  1. Another victim. I swear I'm never going to buy from China. Bunch of swindlers.

I am sad to hear how they ripped off your kid Ax. People suck! :x

I have ordered tons of stuff from China and have always been happy with the products and the service. It is always sad when one or two sellers can ruin the perception of an entire group in a country.

  2. I got no clue why, I guess I am just a glutton for punishment. But when I saw a Coleco Adam computer, complete with box and everything but the pack-in games on CraigsList for a killer price, I bought it... again... I gotta be braindead. :ponder: (Hey hey Cebus I know what you are about to say... don't exploit the easy opening :D ) These computers are awesome, but they are the biggest nightmare to ship. The box is like 4 gadzillion inches long, 13.7 trillizillion miles wide, and 47 parsecs high and takes 3 forklifts and 2 shaved llamas to lift. But seriously, it is like in the 42"x24"x10" neighborhood and probably 40ish pounds.

I have no need for yet another one... but I bought it anyway to try to pass on to a fellow AAer.

The computer looks great, and the box is in semi-rough shape. Have not taken it out of the box, so it is untested. I will take pictures tonight.

    Asking $65 + $50 shipping. Or $1,250 + Free Shipping... whichever you choose. :D

  3. As a matter of fact, if you are really interested in getting a C64 setup, I have a few dozen loose ones... I can send you one for free, just pay shipping... you will be amazed at just what a C64 can do, it is a heck of a gaming machine. The great thing is that even if you want to stay away from disk games and utilities, there are almost 500 cartridges, so there is no lack of things you can do with it.

  4. Thanks guys. Now, what's the going rate for a C64, and are there word processing carts?

Actually there are many word processors on cartridge for the Commodore 64. A few of them worth mentioning are Quick Brown Fox (my favorite), Ski Writer II and HES Writer.

You can pick up a C64 for as low as $10 but the common range is between $25-50.

You could probably get around $20-25 for your printer.

  5. My pet peeve is pulldown menus. You often have various options scattered among SETTINGS, OPTIONS, CONFIGURATION, PREFERENCES. Aren't those one and the same? What's the difference between them?

If you go to the dropdowns on this site under configuration, then help, then forum, and finally FAQ, they detail the difference between the options for you. :P

  6. If you ever get a chance to try it out, the latest Namco one in Jakks Pacific's plug 'n play line features a lot of games not usually seen on them, like Super Pac-Man. It has a four-way stick though which you noted you dislike: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0028RZ7NS/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=atariage&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399369&creativeASIN=B0028RZ7NS

It is actually the same unit with a different case :)

  7. Well, that's how I like to run things, I like to give the first person who was interested and who expressed interest the chance to get the item. You don't have to in the end because it is YOUR item, but I like to be fair.

I always sell to the first person that expresses interest as well, so long as they are not on my "do not sell" list.
