  1. Very nice. A Vectrex, especially a boxed one, is a great addition to anyone's collection... and they are just so friggin fun to play.
  2. I tried to get one of those Yasi skins but was like a day too late. I saw one on eBay like 1 or 2 years back but missed it too. I think they are great.
  3. Hey! Who you calling people? **crickets chirping**
  4. Very nice! I have tried bidding on a couple of the factory sealed ones but they go for way more than I am willing to spend.
  5. I have toyed around with collecting the European Milton Bradley and Japanese Bandai releases of each game as well, but have not committed to it... currently for international cartridges I only have a loose Bandai "Scramble Wars" cartridge w/manual.
  6. I have attached some pics of most of my Vectrex collection. I have one other boxed Vectrex Arcade, a loose one I built out of spare parts, a Sean Kelly Multicart and my Pasport Magazines not pictured... I will take some complete shots this week sometime and post them. you can see individual shots of each here http://www.geekvintage.com/gce-vectrex.php But two other items I am proud of in my collection are the original Vectrex carry case and the original Vectrex dust cover. Both of these items were only available via the order form on the back of the passport magazine or by the order form included in the 3D Imager box. You can also see my ArcadeTime watch hanging in the picture, it was also built by GCE.
  7. There was already enough big spenders who knew about this auction that it wasn't gonna go that cheap. Any type of "under the radar" bids would have got crushed anyhow. Just wondering how much did you think you could win this for anyhow? I tell you right now I was bidding at least $200 on this myself so unless you are bidding much more than $200 you wouldn't have won even without this thread. I know my bid of $200 won't win it either. Yeah I was looking at the $200-250 range.
  8. Star Castle is a great title for the Vectrex, and one of my favorites to play on it. On the standard, non light pen, non-3d games, Star Castle and Pole Position rank like R7+ The only standard games that rank higher are Polar Rescue at R8, Minestorm II at R9 and Mr Boston at R10.
  9. Argh... I was hoping to snag this one under the radar. Darn the internet and the ease of finding stuff!
  10. There are few Vectrex topics on AtariAge, yet it seems that most of the people here that show pictures of their collections, you see Vectrex items in the pictures. I personally love the Vectrex, it is tied for first place as my all-time favorite gaming console. I thought it would be neat if people would show off their prized items in their Vectrex collection to give the system a little more recognition. Like do you have a boxed 3D Imager? ...a prototype cartridge? ...a carrying case or dust cover? ...Minestorm II or the elusive Mr Boston? Let everyone know here what makes your Vectrex Arcade great. I have two items in my collection that I am particularly happy to have. One is my CIB 3D Imager, which as I understand it, is the first foray into 3D in the home gaming market. But the crown jewels of my Vectrex collection so far has to be my Passport Owner's Club Magazines. Not to be confused with the Passport Catalog flier sent out with nearly all Vectrex systems and game cartridges. http://www.geekvintage.com/gce-vectrex-passport-magazine.php There was only one issue of the Passport Magazine, which was only sent out to members of the Vectrex Owner's Club, making it one of the most rare items for your Vectrex. Even though I have a complete collection of the commercially released items for the Vectrex... I still feel there are more items for me to obtain to have truly complete collection in my mind... Mr Boston and Minestorm II
  11. *swims up next to your dingy in my life preserver... fine, my ducky innertube* There is no such thing as overboard in collecting things for a system you love.
  12. Can't wait to have this thing repaired and in one piece. This unit will wind up being my main play unit.
  13. Ummm... I offer 3 monkey nuggets! PM sent!
  14. You can get it on one of Jay's multicarts.
  15. Ok, I wanted to make a separate thread for the multicart posts since the general Mattel Aquarius thread is starting to get pretty convoluted. JayBird3rd has engineered an 8-in-1 multicart for the Mattel Aquarius, which is a pretty serious leap forward for the Aquarius community... this development means that not only can you play some of the hard to find or impossible to find titles on the original Aquarius hardware, but this also paves the way for homebrews... something the Aquarius community has been sadly lacking. You can read about the multicart in that original thread http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/157641-mattel-aquarius/page__view__findpost__p__1972067 If you have any comments or suggestions for Jay about the multicart, please post them here or PM him. I will post a review of the multi-cart here as soon as I play around with mine a bit.
  16. Now it is just too darn spooky that you posted this... I just won this game in an Auction yesterday eBay Auction -- Item Number: 190383000137 It baffles me how the company that released it didn't get sued... well maybe they did... or maybe they had licensing rights? Once I get the game, I'll load it up and let you know how it plays on the Aquarius.
  17. Psst... I have a few spares... PM me if you are interested. The Aquarius was a Radofin 8-bit computer that was branded for Mattel and was only in the marketplace for 4 months before the plug was pulled by Mattel.
  18. I just completed a deal with masschamber on a TurboGrafx game. A great person to deal with, great communication and fast shipping. A real asset to AtariAge.
  19. You can read a bit more about Jay's wonderful multi-cart here http://www.geekvintage.com/mattel-aquarius-cartridge-128k-8-in-1-multi-cart.php I will be adding a more in-depth review as soon as I play with mine a bit.
  20. Doh! Sorry! I was excited and was just trying to be helpful lol, it's all ok.No one was hurt -------------------------------- where do we order/pre order one of these. Is there going to be more made? we want details!!!! LOL... you will just have to wait for Jay to announce them first... I probably shouldn't have hinted at them here but I was just so damn excited about them!
  21. Doh! Curse the ease of finding info on the internet! Yes, the Geek Vintage website is mine and the post on the Yahoo tech group too LOL! I was wanting Jay to announce it first here.
  22. There may be some extremely cool news about the Mattel Aquarius in the next few days from a fellow AtariAger... stay tuned... Are there any moderators around that can give the Aquarius it's own board and move this thread into it?
