A port of the arcade Return of the Jedi would be really good too! Really any of the Atari coin-op games of the later era..... APB Arabian (though not later, it is a perfect game for it!) Badlands Batman Blasteroids (though this is kind of ugh, since there are already a couple games like it on the 7800 and it's not a very good game) Championship Sprint Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters (I WOULD LOVE THIS! ) Final Lap Galaga '88 Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (Would love it also! ) Marble Madness (though without a trackball this game loses a lot) Pac-Mania Paperboy Peter Pack Rat Rampart Road Runner RoadBlasters Rolling Thunder Skull & Crossbones (OH YEAH!) Return of the Jedi (Another great!) Super Sprint Xybots The problem with a lot of these, though, is that the list gets really pared down when you eliminate both games produced on the Lynx (most of these titles were Lynx titles), stuff produced under the Tengen name (eliminates even further) for the NES, and titles that just wouldn't translate to the 7800 control scheme or graphics very well (Marble Madness, for example, would be horrible without a trackball). Ultimately, of the list, the ones I'd like to see most are: Return of the Jedi Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Peter Pack Rat Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters Arabian I believe someone (Bob? ) was working on Arabian at one point in time, but I can't be completely sure. Atari's Coin-Op division sure did make some really phenomenal games, even in the later stages of Atari's life cycle.

why all the hate for 'make an offer' items?
Cebus Capucinis replied to toptenmaterial's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Since the two are hand-in-hand, I'm going to post another one as well: It'll be my last post in the thread, but I want to bring this up: Without new members in the community, we don't get new items, new info, and new excitement. The community stagnates and eventually dries up. Tanman was a new seller once, so was nagn, and others who have since allowed us to see new items and new things. Please think twice before you pick up the pitchforks and torches in threads. Bullying and badgering new members or make an offer people only does this community a disservice in the end. Threads with 1 post about an item and then 5 posts dog-piling asking "WHERE THE F*^& ARE YOUR REFERENCES A$%HOLE WE DON'T TRUST YOU" doesn't put AtariAge in a good light for people. Protecting buyers from scams is one thing, but bullying and cajoling doesn't help the situation either. -

I get that some people don't like make an offer threads, but there seems to have been a lot of this on AtariAge lately: Just sayin'. -
Just played my first game on a REAL TG-16 console. WOW. What a strange yet fun machine! So glad to have it in the collection.

Nice score! You can probably make back that $350 alone over time just on those sealed Journey Escapes. -
Nightmare On Elm Street (Atari 2600) WIP
Cebus Capucinis replied to Atari Adam's topic in Homebrew Discussion
No offense, but do you know how much revenue the average homebrew generates in terms of cost vs. sales? If you count labor as billable hours, as theloon is saying, homebrews never even reach the break-even point. These are things that are done out of passion and out of love for the hobby by guys that we respect above and beyond anyone else in the Atari community. This, in itself, is great, but do you really think New Line Cinema is going to see "passion" and "love" as substitutes for dollar bills? Definitely not. There has been one homebrew to date that got licensing rights -- Boulder Dash -- and that was an incredibly expensive process, easily the most expensive portion of the development of the game. That was a small studio with a (relatively) obscure game, something as large as Freddy is not going to be something that the licensing rights will be taken lightly. Devaluation of the brand will be very close to the chest for New Line Cinema, and they will want some serious numbers as to production runs, sales, etc. before they will even consider allowing rights. For a console released in the late 70s, that's just not going to happen. A run of even 250 carts/boxes (which is a VERY generous estimate of sales) isn't even remotely scratching the tip of the iceberg in terms of what they'd be willing to do. Thus, even if they were to allow licensing to occur, it's going to be incredibly expensive, likely easily five times more expensive than the number required to make a project like this feasible. If you are an erstwhile millionaire and want to do this as a philanthropic gesture to the Atari community, then great, I'd love to see it, but unless you have at least 5 figures to sink into something with absolutely ZERO return on investment, this project will be going nowhere fast. -
