  1. He was commisioned to write whatever the devs wanted, they'd tell him they wanted some Pink Floyd or Jimi Hendrix and he'd program it for them. As fro IK being plagiarised, it bears a moderate similarity to that song posted to start off with, but yeah, Rob Hubbard's "version" is twice as long and changes tempo half way through - didn't hear any of that in that Sakamoto song... Inspiration is NOT plagiarism.
  2. Bloody hell, that is almost as good as the original version, probably 1% difference between them - never would have thought this would be possible on pokey!
  3. You kept this thing alive single-handed at one point, and still produce the best images!
  4. Imagine an adventure game with Gunstar quality art back in the day on the old Atari, Commodore would have gone out of business a lot sooner!
  5. I can imagine turning up to the hotel, asking where all the games are and being told "Sir, we don't allow video games in this hotel." That would be typical Atari! ?
  6. Atari doesn't mean anything any more, just a word to stick on any crazy idea the inept rights holders can think up.
  7. Rasterconverter basically killed g2f, at least for casual image creation. Seeing these new pics, that's a shame!
  8. That is incredible work!
  9. Guilty! ? I don't have anything left from back then though, I gave everything to my brother when I got an Amiga!
  10. Thanks, I enjoyed drawing title screens in GAD, it was more fun than our games tbh! ?
  11. I remember using a program called Graphic Art Department (or something) to draw some title screens for Black Lamp and Tagalon etc - but used home made stuff to do in game graphics and PMs - didn't even know you could do cross platform until way too late!
  12. And I appreciate it being posted here. I'd never have known about it otherwise.
  13. You have a genuine skill for colo(u)r, are you an artist in the "real" world by any chance?
  14. There should be a feature to automatically like every picture posted in this thread! Are you sure you're not accidentally using photoshop instead of Rasterconverter, Gunstar? ?
  15. Nothing to do with the Atari version, but I can use this as an excuse to post this amazing cover version of the original Sanxion I found on Youtube a few years ago - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHmPRciOx90
  16. Why have I only just seen this? I remember buying JSW from Boots for my Spectrum, having all sorts of problems with the copy protection cause red and magenta looked identical, and then spending weeks playing it, and now with this version I'm going to have to do that all over again aren't I! Incredible work, you obviously have the brain the size of a planet! ?
  17. Schreckenstein is probably my favourite 8 bit game ever, not only is it an awesome 2 player game, it also features some incredible AI when playing single player - because there is no single player, the computer will take over player 2! It looks fabulous too!
  18. I had a Spectrum, a 2600, an 800XL, a C64, an ST, an Amiga and then PCs. The only one I have any feeling of nostalgia for was the 800XL (and maybe the Spectrum). Despite the C64 having "better" facilities, the games all felt off, and the sound, well once you've heard that whiny noise once, that's enough. Rob Hubbard was the only reason I kept it for as long as I did! Point being, it doesn't have to be the best, most powerful or whatever if you had the most fun with it!
  19. Never understood why this game is so revered, it looks and sounds horrible, and is about as interesting as a beige wall. C64 had many better games than this even back in the 80s.
