It was eventually finished and released by the original programmer of the game. You can find it here in the AtariAge store.

I own a K and an M Model Jaguar. I have both models. I guess I am lucky in that way. So, one has it and the other does not.
-
I liked "Froggie." The sound and graphics are on par with the arcade version. Very, very good conversion! Love it.

I have always wondered about that. I have wanted a virtualization app with more power, but the money issue keeps popping up. Oh, well. I will just save for it then. But, also, yeah. It would be cool to have all those systems in one. Agreed.
-
Agreed. The company that sell the DeOxit, whose website I found, are located in the US state of California. Music to my ears. I might buy a kit. I want my Jag to purr longer and better. So, it isn't expensive. I want to try it.
-
Yeah, I could order it from eBay as well. I like cleaning my Jaguar products to make them work better. Oxidation happens eventually. So, I do it as a fail-safe measure for that. I live in a basement apartment, so that makes it even more likely. Thanks for the info. It is appreciated.

I guess they have it on their website sold in US dollars, and I just did a Google search on it. Sorry. Novice question. I was just curious. Thanks anyway for the great guide. I will try it.
-
I have a question. The DeOxit. Can a person get something like that in the United States? I would like to find something similar to that here in my country. I am sure you can, but I never heard of it before, hence the question. Or, is it sold as something similar in the US? Thanks.

That is true as well. Assembly would be of use on the Lynx, for sure. I have been wanting to learn Raptor BASIC+ anyway. OK. Thanks for the info.
-
Perhaps. I think that is what I meant anyway. Tell me, does one need to have an understanding of BASIC for assembly code and have a great understanding of math? That is the learning curve for me: understanding a totally different counting system. We are raised to know decimal math, but hex gets me. I can wing it, but that's it. I had heard from someone that one would need to understand BASIC well to get into assembly. I am sure it isn't that hard otherwise, but I am coming from this as a total novice, that's all.
-
This is true, too. Atari used teams of programmers to make video games for the Jaguar. At least, that is what I heard through the grapevine, and it is probably so. I can see how it is tough, especially with assembly code.
-
Right. That is true. But, I was thinking about only Atari systems, not other developers. But, you're right. It would be CPU-intensive for sure. I agree. It is hard enough for me to get 3D acceleration, for a certain example, on my Linux and Windows guests on VirtualBox for my iMac, and I have a Intel quad-core i7 and 16 GB of RAM in it. The 3D acceleration slows down the machines down too much if it is checked, but that is experimental on VirtualBox anyway, and I am working with a late 2009 iMac, so it is slower than newer Macs. So, I understand what you mean about emulation and it not being perfect. But, good point anyway. Real hardware trumps emulation all the time. So, yes, I do get that, but thanks for bringing it up anyway. Anyway, that was just an example. I am no emulation expert, but I am certain it could be harder to emulate older cores for classic video gaming. But, I could be 180º off on that, too. Thanks.

I was reading the posts. Multiple systems emulated on the Jaguar should work. The Jag definitely has plenty of horsepower in its RISC chips. What about the Jaguar's RAM? Would that play into it as well? Again, most curious.
-
Either way, it's a cool idea. Is there anything about the guy working on EmuTOS and/or GDI improvements for the Jag online? Is there a specific forum that he attends? I am curious to read up on that. Thanks.

You would think that there could be an adapter created for a keyboard to go in the joypad port. But, I might be getting a little ahead of myself. Sorry, folks. I am just eager to see this in action. Thanks.
-
Actually, that could work by running TOS compatibility on a Jag. I would welcome that idea. Cool!
-
Agreed. That it would.
-
Who knows? Maybe the Jaguar can surf the Net with specialized software and a keyboard/mouse for the JagSD. Turn it into a full-fledged Internet terminal. That is probably too contrived, but maybe in the near future. I am not saying now. I would love to see the CD-ROM emulation feature on it, but I understand that is still in the works. So, no worries. I can wait. No rush. Thanks.
-
Now that is cool. Networking Jags over the Internet. Has it ever been done yet? It is a great idea. I have heard of the old Cortina setup, but just in prototype form. Maybe I am 180º off on that. I don't know. But, it is a cool idea, nonetheless.

I see. Interesting. In fact, I do have software for the ST that needs a dongle to work. Understood. Thanks for the information.
-
Oh. That's too bad. Well, it did not hurt to suggest, I guess. I did not know that the ST cartridge port was not useful. Well, if you do create something like UltraSatan, I might be interested in buying it. Thanks.
-
Thank you. I will look into that and see if there is anything that does not. I assumed it was extremely effective, and it is. I have used it many times for my own stuff. Thanks again.
-
Cool. Thanks for the response.

Hi, there, I have a question. It is a great tool to use with unencrypted games, but is the Jagtopia Bypass CD 100% effective with all unencrypted programs for the Atari Jaguar CD player? I was just curious about that. Thanks.
-
Now, that would show promise, and we would not need to modify our STs! Good idea.
