  1. Funny, because I was just thinking about finding a toasted ST and seeing if I could squeeze a laptop board in and get the KB working. Was actually thinking that the Falcon case might have been better as I could put a floppy/card-reader in without having to cut anything out. My plan was to put USB ports under the keyboard in place of the D15 ports, possibly where the analogue ports are too. Do I have the time at the moment though? I wish!
  2. Guys, that is brilliant! So many ideas, so much time needed to check them all out. Thanks loads. Man, it's great to be back looking at the old 8-bits. I hope mine powers up again OK
  3. Hi everyone! I've just signed up because I've finally gotten around to researching how to save my Atari software collection. I got my 800XL for Christmas 1987 when I was 8 and although I've not powered it up for a while, I did use it regularly, even after I got my STe and eventually my first PC. I'm now concerned that I'll be loosing a lot of data as my disks degrade, and I want to back up as much as I can to my PC. A quick scan of this excellent forum shows me a few different projects that may help but I'm a) baffled by all the options and b) not able to build anything myself. So, I guess I have two questions: Bearing in mind that I'd prefer to manage everything via PC where possible, and I need to be able to backup even copy-protected games, what is the best solution for me? Considering that I've never built any electronic device from a kit, and probably don't have the skills or patience required, if it needs to be done, will anyone do it for me (for a fee of course ) Thanks everyone, and I hope to be able to contribute something constructive eventually
