A8 Color Palettes for Photoshop CS3 Extended…
jericho_21 replied to jericho_21's topic in Atari 5200 / 8-bit Programming
Also, I put them in the Optimized Colors folder, where other .ACT files were. I do not have a Palettes Folder in my main Photoshop folder. That's just FYI, thanks. Another thing, they come up as Adobe files on my Intel iMac. So, that is a good thing. I don't want to pay for Photoshop CC, hence all these questions. Sorry for inundating everybody with them. I am just curious. -
A8 Color Palettes for Photoshop CS3 Extended…

I was wondering about those palette files that I just downloaded. They come up as UNIX executable files. Are these for Photoshop CS3 for Power Macs as well? That is the system I am working with. Are they compatible with my PowerPC G4-based system? Thanks. -

A8 Color Palettes for Photoshop CS3 Extended…

Thanks, Stephen. I found the .act files I needed. I will try them in Photoshop and see what happens. You were a wonderful help and it is duly appreciated. I was certain the files would be in the emulator, but it sounded like a noob question. My apologies. But, thanks anyway, for your advice. -

So, you mean like files .ACT files built in the emulators, like Altirra or Atari800, correct? I assume they are already in there with the emulators. Thanks. -
Hi, guys, I recently acquired Photoshop CS3 Extended for my iBook G4. I wanted to own it outright, instead of working with it online in Creative Cloud. As you know, Photoshop CC only works with Intel computers. So, my question is this. Does anyone know where to find a palette file that I can work with to create Atari 8-bit graphics on the Photoshop CS3 Extended workspace in Mac OS X? After all, why pay an online fee to work on something like this when the opportunity to own the software is right in front of me? Thanks.

Create and burn eproms for standard Jaguar 2 chip cartridges

Hey, guys, I tried to look for the Universal Cartridge Header in Jagware. Jagware is down at this writing and possibly permanently. Does anybody have the UNIV.BIN file? Because I cannot find it anywhere. Thanks. Any assistance is appreciated. -
I have to agree. You are right about that.

Atari were going to release T-Mek, Area 51, and Demolition Man, through Time Warner Interactive (TWI), but they sold themselves out to JTS Storage in 1996. Even then, Ted Hoff of TWI said "Nothing doing" to Atari, and divested before the sell-out. Sad thing, because I believe the Jag could have done it. But, it probably would not be as fast as the arcade versions would be. That's because the arcades had hard drives. For example, Primal Rage had slow loading time on the Jaguar CD player. I think it needed some more OOMPH to it, so to speak. Maybe they could have put an HDD on the Jag. They did offer one for the PlayStation 2 and had the expansion port ready for it. Atari should have done that for the Jag, in my opinion. At least, some kind of flash memory. Unless they did not have it at that time, IDK. Sad times, anyway, for an iconic gaming company.

Then I will work on Raptor BASIC+ exclusively then. I thought there would be so many significant differences anyway that you would be right about that. Good idea. Thanks.

Well, welcome to AtariAge, Ted. Nice to have someone from Atari online here. Happy to have you. -
OK. Cool. Thank you for the advice. I think that I will run with this.

Got a question to anybody out there. If one learned Atari BASIC, would that make it easier to learn Raptor BASIC+? It is just a hunch, and I know that they are two different programs, but they are both BASIC at the core. I was thinking if one could brush up on one form of BASIC, (s)he would be better at the other. Thanks.
-
Oh, indeed I shall. It was a question for future reference, anyway. Thanks for the info.

Hey, guys, I have a question on Raptor BASIC+. Can the language create games incorporated with full-motion video? I know you can create fluid animation with game sprites, but what about FMV frames and clips? Is that beyond the scope of RB+? I was curious about that. Thanks.

Jaguar CD soundtrack calls in Raptor Basic?
jericho_21 replied to Clint Thompson's topic in RAPTOR Basic+ (Deprecated)
Well, I understand that cartridges are much more durable than CDs, but what about those individuals that cannot afford an EPROM burner and a Skunkboard? Unless someone has found a way to put high-capacity storage on a cart, CDs are cheaper than carts and hold considerably more data. They can last years even, if taken care of correctly. I understand the argument about carts and CDs, and I agree both ways. However, it is easier to burn a CD with an ABS file. Just put it through JiFFI and you have a workable CDI and use DiscJuggler. Both arguments are correct, IMHO, but I would rather work with CDs. Just me, I guess. I like Raptor BASIC+, though. Kudos, CJ and GGN. -
This is a really good game and it is challenging as well. I own it. It is a cherished addition to my collection. It kind of reminds me of Sonic the Hedgehog and R-Type combined, the way the game is laid out. I could never get very far at it because of the difficulty level. Fun game. Kudos to the game's programmers.

I was able to acquire Doom for the Atari Jaguar from a good friend of mine. It was a great Christmas for me because of that.

Apollo "68080" new 68K Core running on Atari STf
jericho_21 replied to Xebec's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Well, I am indeed impressed with this. Is there a definitive date for when the Vampire 2 to be released for the ST, or is it too soon to tell? I know it is for the Amiga already, but I am curious. I might just snatch one up in the future just to see what it is like.
