  1. Did you give the cartridge port a good cleaning?
  2. The next question that comes to my mind is, can CPUWIZ's current board offering support 8-16K SRAM + Bank switched ROM on the same board. It wouldn't be practical to recycle old Jinks carts or other games that used SRAM. Are small SRAMS still readily available? Might have to goto SMT board design.
  3. A guy at my highschool offered to sell me an apple IIe 80 column card he stole from the computer lab. Those were crazy easy to open.
  4. Pete, http://atariage.com/forums/topic/161355-a78psd-prosystem-save-state-file-analyser/?do=findComment&comment=1986861 Check out this tool if you haven't seen it yet. It will open the save states from Prosystem emulator and give you analysis of the display list. It will show you how many headers you have in each DL and how much Maria time is being used. Looking at your demo, your DL's are setup for 74 bytes each, which will allow max of 14 objects (5 bytes per header) per zone. The Maria time is only 266 cycles with 14 objects, so your ok with timing. I made several save state snapshots and one of them just happened to have the max of 14 in one of the zones. I didn't see any exceed that. The tool also lets you view the contents of the 4k RAM.
  5. You can mix 144k and 128k roms on the Mateos cart. You just need to remember where they are and flip the switch as needed. The way the 144k roms work is they use two slots opposite each other on the rotary dial. If you have the dial set to 0, the 144k rom will use slots 0 and 8. You just need to remember not to put anything in slot 8 or you will corrupt the 144k game in slot 0.
  6. I hope you have a pokey replacement on your to-do list also.
  7. That was quick! The grab bag has arrived and I'll get it shipped to humblejack tomorrow.
  8. Looking forward to getting this. And I promise to turn it around in less than a week.
  9. You should be able to SEE it in my post.
  10. Don't hold onto it for Dig Dug. I've put that project on hold until the XM actually ships and my plan is for it to use the Yamaha sound chip. There won't be a POKEY version. I have something else in the works right now that I'm very excited about. The new project will have TIA and POKEY support.
  11. This. It worries me when someone with nearly 10k posts goes offline for so long.
  12. If the wait list existed you would be the first on it.
  13. I have an xboard in my 7800. Froggie, Beefdrop and Donkey Kong XM all work with it as is.
  14. I replaced the 7805 and 7812 in my 1050 drive with TSR-1-2450 and TSR-1-24120 and it wouldn't work. I don't know if it was a noise issue or maybe current capacity. I didn't have time to troubleshoot it so I put the linear regulators back in.
  15. The console is shockingly small when you pull it out of the box. It makes the 2600 flashback look huge.
  16. I sent my 4 year old 8mb Maxflash cart to Atarimax about a month ago because it stopped programming. It has taken a while for Steve to respond, but he did send out a replacement yesterday. So while his slow response time can be upsetting to some, I'm quite happy about his generous replacement policy. I will continue to buy his products and support him.
  17. I pay 9% in the Peoria area but at least I get to have crappy pot hole ridden roads and poor schools.
  18. I thought it was strange that he had a single box he was about to put into the display case. I wonder where it came from?
  19. I watched the long video from the NES forum post, and it looks like the game mechanics are spot on. The programmer said he converted the Z80 arcade code to 6502. This is very interesting to me because I have been curious if the arcade code, which runs in a 60hz loop, could be directly ported on a 6502 machine while maintaining the same loop time. When I did Donkey Kong XM, I kept the original 7800 ports 20hz loop for game and graphics updates. This created some trouble for me because of the way the arcade version handles animation and collision detection. I'm considering a port of Donkey Kong II but want to directly port the arcade code to 6502 and keep the 60hz update. I would only update the graphics to keep the screen horizontal. I don't know how many CPU cycles per frame the NES has available compared to the 7800, but based on this work, I'm hopeful that it might be possible.
  20. I'd rather play the games. I never played SNES before so I'm looking forward to trying them out.
  21. Just bought one! I was walking thru the Target game section, which never has them, and an employee asked if i needed help with anything. Said no at first then asked if they had the snes classic. Then i noticed the box in his hands which was the last one. Had to snag it.
  22. Thank you! That game didn't take as much time. Figure I made about $3.75/hr with it.
