  1. I could fire away in Stella: I do have a rom of it myself, but yes, there COULD be differences. I just need the time to really play, as naturally I suck more on stella than I do on the real game. TV framerates and persistance of vision on the TV I use could be another issue affecting this.

    WTB: Atari 7800

    You made a good choice.
  3. What I would love to see, or do, would be to take some people and actually let them play the game on the original hardware, till they give up: then let them read the instructions, and have them try it again, and see what happens. Your standard study into if their opinions change, or if they do better: it would be hard to get people to really care, but if the right sample groups were created, it could prove pretty interesting... Especially if some of these stupid kids floating around bashing the game all the time were in the study: might be able to shut a few of them up. Not that this is really feasible by either of us, but it is an idea: maybe some crazy guy at a college could do it. XD Now, as for what you could do.. hmn.. heck if I know. :/
  4. Hmn, when I was playing on my Jr, the walls were visible the whole time (well, visible as their speed allows). And I always play on difficulty B, so.. Iuno. lol.
  5. nice! This might be the first ever Lynx entry. Well, since this is in the 2600 section, it would be a little odd for someone to post other system playtimes: I think it would naturally be avoided. I don't think anything wrong in doing so though. BTW, for me, major plays have been: Beany Bopper: 15 Mins Pac-Man - 20 Mins Donkey Kong - 10 Mins Otherwise, no major plays to report over last week.
  6. C:\DOS C:\DOS\RUN Run DOS, Run!!! Gotta get me one of those. BTW, on topic, I finally tracked down that green represent shirt, and wear it alot. No one says much, but work people do notice when I wear it up there: seems they believe my random retro game talk isn't just BS, lol.
  7. Oh, please, don't think I was complaining: I love such conversation, and think it keeps threads alive! I was just saying I was participating in the original topic and not the branch conversation.
  8. Would this be an appropriate moment to say I share your love and appreciation for E.T, as a whole? I spend half my time on youtube, it seems, trying to prove the points in your site. Hehe. BTW, those gifs do look nice!
  9. Well, to be fair I just use the Kill Screen term to refer to its bats**t insanity: I can imagine the game still being playable forever, but I feel that perhaps more line was put in to keep people from quitting after 100K. I doubt much else could be done that would not end up making the game impossible. ^^
  10. Well, to update the thread for the it's intended purposes, my rarest game would now be the soon-to-come Supercharger and games 1-10: so on a technical note the rarest individual game would be Party Mix (7). woot woot.
  11. Please shoot me. NIB Vader is NOT worth that much, games or no games. NIB Heavy Sixer? maybe, but it's a stretch. NIB 2800? Heck, if I had the money I would go for one of those. But that? No.. just.. no.. *sniffle*
  12. Frenzy on Maria? Oh... God.. YES! On that thought, anyone thought about a Berzerk port to 7800? I know it was officially on the 5200, but that, for obvious reasons, gives it a limited market. As for the arcade accurate VS original elements debate.. is that not what game variations are for? Take again Berzerk on 2600, variant 3 was the most arcade like, 1 had no Otto, and 2 had otto killable, a very fun unique thing (possibly to bean option at least least somewhat similar to otto Frenzy, who knows). I mean, I am all of "original" and "new" modes to games. Makes them worth the buy. Oh man this makes me want to learn how to work with TIA and MARIA.
  13. WOW. I never thought I would ever see anything DDR / ITG / PIU / SM related on Atari Age. Never. Wish I lived nearby, I would so work up a deal. That is a great price (This thread is like an intersection between 2 heavens for me!)
  14. Ah, really? Well, gives me something to shoot for. Too bad scoring AT ALL after that mark is a matter of luck. :/ Seriously, I think my end total was 100650. That's all, and that was with about a minute or so past the suicide mark, as I think I will call it now. Hmn, also seems I would rank 6th? whoa.. crazy. Maybe I should make a video of it and submit. Too bad I have a issue with TG over their DDR scores, but that is another story.
  15. As the title says, I was playing Beany Bopper a short while ago, and finally got my pattern down to where I quickly hit 100,000 and rolled the score. At that point, the game went, for lack of a better phrase, bats**t crazy on me. I would like to think of it as a kill screen: it scrolls so fast you are pretty much stuck to the center, firing away at beanys that you can't hit, because your bullets use physics: yes, they move so slowly in relation to you that they BARELY fly forward before they disappear. You can get a few more, but for the most part I just got annihilated at that point. As I said, I really think this was pretty much a kill screen: people say this is a game intended for little kids, so it would make sense to go that crazy at 100K: what 6 year old back then could get that score honestly? (Don't.. answer that, please. XD) Anyone else that can stand to play the game up to that point? Got any thoughts? Kinda pointless thread, but worth a chat or 2.
  16. Hmn, 38 Dollars. Good deal I would say. Haha, if only more auctions like this popped up when I was on the quest for one... oh well, I got a good deal on mine.
  17. If I may make a recommendation on a game to get ahold of, now that I think about it, I would say, if you can find it for under 2 dollars "Fast Food" by Telysys. A personal fave of me and a buddy. Not saying it is the greatest ever, or that most people even like it, but I think it is quite fun. Towering Inferno and Alien, by fox, are pretty nice as well. Hmn, what else in my stash... Oh yes, Stargate / Defender II is epic.
  18. If I starve to death because of this, I just want all of you to know that you CANNOT have my stuff. XD
  19. Oh yes, the feeling of opening them is gold. I got a good few international games, and of course, opened them all. only thing I have yet to open is my sealed berzerk: bought it for the sake of owning it (thank you Godsey!) and it is a centerpiece of my non-existant showroom
  20. I agree. Send it to him so he can fix it and make it live again! Atari 7800 Frankenstein Edition. Oh, yeah, you should see the last Heavy Sixer I fixed. It looks like something right out of a Sears store, I tell ya. Haha, I was just taking some goo-gone to a few of my 2600's before I logged on. All nice and shiny now!
  21. DO WANT! -.-;; Just cannot spend that much.. if you had opened up about a week ago I would have been able to get now and go for it, but as it stands.. gah!
  22. I agree. Send it to him so he can fix it and make it live again! Atari 7800 Frankenstein Edition.
  23. I'ma go with what mitch said: this seems to be something deeper in the system than just a funky button. I feel for you, and best of luck. This could very well be connected with your cart issues.
