  1. Yeah that is about what I want to get for it. -Disjaukifa
  2. Good Grief that should add to your collection. If you don't mind me asking how much did that set you back? -Disjaukifa
  3. Hey Guys, Here is a new .bin. Lets see who can figure out what is new . I have been trying to get this to work for 3 days . . . and it was because of the smallest misplaced line of code that as now been moved so now it works!!!! Thanks Disjaukifa atomic_meltdown.bin
  4. CX-10??? Whats a CX-10?? -Disjaukifa
  5. A winning lotto ticket would be nice, just for about 150K, I don't need millions just about 150K and I'll be happy . . . since your asking -Disjaukifa
  6. I own a Nintendo Wii which is consider by many, not here really, to be one of the best consoles. However I will say this about it. My Wife and I MIGHT play Bowling once a month because its fun to compete with each other. Other than that it sits collecting dust. My wife has a hard time being able to see what your suppose to do in more 3D games and she is a huge fan of the 2D games. When I got the Atari 2600 with all the games, I called her (she's visiting her parents), I told I got Frogger and Pitfall and she was completely excited because those are easy games that she can play without having to figure out what is what on the screen. I have played my 2600 more than I ever played my Gamecube or my Wii. I have about 10 games for the Wii and the only games I every play is Tennis, Boxing and Bowling on the Wii Sports . . . thats it. I need to get back on the Wii Fit, that does work i started to lose weight but then I stopped because the replay value sucks. I like the 2600 for its straight forward simple fun. No reading text, no buying a user guide to figure out how to beat the game, just turn on the power and you have the joystick and one button, its not all that hard. I will say this though. I would love a PS3 Slim for ONE game and thats Gran Turismo 5 but I love driving games and that is the only exception . . . but even then I think I would get board with it fairly quickly . . . but I'm not paying 350 bucks to play on game . . . when the PS4 comes out I will get a PS3 I think. -Disjaukifa
  7. I have to admit that what I like about the game the best is the dual joystick design, that was an ingenious idea. I really hope a NTSC version is made as I would love to own this cartridge (And be able to play it as well ). -Disjaukifa
  8. This question would probably be better in the Hardware forum, might want to see if you could get this thread moved to that forum or start a thread there with this post hyper-linked to it. -Disjaukifa
  9. Yes and even make it a sticky so those of us that can program but lack , or in my case suck, at graphic design could just pull the images and use in their game without having to worry about violating copy right!!! I would even contribute some . . . not saying they would be any good though -Disjaukifa
  10. Wish I had the money, that is one nice looking iMac and at a very reasonable price as well. Hope someone buys it!!! Plus my wife would kill me I already have 3 eerr 4 Macs at the moment . -Disjaukifa
  11. I just found this thread, and I have to say I like the idea, I'm playing on using Ari in some of my up coming games!!!! I really like the idea of having an Atari Mascot. Has anyone thought about opening a thread to just create characters that any dev would be allowed to use in there games? Thanks Disjaukifa
  12. Just want to say I use Stella 3.0 on my Mac with 10.6 and it works great!!! I would like to make a suggestion and I really don't know how difficult this would be to do, so if its too difficult please ignore this request, but I would love to have an optional panel of buttons that the Heavy Sixer had, Power, TY Type, Left Difficulty, Right Difficulty, Game Select and Game Reset. I know there are key combinations for this but I just think it would be nice to have panel you could click on!!! And if this has already been implemented could someone please point me to where it is . Thanks Disjaukifa
  13. That would be interesting to see!!! I have two Tac-2 and a Starfighter coming in the mail. I have one stardard CX-40 and a Wico stick and I'm ok with the CX-40 and I don't like the feel of the Wico. I'll let you know my opinions about the Tac-2 and the Starfighter once I get them. Probably going to sell the Wico in the Marketplace forums later this afternoon. -Disjaukifa
  14. Hey MausGames, Thank you for that example, I'm one of those people that have to "see" it to understand I can't wait to get home to take a longer look at that code. Thanks for the wonderful example. I think you should post this in the Batari Basic Tutorials thread as it would be useful to alot of people I think!!! Thanks Disjaukifa
  15. I will need to read up on this double-up abject variables, as it sounds like it will be useful in other games. In this one, the playfield is fixed . . . well shrinks, I am not going to be using parts of the play field to make moving chucks. I had thought about it, but I am not going to do it for Atomic Meltdown. I am using the SC option to have a larger playfield height of 28, instead of 12, which really helped out with the title and game selection screens. I still have one major game play feature to implement which I have yet to get around to doing (that will be tonight and this weekend), once it has been implemented I will post an update. Once that is done, and the ending screens have been completed I will be in the clean-up phase, I hope, and just need to spend time refining graphics, sounds, and miscellaneous other stuff. -Disjaukifa
  16. I would still file claims against him until he proves otherwise. You are nearing the deadlines for paypal claims if it has been a month. Do not let his excuses prevent you from filing one. Also, I would not stop a claim until the item is in your possession. I do not think you can file again if you stop a claim. I think that is correct, once you close a claim, you can't open another. Go ahead and open the claim, it usually lights the fire under the sellers . . . err bottom to get their act together. -Disjaukifa
  17. Agreed, if you come out with an NTSC version, put me down for a copy!!! Thanks Disjaukifa
  18. Hey Sorry you lost everything in Katrina!!! I have to say I agree with your parents, I think the only console I ever got new was my N64 which my parents got for me and my brother. The only new consoles since then I have gotten/received was I got a DS Lite for my Wife for her birthday one year because she wanted one and she bought a Nintendo Wii because a game store finally had one (when they were still stupid difficult to find) other than that I have always, always gotten used systems and not once have I had any issues with them. Its cheaper and guess what . . . the games are still just as fun to play!!! Sounds like you got a deal on the 2600, congratulation!!! -Disjaukifa
  19. Yeah I guess I should have said the following: Talk about a really bad newbie programming mistake .Yeah I figured that out last night when I was re-arranging my code. I had assigned a,b,c,d,e,o just for player0, player1, and ball. Also I am in the process of reducing my "boolean" variables, I just read up on the using Bit Operation which is perfect for booleans (IE true or false) since each byte can only be a 1 or 0. I will be using that tonight to add ending to all the different play modes. Thanks -Disjaukifa
  20. HAHAHHA I loved that. Yeah its a bizarre cartridge, I had got a gameboy when I went to Europe to entertain me on the flight over and on the trains (How we traveled around Europe) so when I got to .. . Munich, I don't remember where exactly, I found a game shop and found the 33-in-1 which was nice because I only had like 3 games with me and not a single one was what was on the multi-cart. Any takers??? -Disjaukifa
  21. I just tried it and its Alleyway, and all the Mario is the first Mario game for the gameboy. I think its only 11 games. Thanks Disjaukifa
  22. . . . Selling others' homebrews without permission? Sir, people can do that now! Anyone with a brain and Google can find out how to burn a binary to an EPROM. Add a little financial resources and our brainy Googler can produce finished cartridges. Right now, before Melody. I can certainly understand why Party A would want to keep Party B from producing and selling cartridges made using Party A's intellectual property without Party A's permission, but how, exactly, would restricting the wide sale of the Melody Cartridge stop that from happening? The answer, of course, is that it won't. The question of the wide availability of the Melody Cartridge thus becomes not whether infringement is possible, but instead how easy it is. This renders the infringement issue moot because there will always be someone smart enough to do it or rich enough to have it done. . . . Ok, Until someone else can answer this better, here is a response to part of your post. The Melody is much more easy to slap a .bin onto, if you will, then using an EPROM. YES anyone can burn an EPROM, yes anyone can download the .bins of other devs and make their on cartridge but here is the major difference. The Melody can just about play any .bin from 2k to 32k and it emulates the (I think this is the wrong name) SuperChip ram which gives the dev more ram to work with. Not knowing exactly how it works, it just sounds like you load it from your computer onto the cartridge in about 3 minutes and its done. Now lets look at the EPROM way. First the tools you need for the EPROM: EPROMS (Several Different types depending on the game size, I know a website where you can buy 50 for 25 bucks) EPROM Burner (Need a decent one so thats at least 75 ~ 100, 100 ~ 200 if you want a good one) EPROM Eraser (For when burners fail about 50 for a good one) PCB boards for the EPROMS (4 bucks a piece) Soldering Iron and other tools Cases (Presumedly used ones) SuperChips depending on the game (3 bucks and hard to find) Labels (1.50 a sheet I think) So realistically you are look at spending a minimum of 150 ~ 225 bucks just burn the first game and its not even guaranteed to work because some games used custom made PCB boards and special add on chips. Also you have the hassle of soldering the eprom to the pcb board which you might messup. Is it possible, sure but its going to take a long time and a good amount of money. Now the Harmony doesn't need most of the expensive stuff so, and I literally guess at this price, Lets say you want to do the same with the Melody, get the dev kit for 50ish bucks (no idea what it would cost) and then It would be a drag and drop process and your done. At that point it would be so cheap and easy for people to put a copied game onto a cart they didn't own and sell it. If you really want to play .bin on your Atari 2600 spend the 49.99 or the 74.99 on the Harmony, and enjoy. I don't see a problem with restricting or just not selling the Melody because there is the Harmony which Batari and Albert are offering to anybody to buy and in two edition as well. Anyone can buy the Harmony and it will let you play .bins on the 2600 with an SD card. It makes sense to have the Melody just for homebrews that are going to be developed and published. Also its what it was designed for, to make it easier and cheaper for Batari to publish homebrew games with the programmers than made them on this site. There is a really good saying: Why do you put locks on doors? To keep honest people out. The people that really want to copy and sell other peoples games will with the EPROM method if they think they can make all the money back in the end. Just my two cents -Disjaukifa
  23. Hey Guys, I was going through my stuff and I found this. I remember buying in 1995 when I went to Europe but I really don't know much about it to be honest with you. The Gameboy Cartridge works, but it could use some cleaning as well, sometime it doesn't start, but it will. Here are some photos Here is the list of games on it: Nettou Whi Jet Kureyon Shin 4 Super Mario Dr Mario Lode Runner Alley Way Pit Man Pop Up Battle City Moto Maniacs Tetris Flipull Bomb Jack World Hero Shin Mario World Virus of GB Kinkong Escape Woody Pop PM Boy Arumnoid Tank Moto Bike Super Tetris Easy Flipull Bomb Man Mario Land Hang On Hyp Lop Rvnner Lolumns Super Tank Mr. Mario Mr. Domber I think its only like 11 games renamed 3 times but you start the game up and it says Super 33 in 1 on the screen as you can see on the screen shots. I thought this might be worth something to someone here as its well . . . odd. I don't really play Gameboy or portables anymore (too small of screens). Send me an offer and I will respond. SOLD Thanks Disjaukifa
  24. Atari 2600 Star Trek - Strategic Operations Simulator - 45 minutes Video Pinball - 15 minutes -Disjaukifa
  25. Hey Guys, No screen shots or update tonight. I spent the last 4 hours re-arranging variables and re doing a good portion of the code. I always thought having 26 variables would be more than enough and I discovered that . . . well its really not. You waste alot of variables if you assign player0x, player0y, player1x, player1y, ballx, and bally. I ran out of variables and I didn't know what variables were left because they were scattered all over 1500+ lines of code. I hope to have a real update for ya'll tomorrow. Thanks Disjaukifa
