  2. He will always be 'wgungfu' to me, LMAO! That odd name will just always stick in my head, despite the name changes! I wonder if there were any 'lost' games in the catalog at this point in time.......or perhaps these titles got shifted into what would be later games. Have any protos surfaced from titles that would have been around this very early timeframe at all, or just the original 9 release titles? Say, a title that was near completion that they were considering as a launch title, but then decided to continue coding or refining past the stage....so it is a 'coulda woulda shoulda' type launch title, but ended up being something later? A game that was "good enough" for release and was completed or very near completion that they just put in that extra (arguably unneeded)tweak or two that took longer?
  3. Looks almost like Flim-Flam. It was a Pong clone, so that would be my best guess.
  4. I am now 50% complete in an SMS collection thanks to 2 wonderful bulk buys from ax. Always a pleasure to do business and a great friend to boot!
  5. Got mine today! Looks great, smells great....since it's about candy I assume it TASTES great!
  6. I don't think nofrills100 will be releasing a console anytime soon, sorry to burst your bubble.

It's the ultimate cop-out when you've been caught trolling! "Heh, I was just showing my nephew what can happen when somebody acts like a jerk on a message board! Your reaction is exactly what I expected. Thanks!" I'd forgotten all about that thread until recently.

  8. I think mine is an R7 or something. Possibly one of the CommaVid titles? Can't remember.
  9. Ever wonder what AtariAge would be like in "Bizarro" Land?

Random Terrain would be the sane, rational voice of milquetoast reason.

Instead of a corn thread, there'd be a banana thread.

  10. Yep. I never thought anything of it until now, had forgotten. That old apartment was a black hole for a lot of packages, though. I think the lobby people were stealing them, to be honest.
  11. Sky Kid "Red Baron" from the Namco game of the same name! Barring that, probably Major Havoc, the dudes in Smash TV, or the protagonist from Robotron. Best evil character is hands down EVIL OTTO!
  12. Next time you're in my neck of the woods! Just don't go to the one on Central, it's a freaky-deaky crackhouse type joint these days!
  13. LOL, I wish! The man behind the curtain for this project is much smarter at engineering than I could ever hope to be, I am just one of the unwashed masses!
  14. Ah, but the rub of it: How much will it cost?
  15. Well, judging from what Groovy has been saying, it sounds it's definitely in the home stretch now. I think it will be out in at most 3 more months, possibly end of June!
  16. Curt and Marty's huge, enormous, awesome brains have been working on their amazing, awesome, great, cool book about Atari history that is to come out soon! I'm sure there's also a LOT of midnight oil sessions hammering out all the details involving the XM.....so excited!
  17. Eagerly awaiting to play this in glorious 120" projection!

  19. My ProMAX controller got lost in the mail.
  20. Well then I'm jealous of your friend! I'm only fooling anyway. Could it be a problem with the power supply, as ax says? Perhaps with the increased power needs to move the laser the system is shutting down. If it's booting fine, that means the power needs are adequate at that point in time, yet when the game changes, I assume the drive mechanism turns on for the CD drive, thus increasing power load.
