I don't click on these much anymore, keep forgetting they're tucked away in here! (Don't mean that as a criticism of status updates, more my failing brain!)

I FEEL SPECIAL

I find it hilarious that BASE jumpers wear helmets. If something goes wrong, trust me bud, the helmet ain't gonna help.

I had the strangest dream that I got a million Likes. Check out my YouTube channel where I describe the dream!

I have NOT played Atari today. Have you played Midway today?

Ha! Yeah, I need to pull that and patch the wood. Stupid thing. It's at...99% right now. Just redid the wiring harness / rebuilt the power supply. The only problem right now is the 2716s in it have bad code (game plays fine, but the scoring goes in reverse!) so I'm waiting on a test ROM and new 2716s from hobbyroms.com - I need to get a burner at some point but I'm too lazy currently.

I just wanted to tell you both good luck. We're all counting on you.

I kinda want a Playdate, hipster though it seems to be ...

I looked at all the new Club thingies and couldn't find the Club Sandwich. Guess I'm not in that Club.

I love eBay auctions that say "SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY!" Guess I'll just take my giant pile of clown cash elsewhere.

I've def had enough flakes on eBay....I've never been like that so I can barely process that some people are so annoying/stupid/scammer-ish. When everyone understands/obeys the rules, it's fine...It really makes me mad when all is said and done. In the old days ya couldn't do much either. (Example) I "sold" a brand new PSP on Launch Day. A guy ran the price up, I would've even made a little something. Except he didn't pay. I left Negative Feedback but now, like a new car driven off the lot, my PSP is Not worth as much. Ended up selling it to a friend for just retail and I ate the cost of tax.

I mean this not as criticism, but why is it that the new "retro" consoles (Amico and VCS) are always flooded with "Y'know what would be great? The nine hundredth version of <insert arcade games here>! There aren't seventy other systems to play that on or anything!"

That's what I don't understand, why people can't tell the difference between a $60 Flashback with more 2600 games than a $300 VCS which is a low end PC.
Maybe had Atari SA communicated the purpose of the VCS better than they did then there wouldn't be so much confusion...oh wait, I'm just another "hater" trying to give constructive criticism for a product made for easy triggered social media junkies instead of actual retro gamers.
-
In their defense (albeit very little) I think it's an incredibly hard market to figure out. Frankly, we don't live in a world of "niche" products anymore - even the stuff that's "indie" is big business on major consoles. There's no middle ground - either you make the retro crowd happy with Flashbacks and other inexpensive (relatively) nostalgia-machines and member-berry production, or you (miserably fail) at attempting AAA stuff to compete with MSonyTendo.
Ouya proved that singlehandedly by dying on the vine almost instantly. There just isn't a market for something like this, even well executed (and admittedly Atari certainly didn't execute well)...

Funny, My CollectorVision Phoenix is fun as hell and was made by a couple of guys I know (of) from here on AtariAge...My Dragonfly cart arrived today but I haven't had a chance to check it out, but fingers crossed. And Again, that too... it was a fan project...And look at all the homebrews!
Maybe if Atari SA A) Had more than one brain cell in their collective head, and B) Wasn't so busy trying to rip people off...I could go on (and On and On) but really I'm going to stop here. I'm not going to make excuses for them...(I could figure out the market better than them without even turning on my brain, because I happen to like video games...)
-
I often wonder, now that homebrews are more widespread, whether some creators intentionally make low numbers to artificially inflate the rarity.

I really want to know how many of Chesnais' family members post in the VCS forum. It's the only explanation.

I seen it and should of boughten it

I think I've made up my mind and I'm going to sell my collection and move on.

I think they need to rename the internet to "Anger Generator 9000," because it seems that's all it's good for anymore.

Porn isn't angry, hahaaha. Neither is online shopping, of which I'm doing more of since I don't want to hang out in a hospital. I would add fantasy sports as a benefit but that is going down the toilet for the moment.
But it is what you make of it. Don't be an asshole, don't let assholes get you upset, everything goes pretty smoothly. The anonymity and distance convinces closet assholes to reveal themselves, allowing you to remove them from the give a shit list. I see that as a positive, less people to be concerned about, I had my doubts about that guy but now they are confirmed, etc.

I was really disappointed when I found out Elevator Action isn't made by Playaround.

I'm a loner, Dottie. A REBEL.

I'm proud to admit that I'm the most humble person alive.

I'm thinking about a thread comparing the C64 to the A8 now! PUSHING THE ENVELOPE I KNOW

I'm too cool for participation trophies...I was SMOKING CIGARETTES when they handed them out. ?

I've decided I'm selling everything 10 years from now. Going to post the sale thread now though, because if the necrobumps are an indication, future me is gonna be a millionaire!

Yes. I'll be the first to admit I was wrong one year ago when I forecast a crash due to unemployment and other effects of the pandemic. It seems that many of the people into video games have mostly been unaffected, possibly even had a boost in finances leading to prices still spiraling upwards.
Good thing we have multicarts and emulators, in the future that will be the only affordable ways to enjoy this hobby. ?

I've got good news. That gum you like is going to come back in style.

If there's an Atari General, that must make me the Atari Private....or maybe the Atari Toilet Cleaner.
