Has anyone tried that "emissions pass" additive? Gotta take my '85 CJ7 in this month and I'm too lazy to mess with the carb right now. (Though if that pass stuff breaks the law or something I'll get off my keister and do it)
Yeah, I used to sell that stuff. I think it's called "Guaranteed 2 Pass". It works to an extent but if your Jeep is blowing smoke like crazy, it won't help you. There is also something called "Cataclean" that works as well. Don't expect miracles if your engine is worn out though. Good luck.
Engine is great and I passed last year with just cleaning out the jets on the carb. Honestly it might still pass with no prob but it does run a little rich.
They don't have classic car status in your state where you only need to pass a break/lights/indicator test? That is all my '85 Pontiac Fiero needs here in Dallas, Texas.
