  1. just email them to me, I will use diff to apply them ;'D sloopy.
  2. Sloopy,Which software did you use with this product.??? I use avrdude in linux... I have a script that does the whole thing for VBXE, flash the main bin, and set the fuse bits... I think i lost the script for SDrive and sio2sd I had... also used a Windows program flashjazzcat post on the forum here somewhere, for sio2sd. but i dont rem the name of the prog... sloopy. I use avrdude in Window with a cmd prompt ... I finally got the fuse it set also ..It took me awhile to get the comport set below #4. This is the full line command.. avrdude -c stk500 -p m32 -P com2 -U flash:w:sio2sd25.bin -U lfuse:w:0x3F:m -U hfuse:w:0xC3:m Thanks again for all the info... cool, np... also, just so you know, I did have issues with setting the fuse bits at the same time as programming the main bin... This was only found out when I started using avrdude tho, as I was playing around with it, and read one of my other atmega32's I had already programmed in windows, and saw it... sloopy.
  3. Interesting, maybe this project will shift the whole community so that everyone dumps XL's and XE's and people will only want Atari 800's! ;'D sloopy.
  4. I never claimed to be a gentleman... the challenge is open to all, including non-gentleman, non-human, and even sloopys... sloopy.
  5. In various forms of collecting (not just 2600, or even classic gaming consoles), different people have different ideas on what is 'right' and what is 'wrong'... Ultimately when it comes down to it, the collector themselves are the definitive word... People vary from collecting the whole complete package as originally sold new for games, to others who just collect the cart and instructions, to people who only have the ROM's and use a Harmony cart... What makes that individual person happy is the 'right' thing for them... When it comes to consoles, same thing applies, some try to make it look like you pulled it fresh from the box $HOLIDAY morn in 1981... while others feel the best is to have mods for S-Video, pause, power LED, etc... What makes that individual person happy is the 'right' thing for them... Controllers... same idea, its not like some consoles where the controller is physically attached to the console with no possibility of removal without mod. Freedom of choice for controller... But some say the CX-10 is the only controller to use... What makes that individual person happy is the 'right' thing for them... So, while others will sit their with the 'Factory Fresh'© 2600 and enjoy only original carts using a CX-40... I will enjoy my USB CX-40 from Legacy Engineering on an emulator... sloopy.
  6. What you may want to consider is, making the holes for the GTIA socket large enough so the larger part of a machine pin socket goes into them, and then the pins come out the bottom... put the components on the top side folded over, and the few resistors on the A8 CPU card on the back so there is clearance... this would work well in the limited space of the CPU card, and the only thing to come out would be the wires for the output... (if you need clarification, just ask ;') sloopy.
  7. There is a short exe for setting the time/date in disk based spartados, and it works fine in realDOS also... The mem is recognized in realDOS also... sloopy.
  8. Looking at the carts, I would say your in the US as these are VERY common carts... $30-60 is reasonable. sloopy.
  9. Well, he is a hardware guy now days, so i would hope so! sloopy.

  11. Greetings all, WSGEXE, Captain Breakout, and I were on the chat here at AA talking about games, and decided to have a small 'challenge' among us, and others who want to play. Rules: The game is Kaboom! by Activision you can play any official activision release of it (i.e. 2600, 8bit computer, 5200) people in the top 5 spots MUST post a pic of their score... the winner gets a 'congrats' from all players and a click on their 'rep' from other players. This challenge ends on June 30th 23:59 Alaska (US) time... and this is my first pic to get it started... thanks, sloopy.
  12. AutoDuel, the premise and most of the game are decent, but the actual principal game play isnt what it should be... this didnt stop be from playing it... alot... sloopy.
  13. Exactly each and every one of my points & thoughts, above. Could not agree more with you. Dont start sheet, there will be no sheet... http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/96927-xlxe-compatible-atari-800/page__st__575#entry2538030 and the info will flow... (thanks, wood_jl for the 'vote' ) sloopy.
  14. As long as that "liason" is optional, I am fine. In reality, there is no need to go through intermediate supply points for this board, without mentioning that Incognito's intallation requirements are pretty much a joke. Let's avoid another SIDE debacle, here, another stream of "Sorry, I have been very busy", "My apologies, I was feeding the dogs" hollow excuses. How about 'I am having issues with them not working, and Candle and I havnt been able to get our schedules in sync to work out the problems'? I dont have dogs, and Its not my chore to feed the cats... sloopy.
  15. SMD = surface mount devices SMT = surface mount technology close enough... sloopy.
  16. I would highly recommend getting the AV jack put in... user joey_z can do it for a low cost, and I recommend him highly... sloopy.
  17. Also, I tested an ANTIC D, from an 800 CPU card, and it works fine... its still in it actually... and XRAM passes... sloopy.
  18. Here is the 130XE I test every VBXE with... tomorrow i will take a pic of my NTSC 65XE (900XLF type) sloopy.
  19. I would agree, put an AV jack in it... sloopy.
  20. memory wise, this machine is stock, and my 1bit NTSC 130XE passes XRAM test with no problems... sloopy.
  21. I just put an ANTIC from an 800 (C012296D-22), into the 130XE I use for VBXE testing, and I get a READY from BASIC... Need me to test xram also? sloopy.
  22. which do you want? a NTSC 65XE, or a NTSC 130XE? sloopy.
  23. there is a specific layer file for the outline, but i usually just make the outline in the silkscreen layer. The only time they ever kicked back a layout of mine was when I had a trace within .025" of the edge of a board, they wouldnt 'guarantee' it. Within a board .025" spacing is fine, but need a .1" 'no zone' of edge and traces (but silkscreen can go to edge...) and also, I am messing with you (somewhat) about them being easy... They arent as easy as something like a SOJ-36, but the actual soldering part isnt hard like most people say... The hard part is lining them up and tacking two opposite corners, considering when even using an x-acto knife the PCB has slight 'dome' on the pads, and if the legs get 'caught' between them it can 'jump' to a place several positions off... Once the IC is tacked into the right place, its easy to solder the pins... sloopy.
  24. Sloopy knows very well, he builds an SIO2PC/USB adapter based on the FT232RL, and other projects requiring SMD skills. http://www.atariage....y-edition-mkii/ Yes Bill, I am well aware of his device. FT232RL is a 5.30mm x 10.20mm chip with a 0.65mm pin pitch, the FT232RQ is even smaller at 5.00mm x 5.00mm with a 0.5mm pitch, and there is hardly any space on the tiny PCB to move a soldering iron. I know Sloppy is good at SMD, but this chip is a challenge for anybody who is in soldering electronics. Honestly, that IC would be easier then the Alterra used on the VBXE... 20 smaller lines are easier then 144 lines that are the width of a gnats arsehole bigger... sloopy.
