I mean this not as criticism, but why is it that the new "retro" consoles (Amico and VCS) are always flooded with "Y'know what would be great? The nine hundredth version of <insert arcade games here>! There aren't seventy other systems to play that on or anything!"

  Do people really want to spend $200-300 on yet another box to play....Moon Patrol or Missile Command? Can't you just.....do that on your Atari already? What's the appeal? I genuinely am curious.

  I don't see any harm in having fun posting wish lists like this, but some of the games being mentioned wouldn't be my first choices, either. I'm most interested in new versions of these games that are taking the classic formula and doing something novel with it--particularly with local multiplayer, as the Amico is doing.

  Yeah! That I can see. Something unique and different. While I get having "yet another Pac Man" on something, it seems like people may be purchasing these just for that, which is what I don't understand (again, not criticism). If the idea is nostalgia, isn't original hardware better? Is it that people say "I want X game" that's what they're really saying parallel to that, "I want X game but with new twists and features!"
