  1. I don't think Hozer is behind the actual games; I think Hozer just makes the carts. This Tom Adamo fellow is the one who is likely the leader of these shenanigans.
  2. No chance! First come first serve, #1 is mine! Just kidding. I don't care what number I get.
  3. AGH! My wife would kill me! Can I buy one and keep it secret? Alright, reserve me a copy please! I'll just hide it, bwa ha ha.
  4. Agreed with jay! These systems can still teach kids the basic fundamentals of computer use. If nothing else it's a great little system to just toy around with using disk drives and whatnot just to see what exactly is going on, and unlike expansive O/S software you can actually trace the processes as you go. It's a great tool for building a foundation of computer usage, and it both A) will not destroy your pocketbook and B) is relatively easy to open up and tinker around in hardware-wise. The only issue I see with it is marketing. People who aren't interested in computers but want their child(ren) to learn basics need something that they can understand as well, and teaching a kid to click 'Start' is a lot easier than teaching them BASIC. It's a guess of mine that anyone who would be interested in remarketing an A8 computer for this purpose would likely already own an original one and would just use that in the first place. I think usefulness isn't the question, I think it's just basic marketability.
  5. Hey Iwan - you are not in aachen are you.... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/germany/6810528/Salami-battle-in-supermarket-leaves-Germans-in-hospital.html maybe you caught up with this shiller... No! The other way around! One of his chumps he side-dealed out of a sealed War 2000 found him and accosted him! He had to protect his virtue!
  6. Hmm, that's strange, I've heard that cosmosiss is pretty good to deal with. Honestly I'm sure there's just a miscommunication or an error of some sort; I can understand that you'd be unhappy about it. Hope this gets resolved soon, and hope you get my poop-in-a-box in the next couple days!
  7. Damn! I don't have the cash I would love this system.
  8. Holy cow that's a lot of systems! Are they consigned to the depths of storage bins or do you cycle through them? I'm just imagining someone in this huge room full of computers frantically typing on 3 at once...
  9. Let's see.... I have: Atari 400, Atari 800, Atari 1200XL, Atari 130XE, Atari 520ST, Atari 1040STf, Atari Portfolio Commodore VIC-20 IBM PCjr TI-99/4a Currently working on getting: Atari 600XL Atari 800XL Commodore 64 & 128 Tandy CoCo 3 Timex Sinclair 1000
  10. Ahh, the cruel irony of that is that I was recently talking to another user on here about taking a crap in a box and selling it on eBay as a "Mystery GRAB BOX", so the idea has crossed my mind...... Honestly it's never really happened to me because I've never purchased anything. I've done some sales but the three or four buys I've done on here have been perfect. I'm picky about who I buy from, though, following that "less than 500 posts" rule.
  11. HOLYCRAP I was freaking out thinking you were talking about me..... I literally checked my messages folder to make that I had talked to you since then. EDIT: Not me! Woohoo! I didn't start talking to you about the INTV until the 9th. Yay! I've had an Atari 7800 out for repairs for like three months now, but I'm not worried. ax has it and he's been making it super-duper purty for me That's about the only thing that's been longer than 2-3 day turnaround time and I have no worries whatsoever because I mean, come on, it's ax, someone who would never-ever-ever do anything unethical and is a really great businessperson. Actually on the serious side I made a deal with a member for a somewhat-broken XEGS for $10. He said he would get me a shipping quote and then I could pay him. Disappeared for 2 weeks then all of a sudden the item is not only back up for sale but had been purchased by another member. The item he had said he'd "get back to me" on, he apparently decided to sell in the meantime to someone else. I still have all the old PMs about it and to be honest I'm rather pissed about the situation.
  12. It's so hard to find a box that isn't torn in EXACTLY that configuration, since Atari shoved their 1050s in that much styrofoam that it's next to impossible to get the packing back in the box! Mine looks exactly the same as that!
  13. >GET DOCUMENTARY I'm sorry, I didn't understand that. >GET DOCUMENTARY I'm sorry, I didn't understand that. >GET DOCUMAKGDFHGALKDFG HKREH IODAKDLF I'm sorry, I didn't understand that. Should be a cool film! Can't wait!
  14. You guys know of ninety bajillion more video game systems than I could ever think up! What a bunch of NERDS! I can barely get my head around adding Atari 8bit computers to my 2600 collection! Maybe I'm just weak sauce.
  15. Oh God no, I had enough of that game that week. I think my brain fried by Monday afternoon! No more Gorgons, NOOOOO!
  16. The $60 should be pretty easy to use from what I've heard people say. It's basically just an SD solution that plugs into the port the 1541 goes into on the C64. Basically you just drag-and-drop the ROM files or disk files onto the SD drive, plug it in, turn it on, and do a basic LOAD command to the best of my knowledge. There's multiple files so you'd likely just do a LOAD "<filename>",8,1 or something like that at the C64 command prompt. There should be documentation included with the SD drive and I know that you can always contact Jim with questions through his website and he'll be more than happy to help you. I think the lemon C64 forum had some sort of online user's guide posted, too, but I don't have an account on that site and my options are pretty limited for searches. Basically it automatically emulates the drive, so you're just directly accessing the files. I don't think you have to "mount" a drive per se, but I'm not completely sure on that.
  17. OOH OOH pick me pick me! I keep finding out about all these HSCs and want to play them all! Same as Al (acoustic) for me, if I don't have it I won't be able to play, but I have a big lot of 50 Inty carts coming my way! You can come to my house and play for HSC acoustic!
  18. I'll see if I can dig it up, but you should be able to search the forums and find an SD solution for around $60. It's on the lemon forums for C64....will edit with it when I find it. EDIT: Aha! Exactly $60. Jim Brain makes a uIEC SD solution. The latest iterations of it emulate a 1541 drive so it's going to be great for fastloading now. Jim Brain's uIECSD D'oh! Helps if I get it right. These supposedly work wonderfully and are great little tools. I don't have a C64 yet but I've been doing research for when I do get one! To be honest you should ask save2600 for information, as far as I've seen he's basically the resident C64 guru around here. Really, really knows his stuff!
  19. That's not really TOO bad, with 35 games. That's $20 for the system plus about $1.35 a game...could be better, but not horrible.
