  1. It looks too much like a hack of Freeway/ET than an 'original' to me. It will be interesting to see the source code once it's ripped to see how original it actually is. The cart size is definitely original, I like the look of the label too. I think it's a great story. Personally I would treat it like a one-of-a-kind prototype. Is it an EPROM or production chip? I didn't see this info or do we not know yet? Too lazy to go back and look, but I think I remember reading in this thread that the programmer still had the original source code for the game. It could very well be an original game that just mixed and match game play aspects from various games which I would constitue as a real original game. its difficult to say if this early homebrew or a real game, but seeing as the label has a company name with an address and everything, I would say this is a real game, not a prototype, and not a homebrew . . . but thats just me.
  2. Hey GroovyBee, The game is finished, I just need you to test to make sure the game works on pal and the colors look ok, thats all the testing I need done! I can get you screen shots of the game and a description as well! Thanks Disjaukifa
  3. Hey GroovyBee I'll see if I can port my homebrew, Candy Catcher, to pal. Would you be able to test it for me? Thanks Disjaukifa
  4. Both protos are looking horrifically awesome! Can't wait to get them!!! -Disjaukifa
  5. Hey Guys, The Limited Text Label Version of Candy Catcher is now full. There are plenty of spots left on the CIB version with some stunning artwork from Brian O. Also please note the CIB is NOT a limited release, so you don't need to worry about that version running out! Thanks guys! Disjaukifa
  6. Hey Guys! Let me tell you, this project likes throwing walls at me just for fun! I got my Batronix USB Chip Programmer in today, got home connected to my Mac and discovered this model is Windows only. No problem, I run a VM of XP with VirtualBox all the time, fire it up only to find out there is a bug right now with VirtualBox and Mac OS X 10.7.2 where USB does not work now with VMs . . . I upgraded to 10.7 on Sunday So I got my wife's laptop out which was Windows 7, install the software, no problems, connect the programmer up . . . nothing, can't find it. Oh yeah it has a driver you have to download, download it, got to install it, the driver isn't signed or something like that so I said forget it. I don't even remember when I last used this computer, but I have a Dell Dimension 4500S in my garage, pull it out, somehow I still have the install disk, install Windows XP Home, and get that machine up and running. Long story short the rom burns without issue, however now I'm sitting here thinking to myself, "how do I know if I did that correctly?". I figure its best if I just still the EPROM in the PCB and see if it works. I solder all the connections, stick the soldered PCB in my 2600 and BAM it freaking works!!! Without further delay here is the first copy ever of Candy Catcher: I'm didn't get any other copies made tonight because of the computer shuffling issue, but I did get one cartridge made (mine) and tested and the game works great! I will start sending out cartridges on Friday! Thanks guys and have a good night! Disjaukifa
  7. I'm not sure, I would have to ask Albert. I plan on be selling the CIB as long as anyone wanted to buy a copy, just waiting for 10 people to get on a list before I ordered more parts since its cheaper when I buy the parts in bulk. The Text Label version is limited to 45 copies.
  8. Nice find! Great job on your collection! Thanks for posting pictures, Rescue Terra I seems to be in amazing shape!
  9. Meant to try this out last night and got completely sided tracked (wife got a dog), if Iget a break tonight I'll try the game out on my Harmony!
  10. Nice lot, if I had the money I would have just bought this from you! Good luck with your trade!
  11. .a26 and .bin are the exact same thing. I just name them .a26 so my computer knows which emulator to associate it to!
  12. Update! I worked with Brian O. tonight and we have the final version of the box and label hammered out! Getting ready to get the boxes made from Marc Oberhäuser. My Batronix USB Chip Programmer will be here tomorrow, so I will begin the assembly and testing of the Limited Text Label Version of Candy Catcher tomorrow night and if all goes well will start shipping them out Thursday. I hope to have the first 25 shipped out by Saturday! The CIB version is going to take longer since I have to wait for the boxes to be made and I have to wait for new parts, labels and I have to find more cartridges for donors as well. I'll keep everyone posted as stuff gets completed! Thank you everyone! Disjaukifa
  13. Andre, I've got you marked for an autographed copy of the Limited Release as well! Thanks!
  14. Hey bennybingo! I just sent a PM with all the new information! Thanks!
  15. I did not get my programmer today . . . i will be getting it in tomorrow so that is a plus! So I can start shipping out the Limited Text Label version this week as planned! I've got you done for the CIB version as well! I'll double check, but I think you did send me the correct amount! And yes the Limited Text Label version will be numbered and autographed!
  16. I know Albert did a small forum update earlier, might want to contact an Admin about it.
  17. Waiting for one of the two programmers I ordered to get here so I can start shipping Candy Catcher. I've give up on the first one ever coming, got to the US and was given to the post office October 1st . . . still not here.

  18. Hey jetset, I thought I replied to it . . . I'm pretty sure I have you on the list. I'm double checking now! Sorry about the mix up! THanks
  19. Monday Atari 2600 Berzerk <- 120 minutes Candy Catcher <- 5 minutes Frantic <- 15 minutes
  20. I think we are still waiting for Al to get a pre-order page started on the store (@Albert that is still the plan correct?), but I know our fearless leader has been incredibly busy as well. Yes, that is correct. I'm working on getting a new manual put together for this release. ..Al Hey Al, I know a box was mentioned, is that going to be optional? Thanks

  22. Think about this a little longer. If you have a game that qualifies for an r10....is it then safe to assume the box and or manual would be even harder to find making them an r10 as well..if not higher? Look at Air Raid...sure there have been some to surface...someone mentioned over 12...but how many had boxes? We have to balance usability of the guide versus number of features. Frankly I think its understood that a game with manual is more rare than just the game and a game with both the manual and box is more rare than ones without it. I don't want to start referring to the guide to only see Berzerk could be an R1, R2, R3 . . . I say leave it as it is. I think its understood, the more complete a game the more the rare the game, and you see that all the time when a game is sold as well.
  23. Sometimes no matter what I do I can't win . . . my programmer I won off of eBay won't get here till Wednesday, not tomorrow because the seller just gave it to the post office even though they assured me they would hand it to them Monday morning . . . not Monday at 4pm . . . . So now I'm hoping to get the first couple of games out by Thursday . . . I'm more than a little angry about this because I paid extra so that I could have it here tomorrow. OK for good news, the labels Albert made are here and they look fantastic, so thank you Albert! I'll post a picture of them tonight when I get home.
