You must live in the Magical Atari Kingdom where everything grows on trees! Can I move there? You can't find anything in Idaho at ALL! Well, except cows and potatoes.

CebusCapucinis's Monkey Hut
Cebus Capucinis replied to Cebus Capucinis's topic in Show Us Your Collection!
I just put them on, they're too small Okay, since I needed a new picture of the PCJr since the original was too blurry, I decided to post an additional fashion statement. -
So cool! I've always wanted one of those carrying cases for the 2600. They're actually pretty hard to come by, you don't see them on ePay or any auction sites very frequently.

FEAR the tower of Power!
Cebus Capucinis replied to Cebus Capucinis's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I'm actually really interested in what you said, though. I don't know anything about this printer and it's really cool to hear about the inadequacies of it. Just lets me know more about the printer. You just won't convince me that it's not "cool". -
FEAR the tower of Power!
Cebus Capucinis replied to Cebus Capucinis's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Oh, wow! I've totally seen the light now! It really IS a piece of garbage and I completely think it's pathetic and stupid now! I'm just going to go right ahead and throw it out the window since it's such a lame piece of trash. You've sure convinced me not to think it's nifty in its own right! -
CebusCapucinis's Monkey Hut
Cebus Capucinis replied to Cebus Capucinis's topic in Show Us Your Collection!
Ironically those pink fuzzy slippers were a 50th birthday gift for my mother that never made it into the box. We got her all these gag gifts for "old people" like laxatives/fiber and icy-hot for her aching joints now that she's old. These matched a shower cap for her new curlers and a pink housecoat we got her, but when I got to the post office I went "CRAP!" because I'd forgotten them, but by then the box was sealed. I may just wear them myself, actually. -
I think the titanic went down before the A5200 was released. Someone time traveled and had them in their pockets. That was in the movie, right?

Here's some pictures of my wimpy, wimpy but growing collection! I just organized everything and stored it all so things are looking a lot cleaner than before. The Monkey Hut Up first is the storage rack next to my AA.com computer. On the first two shelves we have a 130XE complete in box and a TI-99/4a black/silver model complete in box! The next two shelves feature a 5200 4-port and the 2600 Jr and a 2600 light sixer. The other variations of the 2600 are in the closet and my 7800 is currently out for repair at Ax's place. In the projector room here's my favorite little non-working toy which will soon be replaced with a working version: the PCJR! When I take pictures I think I have Parkinson's because I can't take a non-blurry photo. Here's the stack of CIB games for the 2600/Jr. Note, I don't collect CIB games so this is very small! In the projector room closet we have the boxes for the CIB systems I got: The Jr boxes, plus the Atari 1050 & 1027 boxes. A box of all the controllers, trackballs, etc. for the Atari systems: I know, blasphemy, my 2600s aren't hooked up at the moment. I am obsessed with using this 1200XL though! I play Ms. Pac-Man every time I go in the living room for it. Top of the 2 shelves next to it (the rest are my wife's books) is the CIB A8 games I got, along with the complete Lynx II w/ carrying case, car charger, you name it. Still working on games for it: More Parkinson's photos. This is the loose 2600 collection. I've got around 120 carts or so, I'm not completely sure. I'm still working on it! So there's the monkey hut so far. As I said I'm still really new at collecting so I don't have a whole lot, but I've got a bunch of boxes showing up next week that should enhance the collection.

HSC Season 7 Week 11: Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Cebus Capucinis replied to Ze_ro's topic in 2600 High Score Club
EDIT: Played again with the camera, and managed to get a better score! 21,000 My TIP: To single-rev a victim, you don't have to press the button when you're close. They will switch spots once or twice in an attempt to run away, but when your un-revved chainsaw's pixel is right on top of the very edge of the victim, then you can rev as they are close enough to not get away. This will result in a kill rather than wasted fuel. Revving before the pixels are lined up exactly is simply a waste of fuel, because the victim is planned to get away that time. Also remember that you don't have to rev through the body when you hit something or kill a victim. You merely stand there, doing nothing, until it disappears. Pressing the joystick or fire button causes you to lose fuel during that time, so after you've hit something or scored a kill, do absolutely nothing until it disappears as this will put the fuel only on the timer rather than performing an activity that drains fuel faster. Holy crap it gets crazy fast at 20,000 points. -
Price Check: Colecovision & 60 Games
Cebus Capucinis replied to Cebus Capucinis's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Haha! Exactly, that's why I'm passing on this bargain. Seems like it would just be a gigantic argument with no conclusion, and it will just be a person with an unsold CV and a pile of common 2600 carts because they refuse to lower the price to anything reasonable. -
Not this one. rmaerz revived a thread after 7.5 years. This one is just under 7.

Oh crap! I got e-mailed about this and have yet to pay! I'm sorry! I'll get it out ASAP! Al: I went ahead and PayPal-ed the money to you for my preorder today!

Price Check: Colecovision & 60 Games
Cebus Capucinis replied to Cebus Capucinis's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Okay, after asking for a listing here's what I got: Nintendo Games: Spy Hunter Zelda II Adventures of Link Dr. Mario Super Mario Bro. Track & Field Blaster Master Bigfoot Skate or Die Coleco Vision Games Asteroids Target Fun Midnight Magic Cosmic Ark Missile Command International Soccer Q-Bert Tron Deadly Disc. Laser Blast Code Breaker Zaxxon Carnival Combat Indy 500 Hunt & Score Demonds to Diamonds Grand Prix E.T. Kaboom Bugs Black Jack Night Driver Circus Space Invaders Defender Star Wars Berzerk Donkey Kong (2 each) Illusions Mash Antarctic Adventure Frogger Ms. Pac Man Bowling Demon Attack Video Chess Slot Racers Super Breakout Vanguard Video Olympics Krull Amidar Surround Dodge-em Crystal Castles Oink Mega Mania Street Racer Pac Man Sword Quest Jr. Pac Man Jungle Hunt Galaxian Dragster Mouse Trap Flag Capture Gorf Basket Ball Boxing Black Jack / Poker Stampede Maze Craze Absolutely nothing in there that's really worth much. I don't even see a single title for CV that wasn't also a 2600 port, and for the record the NES games were thrown in at the beginning of the sale. The seller has now stated that it's worth $280, so now $20 more than the original quote, which was already off-base. I think I'll be passing on this one. I think I've run into a seller who has absolutely no idea what the system is or has with it and has placed a much higher value on it than it's worth, and I'll just have to deal with bargaining by trying to convince someone it's worth less than it is, which almost never works. -
270 Atari 2600 games for $349 and no one is buying?
Cebus Capucinis replied to homerwannabee's topic in Auction Central
This topic sure changed from "on topic" to "let's talk about homer's grammar" quickly.
