As far as I know, You need a CRT to make the light gun work, so yes.

Oh. I see. Well, this information helps. I will run with it. I will use the information on the forum posts as well. Thanks for the information.

Hey, GGN, I forgot to ask. Is this tutorial for rB+ in the master ZIP directory that I downloaded recently from GitHub also outdated, or did you mean the previous tutorial I compiled into a PDF for myself and my learning pleasure from 2016? I assume it has been updated in the past three years (it has a new logo, for instance), and I know that there is also a tutorial on AtariAge in the forum posts for programming on the Jag, but I am just curious. Thanks.

I found the tutorial in the master files. Thanks for telling me that it was there. It also looks quite complete. It seems to have everything. Thanks again. ^_^

Ah! Understood. I was not sure. Thanks for the information. I will have questions when the need arises. Appreciated as always.

Hello, all!
I am looking for the original project files from the Raptor BASIC+ tutorial, including the Particle System Star Field, Sprite Graphic Modifications Files, and the Video Mode Files for the "lolvalamp." I have the text for the RB+ tutorial, since I compiled it into a PDF a couple of years back, but I need these files to follow the old tutorial text. Or, is the tutorial text so outdated that it is irrelevant nowadays? I really want to understand this software. Can I get assistance for finding the project files? Thanks.

So, this is the sticker for the JagSD cart. Nice job, by the way, SainT.

This is a great development for home-brewers, and thanks for doing it. No rush, but I was curious. You said that the Mac version does not have the same features as the PC. Do you have a timeline as to when you will be able to develop more for the Mac version? Just wondering, since I am a Mac user. I have a PC, too, so I guess I could develop on both platforms. But, I like Mac and it is a simple inquiry, I guess. No worries. Thanks.

I have a question. Can a 7800 ROM be burned on an Atari XE-compatible EPROM burner?
-
I have a question. You had said, SainT, that the CDIs you use for the SD cartridge are modified for it. Could unmodified CDIs work as well? Or, is that something to work on in the future? Thanks.

I think that a Udemy course on A2600 development is a wonderful idea. I would love to sign up for it. That is, if it comes to fruition. But, I am all for it.

-
I was not sure if you knew that. Sorry.

The CD-BIOS is the software needed because it is the basic input/output system (or, BIOS) needed to run the Jag CD. Without that software, the emulator cannot recognize what system it is. I don't know, could you consider that a type of firmware? Maybe that is a noob question, but I do not know. But, anyway, all systems have a BIOS. Emulators need that software to mimic those systems. Otherwise, it cannot ascertain what the ROMs can be run under. That explains a bit, anyway. Even PCs and Macs have a BIOS, unless it is called something else on the Mac.

-
As the file attributes are stored separately to the file itself, the contents of that bin file should always be a byte for byte copy of what would go on a ROM chip regardless of how it's named.
It may be the case that a particular burner uses different file extensions for different reasons but that would be specific to the burner used.
I see. Thanks for the info.

i have a question about A7800 ROMs. I can create a .BIN file for the 7800, but would I need to change the file extension to something else other than .BIN? If so, what file extension should I use to burn it to real hardware? I am curious. Thanks.

I would suggest handling it anyway. Probably never be needed but why take away a possibility
Agreed. How do we know that someone, someday, may make an epic, multi-disc game? But, that's of course up to you, SainT.

Now, when you say 2019.
Are we talking more like January or December?
I was wondering about that as well. When is it going to be released? Or, is there no definite date yet? No rush.

This is an awesome development. I like it. I can't wait, either. Cool! Thanks for posting this.

It could be. I assumed that because you said that if you weighted the lid down, it would power up. That is where I might check first. Just a thought anyway.

-
Was playing Myst last night. Took the disk out to put in another. Closed the lid and would only work when pressure was apply to the lid.
Assume it is something to do with the connector or the lid clip?
Any suggestions for a fix?
Does it still have some spring to the pin that activates the CD player when you attempt to close the lid? I wonder…

Using CDI images (converted to a specific format I can use on the JagSD cart) is what I'm doing, yes. I'm not promising CD support as yet due to odd issues I've been having, but it should be possible.
Right. Understood. Thanks.
-
I would love to be on a pre-order list. I cant wait to play cd games without the cd attachment!
Me neither. Tell me something, SainT. Can this SD cartridge you are making utilise CDI images for CD emulation? It seems the common way to image Jaguar games. I don't know if this was asked previously in this, so sorry if it is repetitive. I did not want to check back sixty-six pages in the past to see if it was. It is a hot topic, after all, what you are talking about. Keep the faith. Thanks.

I use to have a Lynx but for the life of me, I can't remember what happened to it ???
I once had a Lynx I unit with eight games. It and the games were stolen and I know who did it, but I cannot prove it. However, I now have replaced that with a Lynx II unit with 14-16 games. Some of the games that have been stolen have been replaced as well. The Lynx I will someday eventually be replaced when I get enough money to do it. it is a pretty decent unit considering (my Lynx II, I mean). I treasure it, as I should. Thanks

I was thinking that it would be about £100.00. It sounds like a good roundabout figure. That would be about USD$130.00, give or take, depending if the Pound Sterling goes up in value. But, right now, it is worth about USD$1.27. I just checked Google on that. I know that your price is an estimate, of course, but that is pretty reasonable to me, considering what it can and will do. You have to figure parts and labor, S&H, and R&D. I know I would be willing to pay that much for something like this. I think that it would be worth it, especially if and when (and I am being optimistic, so I will say when) the CD-ROM emulation is complete. I would not mind trying that feature out alone. That would be handy.

Xcode Template for DASM VCS

I was looking for the Templates folder in the correct directory, but it isn't there. Question: can I create a Templates folder in the directory, or does XCode do that automatically with other templates that I create? Thanks.
