubbish. Your memory is failing you in both cases-- this one and the Oculus-10 digitizer. I made that channel WAY BEFORE you did. I could accuse you of stealing more than anything else. But I only accused you of something I am sure of-- namely jamming up my broadcasts. It's in one of my college projects in writing when it was released. Oh, even after you came up with yours, it was in no way a TV channel-- simple static images compared to live video.
I have no idea when you conceived of your thing, but I heard of it the same time everyone else did - weeks or months after I'd been broadcasting my thing and talking with you about my thing. Never before today have you ever claimed that the idea of broadcasting was yours first. I'm starting to get the idea that there is a malicious and disingenuous side to you that I haven't seen before. Nice dig about how I didn't own a capture card at the time. Guess I should have had more money, like you did.
Make up whatever you want. Go back to college and check out the written proof. I even did a live guitar concert in my dorm room before you came up with your idea. There are tons of witnesses who knew what you did and when. Only malicious intent was yours. Yeah, I'm wiser today.
Your memory fails you. I paid $400 for the board instead of $500 because I had my brother order for his company and they gave a corporate discount. That's not a scam, but you jamming someone's broadcasts is violation of all rules of morality.
Ok Mr. Morality, let's roll. Your brother ordered it for his company, but was it for his company's use? Or did he fib and hand the card off to you once he got it? Is it moral to fib? What's the dividing line between a fib and a lie? I don't think Krishna had much to say about Donkey Kong, but he definitely had a lot to say about this kind of stuff...
No fib. He bought it for his company (IBM) and they were working on video conferencing software. He had already told me to do co-op with them since I was also interested in multimedia. They were already buying various boards to see what their software was compatible with-- mostly in the thousands of dollars range. Once again, you are speculating and nor is this stuff even related to the topic.
I don't know what you have against Donkey Kong, but it's one of those games that evinces the weaknesses of the analog joysticks in a wide variety of areas as compared to digital joystick control as I described earlier in the thread: (1) multiple barrel jumping (straight, backward, forward), (2) going to ladders and climbing them in a more exact manner, (3) jumping over coal, platform to platform, over oil barrel (in pie screen), (4) jumping from to escalators, etc.
I love Monkeys, and I love ANALouge.
Can this thread stop now?

It appears posting on this thread is an easy way to obtain "kudos" points unless you're Divya16 or Atariksi.

Hi, good to see you're stil working in it and new things are coming.
I always love the IK musics.
This is or not Rob Hubbard's original?
Anyone (a Musician opinion...) knows anything about origins of the IK and IK+ songs?
I never get a real prove nor explanations anywhere, just some people talking anbout it, like in IK C64 video at you Tube:
" *
This is my favorite Hubbard tune. There's some unnecessary looping and the shifts at 4:05 and 8:55 aren't very polished. I don't hold these details against the song since altogether it's one of the most progressive c64 tracks ever made. Very impressive. btw. If you haven't noticed yet, you can upload over 10min videos, the actual limit is just under 11min.

Aye, besides the over-looping its an impressive tune. And ye, i just dicovered the other day
thanks though.. The last part is just more looping so i didnt care, but still..*
m0ngm4n (há 1 ano)
I played this game loads back when i was a kid, 4 player awesome fighting game! Which in my mind was the first
5/5!*
Manialt (há 1 ano)
theres also International Karate + seems theres a big difference in the music, gonna put it on queue, not sure which one of them i played.

thuaners (há 9 meses)
i love this music
brings back memories! great tune.. thanks for uploading!*
tuhind (há 11 meses)
Love Rob Hubbard...however it sounds like the theme to Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence by Ryupchi Sakamoto. Rob's best tune is probably Zoids or LastV8
*
Jauly (há 1 mês)
isn't this an enhanced "cover" of forbidden colours by sylvain/sakamoto?
*
d0dge25 (há 1 mês)
One of the coolest games ever with one of Rob's best songs. Beauty in simplicity ... fighting in front of the Shinx ... xD
* "
And yes, I prefer the A8 Music!...
But discouver some curiousities/strange things:
Greetings.
José Pereira.
That vocal video is insane if not a bit weird!

I think the problem with this thread lies at the beginning. Two quotes:
"It's a scientific fact; let's see who can refute it", and "I will provide more arguments as needed and later".
The first quote is the thread/topic description, and the second quote is from the first post of the thread. The first brings on the challenge to disagree, and the second gives me the impression that this will be an argument rather than a discussion. The discussion is worthwhile; the arguing is lame. For instanced, ignoring the fact that this may be outside the scope of this thread, however much I'd love to discuss measurement of switch debounce in the analog and digital realms, there's no way I'm going to, because it'll just turn into an argument, it seems. Resistance to the original opinion is futile, apparently.
Ciao,
5-11under
For the above reason I think this thread should have been locked ages ago.

Thanks. "youtube" tag works. Standard "media" tag won't.
Emkay,
I have woken up and listened to this tune. It sounds familiar. Is it an Ocean Loader (c64) by any chance?
Any possibility of acknowledging the original source?
It's helpfull. Cause now i'm trying to remember the games that had this tune and failing miserably.
Cheers

This thread makes baby jesus cry.
This is a scientific fact.
Can we also discuss god in this thread?
Which would god choose?
Would god prefer, a paddle or a stick?
Does he prefer port 21 or 80? I bet he hates TCP/IP over a null modem link.
I BET HE HAS HORSE-PROOF BACON and doesn't know what he's doing for Halloween.
Sillyness.

C64 joysticks are better than A8 ones!!

This is the most stupid thing anyone has ever said on this forum. EVERYONE knows CPC Amsoft joysticks are the way to go!

I didn't want to get involved in this on the main thread.
If Joe Smith writes a book and then Adam Brown translates that book in to a different language, the book will have on the front cover "Written by Joe Smith" and then "Translated by Adam Brown"
These same rules apply here surely?
I don't think that the pictures we are talking about are copyrighted as real books are.
I think you maybe a little wide of the mark on this one.

My thoughts regarding recent suspensions

i) He violated the terms of use.
ii) He was rubbing people up the wrong way intentionally.
iii) There are now threads and threads of just crap that are not of any use to anyone unless you have 20+ hours to sift through the diarrhoea that came from Atariksi/Divya.
I think it's perfectly logical to ban him for the above reasons plus countless others.
