  1. What? Nobody ever stashes porn in large hordes like that, do they? :ponder:

Not sure but I've gotten bulk packs of the same game sealed in an auction before. I probably should have waited longer to post and seen if the high bidder got any bad feed backs. He only has 24 feed backs on record but all were good though.

  2. Three of these auctions came back with a second chance offer to buy at less than the winning bid. Wonder why? Almost had them at 77.00 till the winning bidder jumped in and went bid nuts. Probably didn't have the $ to cover all of them. I'd post a link but it would be to my in box on ebay and would give everyone access to all my messages. If anyone knows a way around this issue let me know as i'd be happy to post if there's an interest. I think it's un fair to jack the price of an auction sky high if your not going to take the item as it changes every part of the auctions outcome from then on. What is every ones opinion on this? Maybe they would have gone high anyways but who knows. The user that didn't take them still has 100% positive feedback. I'll let everyone know if that changes in a day or to.

Did it ever occur to you that the seller may have a stackload of these?

Maybe your right. my message said that I could find out why the second chance offer by clicking on bid history but I don't know how to find the bid history on item page.

  4. Get the four port one. I love mine and it works alright and my switchbox works great. I wouldn't get a two port because it has differences in the cartridge slot that make it incompatible with some 5200 games while making is compatible with the 2600 adaptor. There are also a few four port 5200's that have asteriks in their serial numbers, that means they are four port motherboards, but they have had the cartridge slot changes in order to make it compatible with the adapter, these 5200's have the same compatability problem as the 2 port.

Compatabilty problems? You mean there are some games the 2-port and the * 4-port can't play?

a four port can play all 5200 games but doesn't work with the 2600 adapter. The two port works with the 2600 adapter but not all the 5200 games. I don't know which games are incompatible though

  5. "This is an Atari 2600 game that is considered among the rarest ever made. This is the NTSC version. Defend your air space from attacking ufo's and other war craft bent on invading the earth.

This cart was made by Hozer Video."

Opinions of Hozer aside, a novice to the Atari 2600 scene would have to do research outside the auction to realize that what's for sale is a reproduction. That, I have a problem with.

I know what you mean. A friend of mine pointed it out to me and wanted it till I told him what hoser video was.

  6. I have both and noticed the sears has a beefier case. If you have both lay them side by side and look at the black plastic on the left and right top of your consoles. On mine the sears has more plastic, you have to look close. Both are sunnyvilles so I'd have to say the sears. Curious if anyone else noticed this?

  7. We went out to eat at Friday's this afternoon and noticed that they had attached an Atari on one of their walls along with some other items from the 70s and 80s. This Friday's had a Sears six-switch (with 3D Tic Tac Toe in the cartridge slot), a joystick and an atari track ball mounted on the wall. What an unexpected treat to go with lunch :)

That's cool. You should go back sometime soon and snap a few pictures of it to share with the community.

I'll pay for your meal just to see the pics.

  8. I collect all video games and would like to get an Atari computer. What is the best to get? I'd like to get top of the line and a first release of it if possible. I want a system that has the largest game selection for it. Are the Atari computer games better the atari console games?

  9. use this (http://cgi.ebay.com/Atari-RF-TV-Adapter-Direct-Connect-2600-7800-5200-Etc_W0QQitemZ140350006548QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Accessories?hash=item20ad832514) hook it on your tv where the coaxle goes. If your tv doesn't have that you can run it to the input on your vcr. The channel you will use will depend on which way your 7800 switch is set. on the back of your atari 7800 is a switch with a circle and a square one on each side. this is the channel select switch. The circle is channel 3 and the square is channel 4. If direct to your tv make sure your on the right channel for the mode your 7800 is set for and if direct to your vcr then put tv on channel for vcr and vcr should be on channel setting the 7800 is set for. plug power adapter into wall and your set. If yov use the original rf then you will need an adapter that goes from the ancient 2 wire to co axle and hook the same way the two wires can hook to ether side of the adapter but this way can have issues if the original rf has issues which is probably the most common Atari problem. If you want an s video mod or an av mod ill hook you up for the cost plus $10 and shipping both ways. I have a lot of spare time as I'm disabled so the wait would be minimal. If you have a different adapter let me know and I'll have you up and running in no time as long as your 7800 is in working condition. Hope this helps.

  10. I dissed the xbox360. finally got one to have for my collection of then and now but still hate the system because she has a lot of problems that I've dealt with so far but when you pay almost 400 for a system it should work at least 20hrs trouble free. Love the games though especially Battle field Bad Company which is why I bought the system in the first place but the issues with the system makes owning one more headache than its worth. My 2600 is 32yrs old and has never had a single part replaced and also preforms almost like the day it was new. How many systems out there can stand the test of time like that?

That is sweet man. My 9yr old son saw me playing atari today and tried it with me and liked it. I bought him an Xbox360 for his first system so I was surprised. Would never been able to afford the 360 if a drunk driver didn't hit me head on at over 100 mph. I got a trailer and 10,000 dollars in video games to keep me content now that I'm disabled from the accident. Now I go to schools to teach young adolescents why you don't drink and drive. I sometimes feel like a looser for accepting a settlement as I was raised old school and believe in making a living. Hope no one cares that I went off subject but I only have 2 or 3 beers a year and I'm on my fourth one tonight. Girlfriend died a year ago today.

  12. How much experience do you have with electronics?

I would suggest checking the voltage regulator first.

    Mitch

I have a fair amount of experience. You mean at the power adapter or I know the 2600 has a little black chip that supplies 5 volts to the board but does the 7800 still have that? I learned about that chip when my 2600 died 2yrs ago by researching each component inside the unit and testing each item till I got to that one which was the problem. Where this 7800 still works its more difficult to pinpoint the issue. I'll grab my multi meter from my parents in the morning and see what my power adapter is putting out. thanks for your help

  13. My 7800 has a color issue with 2600 games. Chopper Command is brown not orange but the reception is ok. When I play a 7800 game like pole position 2 it has static and half the ski is blue and the other half is purple. also the blue and the purple keep switching sides. I have a new 36 inch VIZIO tv. I tried several tv's (older ones to) with the same results. My 2600's work ok on my tv's. I also tried a new rf cable. Any Ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

  14. I've owned three Sega CD systems.

When I was 18 or 19, a friend of mine gave me his Sega CD model 2. I played it for years. One day, years later and for seemingly no reason, it just stopped working. I had no choice but to throw it away.

In the meantime, while working at FuncoLand, someone tried to trade in a JVC X'eye and about 20 Master System games. Since the company didn't take either console as trade, I gave him the $20 I had it my pocket for the entire box. (I got a lot of stuff that way back then.) Someone has spilled soda in the X'Eye and the CD motor didn't move. I thought it was probably broken beyond any repair. But after my Sega CD died, I took it all apart and cleaned each gear and everything. To my amazement, it works to this day.

A few years ago, I saw someone list a Sega CDX on eBay with a $20 BIN. I was lucky and it had just been listed. I half expected for it not to come, and to be told that there had been some mishap and they were going to refund my money. (Usually when I do a BIN for well less than an item is worth, I get a refund and some lame story about how the dog chewed it up.) But it did come in the mail, in a nice yellow envelope - no box, no packing. What's more amazing, is that it actually worked.

If your new 1 ever quits its probably a fuse in the system or the eye in the cd drive could be dirty

  15. like this..but with a 9 pin for the 7800

I built this post-24571-125575148699_thumb.jpg I know its not exactly what your looking for but it beats spending 300 or more to invent an adaptor. I can build you some if you like. the controller extensions I use are $8.95 then I put in two resistors and modify the original board in the nes controllers. Good controllers run me about $10.00 could sell you one for $35.00 shipped. Or I'll be a nice guy and give you a link to the mod and you can build it your self but that route you wont have the sticker to easily pick out your atari 7800 controller from the others. I can build them fast so you wont wait long for them. PM if interested. I can also build with new controllers but it would run about $10.00 more
