  1. I remember Adventure Island games renting respectably well at the local video stores but the gaming magazines were pretty harsh with them calling them cheap knockoffs of Mario. (The later critics on the web have savaged all but the 3rd one pretty hard since as well.) It was one of those games that was fun when the NES was really hot but got lost in the shuffle over time because the series didn't transcend many other systems. (Like Star Tropics in a way.)
  2. Night Trap for Sega CD: Hear me out here folks, if you love really bad slasher b-movies, this is the ultimate video game for you. The only thing that could have made this b-movie cheezy perfection would have been nudity. The Adventure Island series for the NES: Insanely addictive even if the controls are spotty at times. Friday the 13th for the NES: The AVGN laced into it so badly that you'd think the game was a crime against God on par with TMNT NES or E.T. for Atari. That said, it is a solid exploration game with a good scare factor with Jason popping out randomly.
  3. And don't forget to vote for us as the Indie Soap of the Week over at http://www.welovesoaps.net !
  4. Since the show takes place in 1983 I don't know if you'll see that but you WILL see bikinis in the not too distant future!
  5. Be sure to answer the poll question in the comments section!
  6. For me Baseball is the most linear and always has the best gameplay.
  7. If it wasn't for the infamous "bikini code" NOBODY would remember Metroid as anything but a bloated, pixilated mess. The only "exploration" games that have ever worked for me have been Zelda and Link to the Past. This one is what happens when you take Kid Icarus, (a hard but still fun game in spite of it's repetitive music,) and make it so tedious that is is unplayable.
  8. ANY first person shooter after Duke Nukem 3D is tedious, boring and lame. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City: All cutscenes and music videos, no gameplay at all. Final Fantasy VII: All cutscenes, no gameplay.
  9. NES: Mega Man 1 + 2 Legend of Zelda SNES: Final Fantasy III Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest
  10. It's a comedy about 4 sexy girls who run a workout studio in 1983. AtariAge kinda discovered it during the Atari addiction storyarc last year. (Thanks again newcoleco, without you I wouldn't have found this awesome site!) We still do video game stories from time to time and have some fun with all things retro. (In spandex leotards and leg warmers of course! ) Hopefully you'll give the series a chance and be part of the fun!

  16. YOU'RE the world famous Chad Media superstar ANGRY JOYSTICK????
  17. HUGE props to NewColeco for providing the game footage for this and don't worry, no Atari 2600 systems were violated in the making of this video...
  18. Unless you have the CD add-on, the TG16 isn't worth the money you paid for it. That is where the only good games were.
  19. Dreamcast's demise is why I will NEVER support a Sony console, EVER. Screw Sony and their price dumping tactics that led to the demise of the greatest non ColecoVision system ever!
