  1. Very Cool... Thx for the post...

I recently got a Super Sketch and I've uploaded a video to Youtube so people can see how it works. Below are screenshots of some of the sketches I've made with it so far. The bird, dog, palm tree, and fruit sketches are from templates included with the sketch kit.. The other sketches are from tracing drawings from other sources.

  2. Yesterday I've received my Super Game Module. At last! Thanks Eduardo!

Finally I could test Thexder, Dragon's Lair and Super Zaxxon :). Last and not least it sounds excellent with Mecha-8 :D, I wanted to do this test since months ago!

My Yie-Ar Kung Fu is missing... maybe it will ship later.

    Drool...

  3. Guys, I am back!

The project I was working on at my job is finally over and I am now officially on vacations...

I am going out with my family next week, and once I am back on Friday I will resume all Opcode activities.

I greatly apologize for being away for so long, for not getting here to reply to messages or even emails. But I was under a lot of stress, really critical situation, and I had to keep my job, otherwise I would be out of the US, and with 2 little kids to feed.

Really anxious to get back though...

BTW, a few weeks ago I had the chance to ship some dozen modules for those who replied to my emails. I will keep shipping the few remaining 1st run SGM left once I am back.

And I will do my best to have 2nd run in time for Christmas.

Hope all is well... Can't wait for 2nd run ...

  4. I've heard more than a few people talk about having a Digital Data Drive that will run a tape all the way to the end, then start making a clunking noise, while never loading a program. The case for most is that the little rubber pinch roller wheel is missing. The aluminum hub is still present and spinnable, but the rubber outter wheel is gone. I've got one of these problemed drives myself so I thought since it already doesn't work, I'm not too afraid of screwing it up. On a starndard audio cassette deck this pinch roller is nothing more than a spinning wheel which the tape rides on. In the ADAM drives, this wheel is actually an encoder within the housing. Much like how the Steering Wheel Module and Roller Controller turn the pulses from a sloted disc into on-screen motion, this slotted disc must somehow use the pulses it counts to control where the tape starts and stops and the likes. So if there is no rubber wheel present for the moving tape to make contact with, which in turn would spin the encoder disc, the ADAM has no idea how far the tape has reeled and that's why it runs to the end. I measured the ID and OD of the rubber wheel on one of my good drives and I've got some replacement material on the way. With any luck this will be a fix for all of those non-functioning Digital Data Drives you've all got lying around.

This is exactly the problem I am having and I am so happy to have read your solution. Thank you so much for posting this information. I’m going to give your solution a shot hopefully this week and I’ll post my results. I have another ADAM I purchased off Ebay (where else) that supposedly has a functioning data drive, so I’ll have something to compare it to. I’ll try and post some pics of your repair process as I go through it.

Well, I tried the fix, took a lot of pictures, but destroyed the encoder disk while cleaning it… Be careful with the encoder disk as the thin metal prongs will bend easily. Also, I ran into two very very small metal washers that I have no idea where they came out of? If anyone wants the pics, email me @ [email protected] and will provide them… Also, if anyone has a spare encoder disk that would be great.
