  1. I have healed well enough that it is only sore, the hospital gave me narcotic pain killers, wow I was feelin fiiiine! :') My wifes car I think blew the head gasket so I got our van back on the road and went to replace the trans in my car since it has been sitting for a couple months and evidently i picked up a trans a little to fast... Then while i was on the narcotic pain killers tried replacing it in my car and made my shoulder 10x worse... thinking while on narcotics isnt a good idea... for two weeks I have been in pain, and since the pain was bad unless I was pushing up on my arm, my elbow started to get sore from all pressure on it. It is mostly fine, I still cant put my arm behind my back, so its really wierd keeping my (empty!) wallet in my front pocket... Tonight I will be working on things and hopefully get some progress accomplished... my stream will be after about 9pm EDT... sloopy.
  2. I'm impressed by the fact you're able to fill multiple threads for weeks with an issue that is about as simple as changing the battery of a wrist watch... What does that mean? Are you saying you can change a wrist watch battery yourself? I never have. I didn't think they were supposed to be changed by the wearer, only by a jeweller or watch repairer. Next thing you know, you'll be telling me you can change a watch strap all by yourself, so if you can do it then ANYONE can do it! BTW, I can play guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums. If I can do it, then ANYONE can do it! Quite honestly, replacing the battery or strap in a wrist watch is rather easy task if you have a modicum of manual dexterity... Playing musical instruments on the other hand can be impossible if you dont have certain skills, either learned or naturally... The only thing I do with music these days is tell my kids 'turn that sheet down!' ;') sloopy.
  3. You are not alone... sloopy.
  4. Looks nice... now where is that guy who was complaining about needing a better install manual? Finally a user made one... sloopy.
  5. Sloopy, Has this been updated yet, or are you still getting it prettied up? I could use it before I begin my U1m upgrade. Since this upgrade uses the OS socket I will be taking out the MyIDE internal upgrade. Or even a link to the original... IF it hasn't been updated. Sloopy, Has this been updated yet, or are you still getting it prettied up? I could use it before I begin my U1m upgrade. Since this upgrade uses the OS socket I will be taking out the MyIDE internal upgrade. Or even a link to the original... IF it hasn't been updated. the main thing is the IC's dont show the their names, for some reason the 'layer' with their names is under the 'layer' with the block outline, and it hasnt been a high priority to fix, as i can tell which IC is which by what lines they have... I will ask a minion to pretty it up bit, and then post it... also, only one person has noticed the mistake on it so far... sloopy.
  6. Let me revise this, minimum of 1A is needed for a stock machine, any stock machine in the 600XL/800XL/65XE/130XE/XEGS... 1.5A is better, and should be considered 'standard' if you plan on adding any hardware in the future... Higher can be used, on my desk I have a PC ATX power supply i use for powering any machine that I do any work on and the 5v is rated at 35A... The dates say it was last year and may not be or isn't available anymore! Apart from the above, this worries me "MORE POWERFUL THAN EVER: The Heavy Duty XL/XE Power Supply outperforms every Atari Power Supply ever produced. Consider one fact: the most powerful Atari Adapter is rated for 1,5 Amperes while this one is rated for 3,0 Amperes. NO MORE ATARIS FRIED BY THE WRONG POWER SUPPLY: It is a well known fact that you always have to be careful swapping Atari Power Supplies. For example, an Atari 65XE PS plugged to an Atari 800XL caused damage even thought that pinout and voltages matched. Why? Because the 65XE was not powerful enough in terms of Amperes and Wattage and failed in a matter of minutes, damaging the connected Home Computes. People had to own a different Power Supply for each of their Ataris, yet connecting the wrong AC Adapter and frying the machine was a common mistake" According to this, my new Atari XL PSU could fry my 65XE in a few minutes, even if checking it with the multimeter gives the correct result! What should I do now?! As for fixing my Select key using a pencil, unfortunately you don't give details of how to do this. This is a load of shit... the only way a 800XL would kill a 1A 65XE PSU is if the 800XL was mod'ed internally with various things... (i.e. 512k ram, stereo pokey, internal MyIDE, etc)... sloopy.
  7. That looks like an FTDI chip in the photos. Yes, its a FT232RL... sloopy.
  8. He was talking about your U1mb/800XL not working, not your sio2pc-usb devices... I may be wrong, but I dont remember him making any comment about your (personally) made devices... As for my personal opinion on your devices, I dont really have one, beyond they are rather pricey... which we have already covered. I havent bought one of yours for any other reason then I have a bunch of my own built ones here, and dont need another ;') sloopy.
  9. why are there so many components on it? It does like nice tho, I just use heat shrink on mine... sloopy.
  10. What he means by '2 wires' is the lead has two separate wires as opposed to a single 'line' with the two wires in a cable type setup with the ground woven around the core supply... I explained to SIO99 in AA chat, that the two separate wires would be easier to splice then the single cord. sloopy.
  11. well, I must admit... I figured people would go off in another direction, and tell me not to 'mount' it... sloopy.
  12. Can i buy a blank PCB for mounting? :'D sloopy.
  13. Anytime! we are here to serve!!! If it makes you feel better, I cant get mine to work right... with the telnet disk it will resolve the url, but then gives some garbage, and nothing else... when i use the disks from the contiki website, it wont get a IP... and if i hand code them, it still wont resolve DNS... sloopy. Are you sure your cart is fitted TIGHT ENOUGH in your Atari 130XE slot (sorry I really had to type this, after your tv-show yesterday) Yup, its a 'tight slot' indeed! sloopy.

  15. Yep - there's no "h" in Jon. But seriously: very nice indeed, and very thoughtful dedications. Thanks! Jonatan? @Sabastien, they look VERY nice! ;') sloopy.
  16. yes, i was streaming today (think i still am), I have one that was having a thermal issue, i think i fixed... was trying the dragon cart while it was warming up... later tonight tho I will be streaming and working on them... after about 22:00 EDT. sloopy. Just wondering where I am in the queue.... The VBXE I speak of above (with the issue of RGB output going blank after its warm), is the one for your machine... its been an hour without an issue, so it seems its golden... wish i was as handy with my dragon cart :'( sloopy.

  18. I have said it in other places on AA, but... http://www.bgmicro.com/machinepin.aspx altho in smaller sizes they are pricey, but in DIP40, they are only marginally more then ordering from china, and because they are in the US, shipping is much faster... lately tho, i have gone over to machine pin strips for anything but DIP40... sloopy.
  19. I got a box! now, I just need time to do something with it sloopy.
  20. Sorry, I have been working alot at my job since this storm so havnt been able to get much done around the hobby... I am hoping to get back on it tonight/tomorrow at the latest... The package to the UK hasnt shipped yet... It is whats first on my list tonight... followed by installs for the machines that need to be done of the first batch... sloopy.
  21. If need be, i can put a wiki on my one domain... ataripbi.info sloopy.
  22. At the moment my only PSU for my Atari 65XE is the "Ingot". If I cut off its connector, then I'll no longer have a PSU unless I succeed in attaching it to a new PSU which is compatible. I may not be able to do this. my son who is 13, was capable of doing this... when he was 11... I am sure you will be fine ;') sloopy.
  23. I accept complaints, compliments, and even criticism... but I have not, will not, and never will accepts 'kudos'... I just dont like the word... Also you said 'take ones job seriously', for you this may be a job... but to most of us, its a hobby... sebastian does alot with the hardware he has produced and sold... this is a 'hobby' and anyone else is more then welcome to make a better document for installing the U1mb (or any other A8 mod, whether sebatians or someone elses). This is common for 'projects' in the various communities of hobbyist, whether it is for the A8 or any other subject matter. It seems hundreds of U1mb's have been installed, and NOT ONE PERSON has felt the instructions are so bad that they have made something better... And your opinion of a sio2pc not needing directions is simply in a word, bullshit. sloopy.
  24. I dont have any 'ingot' PSU's... I dont even bother testing them, they get emasculated and tossed... sloopy.
  25. There were a few problems... you just didnt know it cause the people who installed and had problems didnt throw a tantrum... sloopy.
