  1. They obviously knew about this issue ahead of time. They could have added a gyroscope or some other sensor that stops the spinning disc if the angle of the Xbox change significantly. Laptops have had similar sensors to protect hard drives for years.

    ..Al

I'm surprised they didn't add that now that you mention it. I've shifted my PS3 slim with no adverse affects before.

  2. Oh, damn, forgot to change that! I don't know if it's going to happen and I'm not going to say anything about it at the moment since Albert approached me first. If it does happen, you'll obviously hear about it. Actually, it IS going to happen, but probably totally separate from this and something I'm just going to help him with. Payment received, list updated!

Now your just teasing us ;-)

  3. Its why I don't own a 360 Al. I actually did at one point, but the first one red ringed on me, trade for another model, that one red ringed, got another one and then the hard drive I had died . . . after that I said enough, and just gave up.

I know my local game store resurfaces discs for $2.50 a disc. It might be salvageable . . .

  4. I was thinking about this more and I think it needs to have an SD card. Curt said he didn't want to hurt Harmony sales, but I don't think you can avoid putting an SD on this thing just for that. Also 7800 games aren't supported by Harmony.

Actually they are working on the Harmony 2 right now . . . which is an SD cartridge for the 7800. I'd really like too not see an SD card for it. Once I see an SD card on the console itself, it just becomes a computer to me . . . which is what a console is anyway. I like the shell that they are planning on using, I'm just hoping that can add additional hardware to make it more homebrew friendly for programming, which I'm sure it will be.

  5. It has been posted in other threads and they're easy to find, but just a happy note that there are _tons_ of affordable, great 2600 games that you can pick up. Either on the Marketplace forum on AtariAge, on Ebay, at garage sales, etc.

Highly recommended from me and generally quite affordable: Yar's Revenge, Ms. Pac-Man, Q*bert, Empire Strikes Back, River Raid, Space Invaders, Millipede, Galaxian, Seaquest, Stampede, Midnight Magic (pinball), Chopper Command, Fast Eddie and Keystone Kapers. Enjoy your 2600!

Curious Sofa . . . I'm shocked you left out the best game every release for the 2600! BERZERK!!!!!

  6. Hey Guys,

Heres a video of the game, please be warned, there is strong language:

I love this game, this is the first modern game that I've played that reminds of the vintage games. This game is difficult, it requires precision, pattern matching, and practice. I've been laughing at the number of people that hate this game and say its too difficult blah blah blah, I would love to sit those people in front of a vintage console and see what they think of those games, probably say the same thing as well.

I just find modern games too easy, great example is Gran Turismo 5, which is I game I do like a lot, but in B-Spec mode the game plays itself really if you give your driver a fast enough car . . .

Has anyone else here tried it?

  7. Because of numerous request, you can buy a loose copy of the game with either the Text Label OR Brian O. label.

As discussed earlier, only the limited release should have the text label. I understand that others also want the text label, but a limited release should be kept a limited release. You could make a variation of the text label.

    Andre81,

Your correct, that was a mistake on my part, and I have changed the order page and all my posts about that as well. I'm sorry for the confusion on my part about this. The text label is sold out and only 45 were made. If people are interested in a none limited text label, I'll make one that is different from the one that was sold with the limited edition.

    Thanks

  8. So far, my best is a little over 8,000 on difficulty b. I thought I'd do better but its easy to make that one mistake over the course of a game! What kind of scores do you get?

I've broken 10K a couple of times, but never much higher after that!

Well it wouldn't be my kind of release without some EXTRA fun! I had order 70 EPROMs, well UPS delivered a damaged package that was open and missing 14 of the 70 EPROMs  Working with the seller on eBay and UPS right now to get this resolved. I swear there is someone of the boards that must be having all the luck in the world right now!!!!

    I'll keep ya'll posted!

    Thanks

  9. Hey Guys,

I'm interested in doing a repo run of Computer Chess and would love for someone to make a box and label for the game. Since this is the only known prototype to have a production label, I'd like the label to be text based and the box to appear if it were being sold in the late 70s. Winner will receive a free copy of the CIB game. Please post any submission here.

For information about the game please go here : Computer Chess

    Thanks
